Wow, I just saw this thread... thank you !! :Party:

I'm celebrating tomorrow by getting up at 3 am to go climb the region's highest mountain: Cerro Arquitectos, 14,585 ft.

Here's a nice little video I found. You can see the peak from 3:00, marked by a prominent white pillar. The photography is spectacular (having a drone with a camera helps!), but it really does look like this.

That'll be the venue for a wee celebration. I'm taking a tiny 4 oz cheesecake with me as a special treat, and for Mara the dog, I'm hauling a couple of lbs of juicy bones. (This has never happened before on any of our expeditions... she'll be delighted but astonished!) I'll have a small flask of hot chocolate as well, and I'll drink a toast to you all. Wish you were here.

I'll post a few photos on my return, about 24 hours from now. Thank you all again!

Hope you had a nice birthday. The video of Parque Nacional Cajas is absolutely breathtaking. What a raw, wild, gorgeous, (but relatively inhospitable) landscape.

I'm sure that if I trained really hard, that I could make the first 585 vertical feet of the 14,585 ft. climb to Cerro Arquitectos. You sure picked an amazing venue for a birthday party.

Happy Birthday Bill! I rarely wait for any special occasion to wish anyone well, letting it come as it will, which is more often then once a year. On this occasion I THANK You for providing the only place I'd feel I can contribute in an open hearted way.
It does take a while for anyone to see the value of such a loving place prove itself and your guidance, learning and tolerance has done just this, over such a long span of time. (In fact I was just listening to one of Kerry's interviews where she said, almost flippantly, more than once that an interviewee died just after she had done an interview with them. That is some burden to carry, even if the subject is well aware of the possibilities of going public and knowing that tptb do even remove some whom they have given disinfo to as they spread another illusion. Either way.....I appreciate much you both do. )

Yes, it's takes a village of such like, and even very dissimilar, viewpoints to make it happen and in the same breath of thanking you we thank the many who have shared and served others, for this is always the full value of such a forum.
