I agree to much moderation and too many bottom kissing yes men types will make this a very boring place.

it`s really a "point of view" thing

smells like "teen spirit", the forum is getting through puberty...
or is what goes on here a wee bit like "corporate identity"
which allows no true freedom of speech?

Hmm I am glad things are getting orderly. Carol you sound very orderly.. I just received some very very grimm news today.. Which in part, is exemplifying the whole idea of thinking outside of the box. I still want to refuse to look outside of the idea that everything will be ok if we Just WORK it out, but their is something very very strange in the air, this day and age.. As if right before the dark ages of long ago, I feel a strange stagnation of change about to occur. I feel politics will fail, leaving it only to the strong communities that preserve our nature, and if being here is something to help people get on when something horrible happens then so be it. Our time of reveling in this jubilee of a great society I believe is coming to a end. No matter how much I hope, and dream in our new leadership floating down this stream that is our dream flowing down with a current into a sea called our future, I feel it is daunted with the saliva of the desperate and the blood of the bold. A cloudy haze I see, a mist floating above this liquid, neither warm nor cold.. Just a specimen on a culture, that will be to man's surprise.. A once confident man, just took a moment to run and hide. Just for a moment in a second of time.. It is time to expect the unexpected at all times..

PEACE

...Isnt this exactly what we agreed to when we signed up?

I liken it to smoking cigarettes your whole life and then getting all angry at the cigarette company when you get throat cancer. Like, "I didnt know these things caused cancer!?" Its on the package. We all know that they can cause cancer. You kinda signed up for it, buddy....

Not sayin that the mods are throat cancer, LOL, just sayin that this is pretty much what we signed up for.

THANKS MODS!!!

Hiding is for wimps. I plan on sitting on the trampoline... or lying down on it under some blankets staring up at the stars. Life is good if we let it be.

Swanny, how could it possibly get deadly dull with you here. And those who really know me.. tend to belly laugh quite a lot.

No probs Karen. Didnt mean to make a curfuffle. I just like observing the duality of everything. Its interesting stuff.

Its just when some people here will have to pretend to be nice it gets a little less interesting. I was always able to get any info I needed from this forum even with all the other crazy stuff so I dont really mind. I agree with you on the abuse thing to some degree and I have no issues with any of the avalon team. Were all here at this time for a reason.

Peace out

Finding safe places, information and resources for building communities, site suggestions.

if your going to narrow down whats aloud in general discussion to those few things perhaps you should change the name of that section. general discussion doesn't seem to be very general.

Hey I never said "bottom Kissing Men types"
Kissing a mans bottom is not something I would want to do but each to their own

I said bottom kissing yes men.

Carol I'll try to stick around to make you smile but I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before I fall in front of the moderators mighty ban button
Either that or they bring the subscription ban in and we all get banned

In that case, you can walk the plank from this ship of sanity on the net shivering in fear, or dance, jump and perform on it, like you don't fear to dissapear in the waves of bits...

Well either that, or your subscription will $10,000,000,000 A month and rising a couple of % a day. I think paypal and other electronic money transfer programs can handle such <electronic> amounts of fiat money. I would be more worried about to get that wheelbarrow of paper weight home each day after work.

Oh, I need a and a

Ahh Swanny, folks make assumptions and act on them as if their assumptions are real... subscription isn't even decided and if there is one pretty much everything will remain the same except for a special area for the subscribers.

As for falling in front of the mighty ban.. for the most part, it happens for a day or so.. except this automative system is doing strange things so who knows. Jenny is going on vacation for a month and we have new folks learning the ropes.

Seems to me your good to go for as long as you wish.

Thank you, Carol and other mods. I, for one, prefer a peaceful community!

If Avalon represents in a virtual sense some of the issues that will be raised in actual communities, then this has been a difficult but good lesson. Thank you for taking on this enormous house-cleaning task.

2nd this. . im sure when we get into communities or groups then the base politics will rear its ugly head till all get settled.. this is indeed good practice.. i feel calmer knowing someone is tightening the site up

i was starting to lose it a bit on occasion..

before I fall in front of the moderators mighty ban button
This is what it comes down to in my view and experience. I was personally beginning to find one or two others with a spirit of inspiration for true living, the seed of action on this forum. Some began to speak out something. Then all threads deleted and me and others banned and my pm banned. Luckily my ban was a break. A break from being naughty or something....I didn't think I was naughty just realistic as I could be.

This announcement was a result of one or two things. People leaving in disgust because of what I saw as new energy of the forum which seemed to conflict with the original standard and upset people the direction it was going in (which I found was getting more relevant to the actual description of the forums purpose) and others starting to rebel because of realizing censorship of this true direction.

I don't want to cause any fuss but that's how I see it. You always find one or two level headed people on these kinds of forums. When they start speaking together it's seen as dissent. They are like a needle in a haystack.

If I get banned or moderated for saying it, hey what can I say got to make my own forum to be on level playing field.

Most of the stuff posted doesn't interest me. I've found out General discussion is closely guarded because subjects that did interest me were more or less wiped clean. "cleaning the forum up".

It depends how you clean it up that determines it's direction. You can use the guidelines and justify but it all depends on who does the interpretation not on the guidelines themself that have the power to moderate.

Cheers

Hi Dean,

Try Off Topic in Camelot as that is where most of the threads are being moved to. Not gone, just being sorted into the forums that relates to them.

You can also go to your own home bio page and check your statistics to check and see if the thread has made it out of the review area as well. Just click on your name and it will take you there.

Hello Carol.
I've searched for them they are definitely not avaliable from what I can see. I couldn't see any review threads in statistics. Everything got lost after the cleanup. Including people I was contacting at the time.

Dean you raise a good point. Note what was said: "are being", not "have been". The process is on going. I am currently involved in the review of those threads we moved from the public forum.

To clarify, some threads are being marked for permenant deletion, other threads are slowly being repatriated in the most appropriate place on the forum. Personally, I have repatriated approximately 8 threads and marked over 40 for deletion - these threads will not come back into the forum, and the overall process is taking a lot of time and effort. In some threads, overtly argumentative and/or off-topic posts are sometimes being deleted before repatriation.

The goal of this forum remains as first stated in the OP. "Finding safe places, information and resources for building communities, site suggestions."

A..

Hi Dean,

If you remember the thread title, give it to me and I'll get if for you today. This goes for anyone wishing a particular thread they don't see and would like to see returned to the open forum sooner rather then later. Just PM me or post the thread title here and I will personally handle it.
