I meditate and this video is spot on. My only input would be that a mantra and/or breathwork does allow one to narrow down the amount of chatter we've been condition live with but once you near the meditative state they naturally fall away as thought does.

Excerpt from chat
http://truthloveenergy.ning.com/foru...november-2008:

MICHAEL ENTITY:

QUESTION:
I've read channeling from this channel that the president elect could be called the "president of disaster" but I am also hearing more positive channeling from others that this president elect is the one that will help bring about more positive change for our nation. could you elaborate on that, please.

MICHAEL ENTITY:
We would have to say that we have no channels at this time, from approximately 5 weeks before, and 5 weeks after, the U.S. election who are unaffected by personal experiences at this time. Both the optimistic and the pessimistic flavors are higher than ever and not sourced from us, even if much of the information is still clear.

We will clarify:

What this channel has described as "president of disaster" might have been more accurately described as a "president with the obligation to manage more turbulence and change than one president may have been known to have had to manage before." This may show up as "disasters" or "revolutions of consciousness." Both would be valid projections of probability.

What your country (and world) does with the inherent qualities of such a change in dynamic is far more relevant than what we, or our channels, or our students, or pundits project as possibilities.

In other words, there is a world of possibility and at this point, it will remain difficult to project, but this is Good Work. Most in your world have experienced a sudden, absolute awareness of possibilities that can only be created through choices and actions. In other words, this is the closest your collective sentience has ever come to "living from the Now," so to speak.

It will not last, of course, but the possibilities are endless at this point.

We have described this year as carrying the energy of the Chief Negative Feature of Arrogance, which is the Fear of Vulnerability, and this became emphasized for exploration in October. This means that there was a high potential for defensiveness, reaction, a sense of self-protection to have arisen within the public this year, but what has happened is quite the opposite. We have never seen so much of the population collectively embrace vulnerability as strength, and not something from which to protect them. This drop in self-defense as a collective consciousness has moved many of you to tears.

We will have more to say about this in our Energy Report to be posted later, but we suspect that many of our students are seeing strange and beautiful signs within their personal lives indicating a sense of opening up to the world again, opening up to support, to trust, to vulnerability.

We will conclude here. Goodbye.

Default A Focus On Ego

http://www.polarisrising.com/index.p...us-on-ego.html

A Focus On Ego
Question: I'd like to ask about the ego, especially about how the word is used in our culture—it's often made out to be an enemy, something to be extinguished. It seems that there is such a thing, and it is related to barriers and limitations to awareness. I'm wondering how to bridge the gap; I have a negative reaction to the term. Could you expand on it? Also, many people wish to extinguish the ego to obtain enlightenment. What's the benefit to that?

Let us explain the ego as we see it. As you may have noticed, we seldom use the term "ego". It has its roots in the English language in the psychological studies that were done about 100 years ago in western psychology and philosophy. There is quite an emotional attachment to the word, and there is also an attachment to the entire didactic system of philosophy/psychology that was developed at that time. In other words, use of the term "ego" tends to evoke the intellectual, theoretical, and the teacher/student dynamic; the teacher has all the power and the knowledge, and the student is the one who being "fixed", manipulated, or is learning from the "teacher".

This is a term we prefer not to use. However, in the work of Eckhart Tolle we see that this term has a much broader meaning, and that is fine! It can be difficult for the individual, however, to apply that broader meaning and to maintain the sense of it within the more narrow scope of connotation that the word evokes.

In terms of extinguishing what we feel is meant by the ego in order to attain enlightenment, what we feel is meant by this term ego, this broader sense, is simply conscious awareness of Self. This is also what has been termed in the Michael Teachings as "personality"; you can think of those two terms along the same lines. Ego is the conscious awareness of Self.

To attain enlightenment by extinguishing the ego would connote that enlightenment is attained only by awareness of All That Is, rather than by the perceived limitations of Self, however far the Self extends. In many ways this is consistent with our view of "enlightenment": it is a momentary conscious awareness of the interconnection and oneness of everything, of All That Is, including Self. In other words, enlightenment is about turning the notion of Self inside out.

However, we do not see this as a state that people are necessarily capable of maintaining for more than a fragmentary flash. Having done so at one time, however, allows you to make your way back to that moment energetically and to bring a sense of that awareness into your everyday life. There is some validity and truth to the notion that "extinguishing ego leads to enlightenment." However, using those words has a negative connotation. They imply that conscious awareness of Self is somehow a negative thing and therefore must be erased.

In our view, even though it can be useful to have those momentary, fragmentary awarenesses of the oneness of everything, it is more useful to simply give as much attention as you can possibly muster into whatever is happening to you at any given moment. In other words, being fully present in your body—in the space around you, in the world around you, in the situation you are in, in the emotion you are feeling—is more easily obtainable and more likely to bring vast changes in you and how you experience life joyfully.

In other words, being immersed in the moment, as much as you can be, is an easy way to bring joy to your life.

Default November 2008 - picking up the pieces

http://www.polarisrising.com/index.p...mber-2008.html

November 2008
Mon, Nov 10, 2008 12:52 AM

In this month people are primarily focused on picking up the pieces.

In other words, there has been a great deal of change occurring around the world. This change has manifested politically, economically, socially, and environmentally. The change has affected everyone living at present around the world in one way or another, even when they don't necessarily feel directly connected. And because there has been so much happening, this is a month to pick up the pieces. Picking up the pieces means checking in to see where you are, looking at the aftermath, and finding a new direction based on where you are at present. For some of you, your lives have changed so quickly that your heads are spinning, and this is now the month to assess where you are and to figure out on some level where you want to go.

Again, this manifests for different people in different ways. Some people have been affected very tangibly: their homes were destroyed in hurricanes, earthquakes or floods. Their homes were taken away from them with economic crises and disasters: bankruptcies, etc. Those people are living very tangibly and materially the changes that we all feel on a certain energetic level.

In addition, there is the growth element that's attached to all this change. It is one thing to undergo change, to undergo forces that swirl around you that cause you to reflect on your life, redirect your energy, and to make new choices and present yourself with new challenges, and it is quite another thing to assess what all this really means to you. So many of you again have been living a life of change, things happening around you and to you, very tangible things, and now it is the time that you are putting your energy towards what this means to you on an internal level, how this will reflect upon your future choices that are still yet to come.

This next year - meaning one year from now - will of course continue to look like a time of change. But many of you will find that there is a leveling out occurring. There is going to be for most of you a feeling of respite, a plateau, a time to look inward. This may not occur until mid-to-late spring of the upcoming calendar year, but most of you at some point in the upcoming twelve months feel this sense of rest, collection, and gathering together of Who You Are.

And then there will of course be yet again another outward outpouring of your energy and a redirection of your efforts into creating a new path for your life.

But this month, the month of November, is primarily concerned about picking up the pieces, focusing on what has just happened, starting to make sense of what that means to you and what choices that you will continue to make in the future as a result.

Michael Chat with
Nancy Gordon
(11/16/2008)

Opening Comments

<NancyG> We are here to speak with you tonight.

We cherish the time we can be a part of each of you here. Time, of course, is a label. For us there is no time and all time. Between this time and the last time there really is no time at all. But for the physical plane, time is linear and we accept the label. We use words that have meaning for you when we say one like 'cherish'. Our existence is without emotion, without the Maya that is part of the physical plane. But to say we cherish this time is to give to you some sense of our connectedness to you. Just as you are connected with each other, so are we a part of you tonight.

There is no good work in solitude as a way of life. For the time of looking inward, yes. For the time of pulling one's self together after the activity of the hour, yes. For a state or preference in dealing with the world, no. No one every expanded agape or evolved in the soul by escaping to a mountain fastness to be alone. Are your connections always satisfying? No, many are frustrating, exasperating, unfriendly, hurtful, demeaning. But taken as a whole, we would say that going about the world, enduring, enjoying, enabling, is the means for growth and in the end bliss.

You will notice we did not say 'happiness'. Happiness is not gained from others. Happiness is created within. Again, we do not say 'found'. It is created and re-created minute by minute. However, you are from a creature whose bent was sociability. And sociability means interaction with others of the same kind.

What then will be the way to turn the enduring into the enjoying? Into bliss? You have control of this. Only you can choose how each interaction with another will be. Not how it will come around, but how you will feel when you walk away from it.

Each of you has chosen as one of the overleaves that makes up your personality an Attitude. These, as you know, are Skeptic, Idealist, Stoic, Spiritualist, Cynic, Realist, and Pragmatist.

These labels signify a way of reacting to people and events in your life. Look once more at the positive poles of these Attitudes: in order, Investigation,, Coalescence, Tranquility, Verification, Contradiction, Objectivity, and Practicality.

Choosing to treat the world and its exigencies from the positive pole of the Attitude you have chosen leads to internal contentment, or happiness, if you will. Choosing, instead, to flounder in the negative pole of your Attitude captures only pain, fear, and general unhappiness. This is a choice, dear students. As is every single action you undertake every moment of time.

The morass of fear, or as one of your poets has said, the slough of despond, is a distraction, the delusion of Maya. Once you identify it for what it is, the negative pole of your Attitude, you can then choose. Do I stay here and enjoy my misery, or do I move to the lightness of my positive state and enjoy my bliss? Only you can answer this question. But we can answer other questions, and we are ready to begin them now.(Michael is pleased with playing on words!)

Default Re: Michael Teachings Forecasts- various channels

I originally put Jose and Lena's forecasts under Shamanism because of their focus there, but they also use Michael to access the monthly forecasts so I will be adding them to this folder.

http://thepowerpath.com/monthly-fore...st-2008-2.html

December Forecast: 2008
The theme for the month of December is CHOICE. Since this is also the month of transition from one set of influences to another, many loose ends are being tied up and pieces of personal growth are being completed as best they can be. The month is energized with a moving centered quality even though the instinctive center is still present and running the show in small gasps, fits and starts. Because of the transition, some of the 2009 influences will begin to slide over and through the ones of 2008.

Let’s look at the current influences and see how they are still affecting the times.

The instinctive center, the greatest influence of the year, continues to dredge up old wounds, imprinting and patterns, some of which have been hidden for a long time, perhaps for many lifetimes. The difference this month is the moving centered quality that creates a window of choice around what has come up. In some ways, the dredging is over and we are moving into a time of processing what has come to the surface. The choices this month will be to determine what are the most important nuggets to pursue and what can be left on the back burner. What choices you make will be important and will definitely determine your direction and focus for the next year. The influence of the instinctive center will not suddenly stop but rather slide out with the help of the moving center. You may experience great movement regarding certain personal issues that have surfaced for you this year especially if choice is involved.

The goal of growth follows in a last spurt, a bit like the last push to complete a project. There is an accelerated quality to the month and a collective intention for a certain alignment before transitioning into the next year. Much of the choices involved in this alignment will lead to action plans that may include a reorganization of how you do things. In a way, a year of growth will never feel entirely complete. There will always be loose ends as well as aspects of personal growth that are a work in progress. The main thing this month will be to make choices about what is complete and what is not, what lessons have been learned and where you may need to simply move on.

The King role has been a great influence in helping each of you to become more the master of your own lives. The leadership quality of the king role continues to assist especially this month with making choices from the place of being your own master rather than following the lead of others. Many opportunities will present themselves where a choice is obvious. A situation that does not present a clear choice may be one to wait and see. However if there is a choice then “wait and see” will likely translate into ambivalence and ending up in a stuck place if a choice is not made. Use the King influence to complete what you can and make definitive choices where you can.

The Spiritualist attitude continues to provide a guiding aspect for choices, insuring that there is some higher ideal involved and not just a reaction of the mind to present circumstances. Power mode is fading and moving more into its pair this month of Caution as you weigh your choices and decisions. Self-Destruction may have its last ugly gasp with some individuals acting out self-destructively as they never have before. The larger trend however is dealing with the secondary obstacle of Stubbornness, the fear of change, that can surely get in the way of making some choices and decisions that are necessary.

CHOICE will show up in various forms. Opportunities for choice may be more obvious or less obvious. The more obvious ones will demand you choose. The less obvious ones will require proactive energy on your part to create the change you need through creating choice. If there is still no obvious choice, either the timing is not right or the “wait and see” will need to be employed. The strongest lesson with regards to choice this month is understanding that there is always a choice. You always have a choice. Stubbornness is often connected with the experience of having no choice; that the decision has been made for you and that you have no recourse but to dig your heels in and reject the choice. Beware of that resistance as it will only stop the flow of momentum and drive you into depression and anxiety. You always have a choice, even if that choice is to accept, change your attitude, and do something proactive and positive for yourself, look at other options etc.

What goes into making a good choice or the right choice for you?

Here are a few examples of what you may ask yourself:

* Is it practical without compromising who you are at the core?
* Is it serving you rather than pleasing someone else?
* Is it coming from love and a connection to spirit or from a calculation of the mind that may include limiting beliefs and fear?
* Is it promoting personal growth?
* Is it completing karma or handling some other true responsibility that will empower you through the service of it?
* Is it moving you to a better situation where you can be more yourself?

Sometimes the choice you have is simply to change how you react, approach, judge, accept or take action regarding something out of your control. It is empowering to be able to consciously choose your attitude and actions. No one can take that power away from you. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be miserable. You can choose to be satisfied or dissatisfied. You can choose to come from love, compassion and acceptance or judgment, disappointment and irritation. You can choose to forgive or you can choose to hold a grudge. The positive choices will always expand you and connect you with your essence. The negative choices will constrict and limit you. The positive choices breed abundance, creativity and positive thinking, while the negative ones breed lack, mistrust and cynicism. What helps is gratitude. When you are in the thick of negativity and feel you have either no choice or else really poor ones, practice gratitude and focus an all that you have including the freedom to make the choices. There is a ruthless quality to the month as well. If your choices depend on the choices made by others, you may have to be firm on deadlines. Leaving too many open-ended threads will not serve you in the end.

PERSONAL GROWTH AND WELL BEING

This is a month to create priorities of where you will be putting your attention. The instinctive centered year has provided you will ample material to work with. Some of you may feel a bit overwhelmed at how much you have on your plate. It may seem a daunting task. This is where choice comes in to help you determine the priorities. Use the sample questions to help in your choices of where to focus. Remember that it is not always useful to understand every detail of what you are processing. Sometimes the mind can even get in the way, adding judgment to some old pattern that should simply be tossed without looking too closely to the contents. The opportunity this month is a tremendous spurt of growth where you can actually feel like you have gotten to the other side of some issue in your life affecting your well-being. Go for it!

RELATIONSHIPS

This is a big one. Many painful or scary choices are possible here. Some relationships you may cut off and some you may commit to or move towards without a lot of prior history. Use your intuition but be practical. This month provides an opportunity to complete karma and to tie up the loose ends of karma that has already been completed. Because of the acceleration of the energy this month, relationships could come together or fall apart overnight. Sudden change can play out in choices around relationships, not only intimate ones, but friends, family, acquaintances and business partners as well. Re-evaluate what feels like a compromising obligation to you instead of a true responsibility or service. Notice if any of your current relationships are still based on old patterns or imprinting. If so, they may need work.

Because we are moving slowly but very surely in the direction of a relationship oriented philosophy on the planet, many lessons will be learned and much personal growth will be achieved through relationships. They will become the most important thing in life for the majority of people and the guiding structure for almost everything.

PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Challenges this month will be primarily in the joints. Keep yourself fluid and flexible, hydrated and moving. Stubbornness tends to lock into the joints. The joints are also places where unassimilated information tends to collect. Since so much has been uploaded from your instinctive center waiting to be assimilated and filed, the joints are vulnerable as receptacles. Watch also for growths, cysts, warts, moles and fibrosis in the body as a creation of unexpressed and unassimilated instinctive material. It will be important to make good choices this month with regards to your health and daily habits. Watch over-indulging in any behavior especially as a reaction to feeling deprived or left without choice. Remember you always have a choice and one of the best choices you can make is to take care of yourself.

BUSINESS, PARTNERSHIPS, THE ECONOMY

The economy will continue to be unpredictable but with major changes inevitable and unavoidable. Those hard hit with losses can choose to either be accepting and creatively resourceful or resentful, despairing and cynical. The good news is that there is great movement in this accelerated and energized month. Based on choices to move forward, there will be more open doors, new beginnings, inspired new business ideas and creativity than there has been in a long time. There will be choices that turn lethargy into power around taking charge of your own prosperity and guiding your own future. These are the words to contemplate this month. Acceptance, Compassion, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Trust, Faith, Hope, Inspiration.

CLIMATE, WEATHER, THE ENVIRONMENT

Alternative energy and what to do about the environment will be part of the choices this month. Also look for choices personally of more responsibility around green living and preservation of the environment. These personal choices may be around food, vehicles, and consumption on all levels. There may be a need to choose greater acceptance of weather and climate as it affects personal plans, travel and projects. Choose flexibility rather than being stubborn around what you plan. Because of the movement and energized quality of the month, look for movement in weather, unpredictable from one day to the next, sudden storms and changes in temperature.

POLITICS AND GLOBAL ISSUES

Political choices that will have far reaching effects are in the process of being discussed and made on many levels. There is great movement this month in areas that have been at a standstill or face off. Many poor decisions of the past will be coming to light for redirection and new choices. There is also a greater movement towards collective choices affecting global issues, global politics, global economy and global environment. This movement will also have its opportunity for choices this month. Things are changing so fast that it is important on a personal level not to get too caught up in limited thinking but rather to choose an expanded attitude of optimism, trust and faith. Remember, evolution only goes in one direction.

IMPORTANT DATES

December 1-8: A time to consider what you have, what you don’t have, what is changing, what you resist, where you are ambivalent, where you are clear, what you are doing that you love, what you are doing that you hate, what you miss, what you want more of, what you want less of, what is irritating, what you fear, and what your choices are. Lay everything out on the table so you can see all the pieces of your life. Then begin to organize, categorize, choose, delete, add, and prioritize. Get help and support.

December 9-15: Choices, choices, choices. A time of expansion and contraction, confusion and movement. Stay focused on your own priorities, not someone else’s. You may feel pulled in a million different directions as this time of acceleration and expansion brings you more than you can deal with at one time. Make committed choices where you can, don’t worry about the choices you cannot make. Be ruthless around your purpose, your boundaries, and the choices that depend on others. Use the last vestiges of the influences of 2008 to their fullest, especially the King role, to help you complete whatever you can at this time.

December 12: Full Moon at 9:37AM Mountain Standard Time. Use the momentum and strength of this full moon to move yourself by your choice into a newer and better place in your life, whatever that may be, and however that wants to show up. What it definitely needs to include is doing something you love to do and being with those you choose to be with. If you are contemplating stepping into a new project, line of work, relationship, or environment, do something to honor that intention.

Astrological Notes
The Full Moon in Gemini, a mutable air sign, rules communication, the mind, restlessness and versatility. This December Full Moon has extra power as it is the last of five Super Moons (closest to the Earth) exerting more gravitational pull and influence on the planet and our body/mind selves than usual.
A Full Moon is always opposite the sign the Sun is in – this month Sagittarius. Sagittarius, a mutable fire sign, rules our aspirations, enthusiasm, travel, philosophy and beliefs.
The Full Moon opposite the Sun forms a Grand Square this month by crossing the opposition of Saturn and Uranus that we have been living with since the election on November 4th.
Saturn requires discipline, restraint, organization; it restricts, delays and strengthens. It represents the established, habitual course of action.
Uranus wants freedom, change, extremes; it makes us let go and gives us originality, experimentation, disruption and rebellion.
Saturn will remain in opposition to Uranus until August, 2009. Here is an energized opportunity to wake up and breakdown the patterns that no longer serve us and move our lives in the direction we have been too fearful, hesitant and entrenched to move towards.
Mars, planet of action, is conjoined with the Sun this month giving us extra courage to take action especially through mid-December.
From Thanksgiving, November 27 until January 1, 2009 no planets are retrograde for the first time this year, so All Systems are Go! Use this dynamic energy to move in the direction of your heart’s desire.
Astrological notes are provided by Patricia Liles, astrologer. To contact Pat for a chart or an update: patliles@aol.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

December 16-21: An unpredictable time of inspiration, consequences, emotional instability, possible depression, and uncertainty and questioning especially around recent choices and decisions. The best way to use this time is to follow your intuition rather than your mind, to trust your emotions, to lay low and to remove everything unimportant from your plate. Watch the distractions that can lead to self-destruction. Watch stubbornness as an energy that locks you down and makes your joints hurt. Do your daily spiritual practice with unrelenting discipline and stick to the choices you know are right for you no matter how others may judge them.

December 21: Winter Solstice at 5:04 AM Mountain Standard Time. Review your choices. Celebrate anything different in your life. Ritualize change. Honor the return of the light not just for this day but rather on a larger scale. Think about where in your life you need more light. Bring it in.

December 22-31: This may be a tough time for many. Keep the energy moving by breaking old patterns of tradition, imprinting, expectation and disappointment. Practice gratitude above all else and choose to be with loved ones rather than with obligations. Follow your heart and lead with your emotions. Continue working on choices and actions and change committed to earlier in the month.

December 27: New Moon at 5:23 AM Mountain Standard Time. Focus on the New Year. Set intentions. Review choices. Make ones that have been put off. Make an action plan to support your choices as you move into the new year.

Happy New Year everyone!

The you who feels connected with nature, with beauty, with all the stars in the sky, and those that cannot be seen with the eye; with the universal forces of truth, with love, and with beauty. Feel your physical body uniting with your soul as you awaken to the awareness that everything is connected. When you feel ready to do so, you may open your eyes.

<Shepherd/Michael> Good evening to you all. You are, collectively, at the beginning of a new cycle. Of course, this has to do with your election, but it is not so much that the election is the cause as much as it is a reflection of something that is happening at a deeper level. There has been a lengthy cycle in human experience that has, you might say, been an experiment in the use of force over others. You might compare it to a phase that children often go through. Babies are helpless; they cannot do too much to change their environment. They cry and hope that those who do have the power to do something will understand, and will act. As children are able to walk and have some basic manual dexterity, they are likely to experiment with using force over others. Of course, some children do this more than others. But it is not subtle; it is, in part, a reaction to the previous feeling of helplessness. At some point, most children gain new skills in which they can cooperate more.

Humanity as a whole has been weaving in and out of the experiment about using force over others to the experiment of using cooperation more. You might say that World War II was the apex of the idea of using force over others, and then there have been various aftershocks since then. People, thinking of World War II, can identify the good guys and the bad guys. But beyond that, both sides were experimenting with using force over others - one was more on the offense, and one was more on the defense.

The current presidential administration that is now concluding has been banging that drum loudly, branding it as good vs evil. Nothing happens in a vacuum. This government represented many people who were not yet done with the experiment of power over others, and so what has been going on has been the collective of humanity trying to wring the last drops of experience out of that paradigm. The idea of cooperation had been gaining adherents, but there were still sizeable numbers of people who were not done exploring the previous paradigm. There are still a number of people who believe more strongly in power over others than in cooperation. And there also still are people who are back to feeling helpless, like infants. But the underlying change is that enough people have decided that they are done with the experiment of power over others that your society as a whole feels ready to begin to leave that behind.

This will take a long time. There will be, no doubt, a number of moments in which some are ready to backtrack, saying this cooperation thing doesn't work. But many more can look back on recent history, particularly since World War II, and realize that power over others has not been working out very well for anyone. When more people agreed on the experiment of power over others, wars were more straightforward matters. One army fought another, and if one side won and the other gave up, that was all agreed upon. That really hasn't been happening very much in recent years. Instead, there have been eruptions; it has been far more localized, and it is becoming clear what has in fact has always been the case: that not very much is accomplished. Wars have really been about individual or nationalistic egos getting out of control, pitting self against others.

The early stages of the experiment in cooperation tend to be confusing. It takes a while to build up trust in the process. We suspect that each of you will be more overtly confronting the challenges of cooperation in the coming months and years.

We think you will particularly see this in the legal realm. It has been valuable, where there is a strong rule of law, that people have been able to experiment with force over others through a legal system rather than with a lethal weapon. But it has still largely been about wielding power over others. Lawsuits are mostly about power over others, whether your side is more selfish and destructive, or whether it's more positive. It's not really about that at all; it's really about the whole approach that is being used. So we think that you will see more and more people trying to work things out more cooperatively. We think you will also see a desire for the laws themselves to be more sensitive to the needs of individuals, less heavy-handed, and less about imposing one's will or belief over the other.

Let's do a little meditation. If you would, close your eyes. Ask your inner self to help you think of one situation in your life where there has been a paradigm of power over others - whether you've been on the giving or receiving end of that. And now ask your inner self to just bring the spirit of trust, openness, compassion, and understanding into your heart around this situation. And now think about the other side of this conflict, and ask that that also be bathed in these qualities. Gently surround this other side with qualities that feel good to you. And you're not imposing them if the other side does not want to experience these - they won't. Because you are not using any sort of power over them - you are simply using your heart to create a more loving environment.

Now ask your inner self to suggest one thing that you might do or say that might shift this conflict to a more cooperative approach. Perhaps it is simply indicating to the other side that you are listening, or that you are respectful. That you're open to ideas, and willing to talk. And now ask that all of the old feelings of helplessness that led to the polarization into power over others be healed in you. Just the fact of your having considered some options might make you feel more internally powerful and less helpless in the situation.

Ask yourself if you are ready to end your personal experiment in power over others, and to experiment more with the power of cooperation. If you are not ready to make that change, that is OK. Just see what is true for you.

And now notice in general how you feel. When you are ready, you can open your eyes again. Would anyone like to share what you experienced? How are you feeling in general? Where has this journey this evening so far taken you?

Attendee: I would love to share where I've been, but I have no idea. But I do feel good. I do feel very good. I just kind of drifted off somewhere. Wherever I go, it's a nice place.

Thank you. Anyone else?

Attendee: When we did the meditation, what came to mind was the bad relations between me and my familyà..I feel that I can let go of this. In my case it's about fear, lack of trustàthe need to protect myselfàthere's a lot of work to be doneà (Much of the comment was inaudible.)

That's very beautiful; thank you.

Michael: What this is finally about is your own healing. With infants, they are helpless, and so it's a fact. It's not a victimhood; it's just a fact that an infant is helpless and relies on others and others donÆt always do their best by the helpless ones. However, as you naturally mature, and you have more fully developed capabilities, you are no longer in fact helpless, but you may not have updated your software about that and still feel that you are helpless and so you then maintain defenses. It is widely understood that bullies are very insecure people. They have found a coarse way of having power over others because they don't feel that they have other tools to use. As you heal, you take stock of the tools that are at your disposal, and you get better at using them, and therefore you don't need the coarser tools which don't feel as good to you as using the more sophisticated tools.

Marjorie was saying that her healing around her family did not necessarily imply that she would choose to have relationships with them. That is a choice that she will now be better able to make, based on a realistic appraisal of the facts and intuition as to what's really possible there. But she can now be freer of the energy drain of keeping them away. Instead, there can just be a peace, and then a choice.

Considering the fact that there are still a lot of bullies in the world who are not able to be reached through more cooperative means, there still is a need for some occasional military show of strength against those who would violate others, and yet, we think that as there is more maturity, this will be used increasingly sparingly, only when it is absolutely necessary, and this could also be said to be true in your own lives. We're not saying here that you should never sue anyone, but as you increasingly feel your own toolbox being activated and you don't have to prove anything - where you can let go when that is hour highest good - then you have a lot more options.

The greatest fear in letting go of an excessive attachment to using power over others is the fear that others will use power over you. This is most obviously represented in the political consciousness today of fear over terrorists. It's similar to the days of the fear of communism in this country, where there was concern that there was a red under every bed and anyone could be a communist, and so you had all sorts of accusations flying, mostly unfairly. And even in your recent political campaign you had frightened, insecure people accusing the other side of being terrorists. This is what it is like to be a very vulnerable and young child who does not have a safe environment. Maybe you can think back to your earliest days in this lifetime in which you had nightmares and a light had to be left on. You saw shadows, and thought maybe they were the boogeyman.

Sometimes there are, in fact, prowlers in the house - but not very often. That is the point. When you start to feel more secure, you can evaluate what the real situation is. And then you start to feel better. You're not on red alert all the time; just when you need to be.

We're not, tonight, suggesting being na´ve to real dangers. Pretending that everything is always wonderful is often just the flip side of the fear that everything is terrible; it is based on fear of not wanting to confront dangers. You do have a survival instinct for a good reason. But those who are still heavily experimenting in power over others figured out a long time ago that they could have power over others by pushing the buttons of people's fears when they are not warranted.

When he was leaving office, President Eisenhower warned about the encroaching military-industrial complex. It has long been the case that there are people who profit from war and its other similar kinds of manifestations, and have a vested interest in increasing fear. That can be a self-fulfilling prophecy, because when two sides are polarized in fear it's probably just a matter of time before one of them does something that makes the other side feel justified in fighting back. At the same time, a cooperative approach can also be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Putting out to others kindness and openness makes it more possible that they will do the same. At Christmas every year people say, "Peace on Earth; Good Will to Men," but there have been many who really don't want peace on earth because they stand to profit from conflict, in one way or another.

The best way that you personally can contribute to peace on earth is to realize that you no longer feel much of a payoff from it, and to realize that there are other means of resolving issues. So this is where you are now, collectively. There is a slight, subtle, but meaningful shift in your society that says, in effect, "OK, we don't really understand this cooperation thing very well, and we're not sure how to do it, but we're kind of sick and tired of the way that we've been trying to solve things for quite some time. So, OK, we will grudgingly stick our toe in the water of approaching others in a more respectful and open-hearted way when we find ourselves on opposite sides of an issue."

We do not know how long it will take to get from this grudging acceptance to the point where a lot of people are saying, "Hey this is really great; I like this a lot better. Let's just really get rid of this war business and all of its cousins - this extreme litigiousness, and all of the us-vs-them framing of events. But it could move from here to there pretty quickly. The reason we think that it could is that you've really been lingering in the old experiment for a very long time. It really need not have gone on so long, or have been so destructive. And so you might say there is a pent-up demand for peace. With the current financial situation, a lot of people might wake up to the fact that war is very expensive, so that could be a silver lining to what is happening in that regard. There is a beautiful energy in this group tonight here, in this room. You are saying in your hearts that you would like to support this new experiment, and that can help foster more widespread adoption. What you do in your own heart can be contagious, and as you validate this, you try it out and you see that you are having a positive impact on others, you start to feel more powerful and less helpless even when bad things are happening. And the more powerful you feel, the less need there is to try to control others. That's another way this new experiment can pick up speed.

Would anyone like to make any comments or ask any questions on this subject that we've been speaking about so far tonight?

Attendee: I can't think of a word that I want to use, but it's so clear to me how you mention that this fear, so many people are reacting out of fear, and there's so many angry things and mean things and fighting and who's right and it really is all about fear. It's just helped me to understand and grasp that a little bit better. I have more understanding for the people that are saying mean things. Thank you.

Michael: Thank you. What is inside people has to come out, one way or another. Although, from one point of view, what has been going on politically over the last years has been a regression. From another point of view it has been useful, because it has allowed some old fears to take center stage where everyone could get a good hard look at them. Now there's an opportunity, politically, in this country, to reach out to those who are worried that everything that they hold dear is threatened, and perhaps reassure them that things are OK. Because that is what people really want to know; they want to know that things are OK.

You have a question, a comment?

Attendee: A few times a year I draw the parallel or make the connection between what is happening in my individual personal life and what's happening in the consciousness of humanity. And it's like I stop, and I see that connection very clearly: where I'm afraid, where I have greed and selfishness, where I have fearsàit's the same as what's happening with other people. And so this conversation is speaking to that, validating that, and it's reminding me of where I do have control, where I do have power, and where the change needs to really happen.

Michael: Beautiful; thank you very much.

Making the connection between what you see and what you are is very useful.

Attendee: You know, I think I kind of remember where I went in that meditation and it has to do with just a little bit ofàyou had said early on to think about a situation where someone had power over you and of course I thought of a person who tried to force their way in my house, many years ago now, and that created a fear of the safety of my family for a very long time. Then you mentioned going on their side and then, that's kind of where I'm at, and I realize now that I've forgiven them over the years, and so I have this relief. But I still know that there are a small group of angry people out there that we have to be aware of. But yet, I guess I don't fear that, so maybe that's part of the healing process.

Michael: There's nothing wrong with taking sensible cautions, good locks, an alarm system if you feel it's warranted where you live, that sort of thing, and you don't necessarily act out of fear to do that; it could just be common sense. On the other hand, sometimes things happening to you are an outpicturing of your psychic drama inside. So someone breaking into your house may or may not represent some fear that you have. And sometimes you have to have that experience and then survive it in order to flush it out from your own consciousness. But it's always worth looking at, to see if maybe that is the case. Sometimes it is just chance or bad luck, too, so you don't want to over-generalize in that regard. But the very fact that you are sensible enough to take responsible precautions is part of your toolkit so that you don't have to be in fear. You know that you are taking care of yourself the best that you can.

Attendee: And I suppose we can have an affect on the anger and the fear that other people are having by just what you said - and that's feeling love and kindness towards each other. It's contagious. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems to me that there are more metaphysical and enlightened people around now than there were ten years ago. Maybe it's just because I'm just noticing them. Is that it - or are there more?

Michael: We think that there are more.

Attendee: So it's growth for our time.

Michael: Everyone is growing slowly or quickly, even those who appear to be backtracking; they are collecting experiences that will ultimately contribute to their growth. But people do have far more access to knowledge than ever before. Of course, the internet is good for that, television and so forthàthere's a lot of bad information being put out, but there's a lot of good stuff, too. So people are starting to be attracted to the idea that growth does not have to be so tedious, that there are ways to become more conscious with less wear and tear.

Attendee: Could this be seen as moving to a new planetary soul age - would you categorize it that way? And if so, do individual soul ages work on that particular issue in their cycle, or am I relating too many things together?

Michael: We would agree with what you're saying here. We teach about five soul ages that are commonly experienced by humans and other ensouled species on the physical plane. To give you a little background, you start out as what you are - an eternal soul who comes to a particular planet to inhabit a particular species, in your case obviously the human species, in a series of lifetimes in order to evolve, to expand your horizons. And your progress over many lifetimes is roughly equivalent to what you experience as an individual within each lifetime. That is, you start out as an infant, where your experiences are quite simple. Then you move to the baby or toddler stage where you are establishing a basic structure; it's the way that toddlers learn about "yes" and "no." And then a young phase - a youngster phase - where you are gaining a lot of energy relative to acting in the world. And that is where humanity has been on average - the young soul cycle. And the United States has been focused at the late end of the young soul cycle.

So there's a lot of energy there, but on the negative side, there can be bullying; there can be fascination with things like building a big military because it's something that is easy to understand at that stage in development. Just like a lot of kids will play with action figures - it's a comparable stage. And then next comes the mature soul cycle, which is equivalent in human development to the adolescent phase. Adolescents have a lot of confusing new impulses wanting to relate to other people in a deeper way, wanting to get to know themselves and their own feelings more. And this is what humanity is just at the beginning of moving into.

So, although this is a bit of an oversimplification, we would say that the Bush administration was, for the United States, the last hurrah of the young soul cycle, with maybe a negative twist to it. It's (the young cycle) not always negative; it can be quite wonderful in many ways, quite exhilarating. The Obama election represents a turn for the mature cycle, which is more of a valuing of emotions and connecting with others in a more intimate manner. Now, young souls have relationships too, so it's not like suddenly there are relationships where there were none. But there is a different emphasis; there is less of taking relationships for granted and more of a desire to explore them, to see what they are all about.

Cooperation is much more a hallmark of the mature cycle than the young cycle, although certainly, young souls can cooperate and can see that as a positive way of experiencing their vitality in the world. And mature souls can use power over others and be manipulative, sometimes more psychologically, but there can still be an experiment in power over others in the mature cycle. There's a parallel in that there's also a specific decision being made, regardless of the soul age parallels - that people have experimented enough with more negative approaches to resolving issues with others.

The transition is not just in terms of maturing consciousness going through the stages of evolution. There's also a decision being made that maybe we don't have to do this so destructively; maybe we don't have to do this so much the hard way. We can find more positive ways of figuring this out together, so that even people who are currently at the infant soul or the baby soul cycle can have an experience that is more cooperative.

Anyone else?

Attendee: I think Obama brings a lot of characteristics that we are currently lacking. When you said that there's an increasing desire for the laws to be more sensitive and less heavy-handed, I feel dismay about some of the laws that were passed in the last election that seemed to take us a step backward in being able to bring all people togetheràthere were some laws that were passed that were very discriminatory. Do you have any comments on that?

Michael: Individuals and collectives do not evolve at the same pace in every department. We would say that people have more fear around sex than just about anything else. And we don't mean just what is classified as sex, but everything that would come under that overall classification, which is the power of your energy to impact and explode with others who are creating with you. That's truly what sex is. Even if you are not having physical sexual relations, you still have this potentially explosive energy in interacting with others, and with the cosmos as a whole. While people are afraid of being powerless, they are also afraid of being powerful because there is not a lot of experience at harnessing that. And so a lot of this baggage is dumped onto the idea of sex, and any form of it that is a little foreign reminds people of their generalized fear of the power within them actually manifesting in their lives. So, yes, some regressive steps were taken in some state elections; although those who are winning these restrictions are doing so by smaller margins, so that is a positive sign.

So much in evolution is two steps forward and one step back. You can rest in confidence that things will eventually get there. There are always those of you who are out in front of everyone else trying to get everyone else to catch up. Many people are not as eager to move forward because that means facing more things within themselves. It is not easy to grow. Both presidential candidates were talking about change - itÆs a vague enough term that you can safely do that, but all change suggests overcoming a certain resistance in yourself because it's for certain that change is going to bring up things in yourself that are going to be uncomfortable.

Sometimes people will not actually accept change until staying where they are becomes more uncomfortable than what they're going to have to face in the change. And a lot of human beings are so stubbornly resistant to change that the only way that the societies they're in will change will be for them to die. And then they reincarnate into a new set of assumptions that pushes them a little bit beyond where they were holding onto before.

The pace of change today is much faster in than in most historical time periods, and having a longer life span helps with that, except for those who are stuck. They feel more pressure, and they don't like it because they're living longer, and things are changing underneath them.

You really don't want things to change too fast because you become disoriented; but if they are too slow, you feel less alive. So there is a sweet spot to go for there.

Attendee: For me personally, last night, I felt a tremendous shift in energy regarding the issue of race in our country. And I know that we can only speak in probabilities, but we're talking about cooperation, and a shift away from exerting power over other people. And I think of race when I hear about exerting power over other people - and also cooperation. Can you talk about what is probable of what is to come, and if maybe we are going to experience rapid progress in that area because of the power of having the symbol of a black president now.

Michael: We think it's going to take a while before people are widely completely neutral about race. There's been, obviously, a lot of progress, and like we were speaking of earlier, some people will hold onto their racism to the grave. Society just has to wait for a certain part of the population to die off for this to change. But we think that younger people are impressively free of a lot of prejudices that their elders have, and a lot of that has to do with the media, with the movies, and television, and sex, which is not always, obviously, a positive influence, but when you grow up seeing stars that you identify with that are of different races, you will tend to not take on so much of your parents' or grandparents' racism. So what is happening is positive, but we don't think you're going to get rid of all blatant prejudice over the next 50 years. It will gradually become less and less accepted.

Attendee: I have mixed feelings about asking this question, but I have to ask it, anyway. I've been feeling very joyfully hopeful about Obama and the possibility that he'll be a very good president, and yet, history has shown that when we have a more progressive president it is more likely that some fear-based, stuck person is going to come out of the woodwork and try to assassinate them. Could Michael speak about the probability of Obama finishing his term in health and well-being?

Michael: All right. One of the positives about the fact that many people have brought this up, particularly over the last year or so, is that collectively humanity, particularly in the United States, has had a chance to mull this over. So a lot of people on an unconscious level have been pondering, "Is this how we want to go? Do we need to have a beloved president be martyred in order to progress, or could we keep him around and have progress without people needing to be heartbroken?" And you know there's a lot of growth through being heartbroken, because many will not grow unless something gets broken first. It's just too easy not to grow.

Now that this election has occurred, the issue comes more squarely to be faced, and our sense is that the collective leaning is towards: "We've had enough drama. Maybe we could just see what this guy might do for us." We would not say that it is a firm collective decision, but as long as there's a strong leaning that way, there's a likelihood of safety, and of course we do think that the security is very strong around him, and needs to be, anyway.

The way to approach this is to reaffirm your own ability to grow through joy in your own life, affirming every day that you are flexible and fluid, that you are willing to solve problems creatively, and that you donÆt have to be broken to grow, and seeing the collective being able to do that also.

Attendee: Could Michael speak a little bit about the cooperation between planet's ecology and humanity in the next couple of decades, including the possibilities for technological and consciousness improvements in that arena?

Michael: We think the potential is very good, and this is a great example of this change because so much of humanity's raping of the environment has been a perfect example of the power-over-others paradigm, and there are many people who are recognizing that it is not working. So, similar to the thing about war, there is more widespread desire to figure out a way to cooperate with nature.

But there are still a lot of people who are of the belief that it's a luxury, not a necessity. That needs to change, but also, as the technologies become better and less expensive, that also will become less of an issue, we think. It's a really tricky thing because people are afraid that they will lose their conveniences, and yet, they may lose them anyway. So it behooves people to adopt changes by choice.

We have said, not that long ago, that because of the destruction of the environment, we had no certainty that humanity would survive what it has done to the earth. We thought it was, roughly, in the 50 - 50 range. We would say it's looking better now. It is not certain, but it is looking better. We would think that the best way to promote wider acceptance of ecological sensitivity is to demonstrate in graphic ways how it can actually save people money. Because right up there with sex, one of the big fear areas for people is money. So you've got to show them how it is to their advantage financially.

We'll take one more question.

Attendee: As we change here, in this country, it's pretty obvious from the solar plants here in Arizona that a lot of us are embracing these changes - I'm looking forward to that - that it will affect other parts of the world. Maybe it almost forces changes on them, for instance, if we do become very efficient with our solar farms and our wind farms, and use much less fossil fuel, then the money that we're sending to the OPECS of the world we won't be sending them. And if other countries also grow as we are, and we don't send them that money, how will they deal with the change that is happening to them?

Michael: The big picture here is that the industrialization of the world has been rapid and not very elegant - not very efficient. So there's been a great deal of waste. And you see this in individuals who, when they have money, waste it on things that they need, and then suddenly they don't have enough money for the things that they do need. You have this collectively, very much. The production of energy has not been very efficient, and it really hasn't needed to be, but now it does need to be. So even in a country that has a relatively high amount of oil, they are finding that they need to be efficient also, that they need to use their oil for things that they don't have substitutes for. We donÆt think it is so much that the improvements in the United States will force improvements elsewhere, but this is something emerging out of necessity for everyone.

We'll take a few questions.

Attendee: ...About the election in America, and the impact on the rest of the worldàI would say that in many ways you could say that, "America, welcome to the rest of the world." Because in the rest of the world you have societies that are higher developed than over here, and then you have societies that are lower developed, so it's just become part of the whole thing. So, America, welcome to the rest of the world. My question is about the wildlife. I'm very concerned about species dying out, and since we're all interconnected, then for every species, (including insects) that die out, a part of us also dies. So I'm thinking about the importance of saving the lives of animals. I hear others say that they're not that important, because they will go on and incarnate on other planets. I'd like to hear Michael's opinion about the animals.

Michael: All right. Of course, there has already been a substantial loss of plant and animal species on earth, and they are dying out by the day. This is not optimal, but we think that in about 50 years that will stabilize, and some of the diversity will actually start to come back. There are some species that may have appeared to die out but didn't, and given the right circumstances, will re-emerge. We think that things will be OK in that regard, but it is not ideal. It is better to have more diversity. Does that answer your question? [Yes.]

We'd like to close with a meditation. Clear your minds.

Feel the goodness emerging from your heart. Notice all the resources that you already have. Feel all fear releasing from you. Feel the beauty of the collective energy in this room.

Notice the power of self. It is independent of the choices that others make.

When you are ready, you can open your eyes.

Being human will always be somewhat challenging. But reminding yourselves of the increased tools that you have as you awaken spiritually for dealing with the world, it becomes easier. And that is really why you take the spiritual path. It is in your enlightened self-interest to get better at playing this game so that it isn't quite so difficult. Human relationships will always offer challenges, and that is not a bad thing because they show you where you have opportunities to grow, but approaching them with the idea that you could experiment with cooperation will make your own way easier. So it is a worthwhile experiment.

Love and blessings to you all. Good night.

http://www.polarisrising.com/december-2008.html

December 2008

Many of you have been experiencing the energy surrounding quite a large shift, a lot of movement. We have been talking to you for some time about changes and transitions, breathing in and out: a lot of change. This will of course continue throughout your lifetime, but this month, December 2008, marks for a great many of you a shift into another reality, a nexus, a different way of perceiving, a different consciousness. You can also call it a parallel world.
A new parallel...

Together many of you have made the shift into the same new parallel world. It is not as if you have left a world behind that is now empty of your presence, because that is not so. But you have all moved together. There was a mass movement in consciousness happening at about the beginning of this month, centering about that time. There is still a window of opportunity that some of you are still immersed in at this point. Some of you have already made a shift and are feeling a bit more relaxed as a result. You have new plans and new challenges. There is a sense of beginning for many of you. There has also been a sense of ending for many of you. All of you experiencing this intense shift have been involved with this sense of endings and beginnings. If you look at what has been going on in your lives, you will be able to mark almost to the day and hour when this occurred for you.
Why this? Why now? Why me?

There are a great many of you who have been involved in a great many projects together in making changes socially, environmentally and energetically. Some of you are aware of this "work" you do; some are not as aware and there is nothing better or worse in having this awareness or not having it. Because of this project and this set of projects that many of you have been involved with, you have collectively—on a global basis—made some choices and decisions regarding the future of the planet, the people, and where you are headed energetically. Many of you decided to create a new direction that you could take together so as to begin to come in closer contact with one another on an energetic basis.

For some of you this will be an increase over the next five years in your dreams. You will be involved in these projects more heavily and be more consciously aware of them on a dream level.

Others of you will begin exchanging on a physical basis. You will find yourself moving physically to new locations so that you are living in closer proximity to those with whom you feel very energetically connected.

Other people still will find that they are one among many where they are sending their own ripples of intention out around a large majority of people around them who are not connected energetically - but what this does is to raise the ‘vibration' of all those around you.

Some of you who are involved in this project will feel more isolated because you are seemingly the one lone voice in this big sea of other people around you—but you are helping them by being so. Understand that when you feel three years from now, for instance, "what have I done wrong? I'm all alone!", you will understand that you are part of this choice. You made this choice collectively with many, many, many other people doing the same thing and you are having the same effect as if you are involved physically, talking with people in living rooms, giving presentations to large numbers of people in a room, or writing books that will be read by many people. You are all having an effect on others—on everyone. You chose to do this. You were "elected" to be doing this; it is part of this global choice.
The reality you left behind...

What happens to the world you left behind? We cannot say that we predict any tragedy; it is just that these energetic changes and movement toward overall community will not be happening on the same level in that world—and that is all right. You still have awareness and consciousness "back there", and this is part of why you feel a little bit out of sorts lately. You've made some changes, you're dividing your energy, and you have ties to what is continuing on in that parallel world. But those ties will diminish as time goes on.

Again, we can't say that there are large changes expected between one parallel and another, but we would say that the parallel that you are operating in seems to be moving toward a sense of heightened community. This is going to take quite a number of years to manifest, and there will be quite a number of ups and downs in the process until that happens.
What else is happening this month?

What else can you expect for December? On a personal and emotional level, we would expect things to quiet for many of you. It becomes, after a very energetic upheaval of a beginning, more of an introspective month of relaxation, going back within, honoring the choices that make you feel more like who you are. So if you find yourself, for instance, craving something that you haven't had since you were a child, and remembering the joy that you had from that thing, then we would not be surprised. This would be the time for those types of things to come up for you.
More big change ahead...

In terms of other energetic incidence and events, we would say that there is likely to be a significant energetic event occurring towards the end of the month. We are reminded of the tsunami that occurred a few years ago that occurred at that time of the year, and we would not be surprised if there was a similar large scale world event occurring in the last few days of this month. In the end, such an event would serve to solidify the connection that people between one another, but we understand that this happens with its consequences.
And what about next year?

In terms of the upcoming year we will have more to say in a month's time, but what we see overall is a renewed sense of hope for the future for most people, even as times become more and more difficult. It is simply that more of you will become involved with living your lives on a day to day basis rather than spending as much time and energy worrying about what may happen, what may arise from your choices. You will simply be more immersed in your own present, and as a result feel more comfortable and joyful.
