New research from NASA's Lunar Science Institute indicates that the solar wind may be charging certain regions at the lunar poles to hundreds of volts.
And you know what that means: potential and viable solution for energy production.

But now that Constellation and return-to-the-moon program have just been scrapped, the research is almost pointless, it seems NASA's Lunar Science team efforts are ultimately going to be in vein. If this is confirmed by the way, that "hundreds" of volts are naturally produced at the poles, then its gonna be pretty devastating, particularly for the NASA people who've been planning for years to come up with some way to build an outpost at one of the polar regions, and from there begin traversing to far away distances, but that's all gone now.
