Default totally OT, any scientists (or pharmacists) in the house?

I'm trying to figure out how much citric acid to buy and it is sold in weight, and I have an amount in volume.

I will have a total of 740 fluid oz of water, and will need to use 2 tsp of citric acid to 3 fl oz of water.

I figure this is a total of 740 divided by 3, times 2tsp = 493.33 tsp, and 3 tsp make a tablespoon and 2 tablespoons make an oz, so I will need 82.22 oz, but this is volume. So I can't translate this over to 82.22 divided by 16 to make a pound, and I have to buy it in weight.

Anyone got a clue??? I don't seem to be able to google the conversion.

Baggywrinkle?

Thanks,
alys

Thanks, oldpagan, I'm trying to figure out what an ounce of citric acid powder by volume will weight. I may not have made that clear enough.
