Pleasantly surprised to find the Yin-Yang symbol on the PA header this morning.

One moment please as I take a sip of my coffee
https://media1.popsugar-assets.com/files/thumbor/cdfOx7Zzyj5sBm1mLjemBJMZQaE/fit-in/1024x1024/filters:format_auto-!!-:strip_icc-!!-/2012/09/39/3/192/1922195/81485b01898e48d8_404794e6026211e2af9022000a1c9e2c_ 7/i/Ying-Yang.jpeg ;)

One way of seeing the symbol and concept is as the big yawn. The yawn is both represented upon the awakening process and the yawn encountered before sleep overtakes. I suspect most on PA are into the later.

So, GOOD MORNING AVALON! May your days always be bright!!

Is that your own concept O Donna? Looking for "the big yawn" ying yang in Google just circles back here to this forum posting...
Yawning is definitely something special, I'm certainly not trying to imply that it isn't. I'm interested to know where that came from.
New header looks very pretty! I like the symmetry of the symbol and the cool lighting.

I value yin yang also. I like the header too.

That's a honed inquisitive nature you have there, Petra! I like it.

A more accurate description is an inspired concept.

The OP formulated in real-time through me. Never before the moment of composing the post had I used or seen the concept before. It flowed through me as if it was meant to be written the first time I saw the new PA header graphics. It was only after I composed the post did I look back and understand the message. As a bonus I thought it was a perfect homage to PA and "The Chronicles of the human awakening". I do believe many people around the world are in throws of a new awakening. (The music clips included in OP were inspired in the same way)

More clearly the threads is for comments about the OP. In addition a space for sharing personal stories of inspiration during the awakening process or other things inspiring the process encountered.

I have to ask. Where is the symbol? I don't see it. :sherlock:

It appears from time to time as the background picture to the Avalon Banner.

Thanks Herve. I'll be on the lookout for it, but have yet to see it.

Thanks O'Donna. Sitting on my porch, listening to Cat Stevens, watching the horses and hearing the birds.

All I see is that Holiday tree and Christmas ball on it.!!
Was wondering when it would change...

Hi all :waving:

Paul attempted to 'splain to us, humble disciples of his geekiness, how some browsers are kind of lazy and if they don't have to refresh an entire web page, said browsers' first choice is to pull out what they have in their "Cache" reserves... (savings off the page loading time coupons already in store)

So, the magic formula Paul imparted is to press the following keys simultaneously:

Ctrl + Shift + R

... that should refresh (R) the whole page via some Linux wizardry hidden at the core of most browsers.

Wow! We took that down on 6 Jan, some 5 weeks ago. (Twelfth Night...! :) )

Hervé's quite right (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?101685-Yin-Yang-symbol-on-the-PA-Forum-header&p=1207233&viewfull=1#post1207233): this is a browser cache thing. It's trying to help, in a dumb way, by continually pulling up and showing the OLD image, which is stored in its memory. The cache isn't smart enough to know that was updated long ago.

The banner image rotates, randomly, every 24 hours. There are half a dozen or so which it picks from. We're all supposed to see the daily changes, but the viewer's cache often conspires against us. :)

This conversation about seeing and not seeing (the header) had me thinking about the power of conspiracy. How a well orchestrated conspiracy could challenge the few that see through the veil to doubt what they see when those around them don't see it and look or treat them like they're crazy or "conspiracy nuts".

Dark night or twilight a symbol for a pervasive conspiracy.

Morning breaking through symbolizes more and more people awakening with eyes that pierce the veil.

Awakening is like a recovery from addiction.

Fed lies, many times since birth, so much so that it is the 'norm' for many. I have heard that those addicted to a substance get to a point where consume the substance just to get back to 'normal'. A vicious cycle to be caught up in.

First step in recovery is to admit/ recognize there is a veil of sort. That first recognition is symbolized as the first ray(s) of light.

It's a bumpy ride waking up for many of us (myself included) but I am here to say, it is by far the best thing anyone can ever do for themselves, humankind, and the earth.

Ha ha thanks I guess. I was mostly just seeing the balance symbology again, but really can't it symbolize whatever you like? It kind of does look like it's yawning at me...! Symmetry is beautiful, I can understand that a lot better than balance too.

That's just perfect :)

I wish I had an inspirational awakening story to contribute. Mine so far is just the tale of my having the crap scared out of me. A good analogy would probably be like when you sneak up on your sleeping friend and say BOO, and the person falls right out of the bed.

Oh my gosh yes. I like to think of the symbol as Multilingual as one example. It's a great overall symbol of the mind and a stylized Pandora's Box. I believe no religion, organization (at least for personal use), or what have you has a monopoly on any symbol when deriving meaning from it.

I'm glad you brought up the subject, I would not want people thinking I was saying something like "this is what the symbol really means or anything of the sort.

I enjoy reading about peoples research into modern symbology as well as the old.

Did I read too much into the level of your inquisitive nature? If so, apologies, I do that sometimes.

Me too, I just find symbology fascinating, even dream symbology which rarely makes sense to me.

The thing about yawning has my mind reeling! I swear there was a time when I actually had a yawning fit. It was like it would not stop! I didn't even know fits could happen with yawning. It hasn't happened since, but I recall thinking it felt like something was trying to make me go to sleep but it wasn't working (lol)

I also remember guessing, that was funny too. "Why am I yawning so much? Am I bored? Do I need Oxygen?" LOL

NO! You're spot on and no apology needed.
I wouldn't call it inquisitive so much as suspicious. I have a suspicious nature, but also have a polite nature too... :)
I know there's something up when I get suspicious of something as harmless as Yin Yang symbol! Maybe it was the a combination of that and the yawning thing, I don't know.
