OK start gathering rocks to throw at me, it's ok I grew up in the 70's so I've been stoned before, LOL!
I think it's a good start!, and then they should double or triple the tax on wine and all other booze, and then move on to cigarettes and cigars. I think that alone would just about get us out of trouble financially. And I'm no angel, I do partake in both evils, you play, you pay! Oh and oldpaganfreak, isn't it "do you want a little cheese with that whine?" |

I received an email from a friend recently saying these ads were from the 30's.
Personally, I quit drinking 14 years ago, but I do enjoy a non-alcoholic beer once in a while. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi Dantheman62,
Now you've just gone too far this time! Tax the booze (except whisky - we should get a rebate on that), tax the fags, but don't tax my cigars for goodness sake! What else would I do on the weekends? Best regards, Steve Quote:

HaHa, Oh and I need to ask a question!, where or how did you guys ever come up with calling cigarettes fags? I've been through this with Antaletriangle before, but I'm really curious where that came from. Any ideas? I mean did it start way back? or is it a new thing? When Antaletriangle was in Florida once he asked a guy for a fag and the guy looked at him like he had two heads!, LOL!

Hi Dantheman62,
I've always used the word 'fag' for a ciggie. I had a quick look for the origin. It comes from the Greek word 'Faggot' which means a bundle of sticks, which is how a packet of ciggarettes appeared to be in the olden days when they were wrapped together. Also in the past a famous brand of ciggarette was Woodbine or 'Woodies'. Could there be a link? Who knows? Who really cares? ![]() Best regards, Steve Quote:
