Default HR 2749 - Another Fake Food Safety Bill

This blog post describes HR 2749: Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009, which was introduced June 8, 2009. Here is the post:

Another fake food safety bill…….HR 2749 The latest assault from the District of Criminals

At every turn, from every angle and at every opportunity our own government, the same people we voted into office to protect and defend us, to honor the Constitution, prove they are not only unworthy but also dead set against us.

The pressure in the District of Criminals must be great. The deadline looms for compliance with Codex Alimentarius and the World Trade Organization’s demands. No doubt “cooperative agreements” of all sizes and kinds from many different sources have been made with congressional members who obviously have assured the behind the scenes power brokers that they can in fact, deliver the US to international control and codify Codex into US Law.

Many of us staggered in disbelief over the contents of the fake food safety bills which are nothing more than the planned control of food production and supply, the police state powers granted either to the dysfunctional FDA and USDA, or the creation of an altogether new police state agency dedicated to enforcement, we are now faced with the new and more ominous bill, HR 2749.

Rep. John Dingell [D-MI15]

Cosponsors [as of 2009-06-12]

Rep. Diana DeGette [D-CO1]

Rep. Frank Pallone [D-NJ6]

Rep. Betty Sutton [D-OH13]

Rep. Bart Stupak [D-MI1]

Rep. Henry Waxman [D-CA30]

HR 2749:

* would impose an annual registration fee of $500 on any “facility” that holds, processes, or manufactures food. Although “farms” are exempt, the agency has defined “farm” narrowly. And people making foods such as lacto-fermented vegetables, cheeses, or breads would be required to register and pay the fee, which could drive beginning and small producers out of business during difficult economic times.

* would empower FDA to regulate how crops are raised and harvested. It puts the federal government right on the farm, dictating to our farmers.

* would give FDA the power to order a quarantine of a geographic area, including “prohibiting or restricting the movement of food or of any vehicle being used or that has been used to transport or hold such food within the geographic area.” Under this provision, farmers markets and local food sources could be shut down, even if they are not the source of the contamination.

A backdoor NAIS (National Animal Identification System)?

* charges the Secretary of Health and Human Services with establishing a tracing system for food. Each “person who produces, manufactures, processes, packs, transports, or holds such food” would have to “maintain the full pedigree of the origin and previous distribution history of the food,” and “establish and maintain a system for tracing the food that is interoperable with the systems established and maintained by other such persons.”

* creates severe criminal and civil penalties, including prison terms of up to 10 years and/or fines of up to $100,000 for each violation for individuals.

I can’t help but wonder how these traitors to the people of the US are able to face themselves in light of the egregious assaults on not only our integrity as a nation, but as one human being to another. In what appears to be collusion with biopiracy corporations, a Monsanto shill is to be the planned food czar in the White House and biopiracy corporations seem to have no difficulty in meeting with members of congress….for whatever reasons. Yet, you and I are unlikely to even be considered or acknowledged for any reason.

If ever there has been an argument for term limits, for ending accumulated power and its accompanying corruption, these bills, all dedicated to ending our sovereignty, limiting our access to food, and handing our food production and supply over to multi-national corporate monsters who have neither morals nor conscience ….surely, this has to be that argument.

I think this is probably an accurate summation of the problem. It's part of the New World Order. And Congress is just going along to get along...with the powers that be.

That is what we're up against...
