Good catch, Whitehaze. Thank you.

The use of subliminals was a big topic about 25-30 years ago when someone had caught one frame in a movie that showed a coca cola can. It worked well enough that sales of coke increased at the theaters where it was shown. Then out came books with pictures showing the subliminals in print ads. But then, like similar topics, it faded from discussions and was eventually forgotten by many.

After several re-reads of the subliminal message, I'm curious to know who put the message between commercials. Odd placement and apparently quite deliberate, like the intent was for it to be found. Who would have access to such a space...someone who works at the network, or perhaps someone at the local station or cable company? Doesn't sound like something tptb would have done...or does it?

They sure are !

It was the sub title to the clip (not my words )

Symbols are symbols and do not belong to some one !

But if we look at symbols as subcontius message then one can recognice them as symbols used by masons or illuminati !

Phallos symbols on the building big doors (entrence to the womb) the cave the tempel ! Pillars the statues with swords to the sky !

Also symbols in the building !

Then one can se what is hapening to the building !

Just some loose toughts about it !

3rd of April 2011 my 15 year old lad was watching Two And a Half Men with Charlie Sheen on Comedy Central in the UK. During the advert breaks these messages kept flashing up, so he got my camera and started rerecording the adverts, when he showed me one it seemed they actually had some importance so we began recording during every break for the next 3 hours and this is what came up with.

I am totally unsure about the effect of subliminals. I used to hold the opinion that subliminals have little effect, but now I am considering a change in view. A good but uncompleted scientific investigation here: http://ezinearticles.com/?Scientific-Studies-Into-Subliminal-Messages&id=1477565

finally there!!!

Wow, that list of black words seems to certainly speak volumes.
Though it is a comedy show, so it might be a joke. The one about the fridge seems to make that clear.
Chuck Lorre (the producer, is it?), puts vanity cards up at the end of episodes. Most of the time too quick to read those as well. But in this day and age, the pause button is well known to be effective.
It could be Charlie Sheen, buying some ad time to mess with his former employer. [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea3yeXCAydM"]
Who knows?

I do believe subliminals are effective. They bypass the consciouss mind and go straight to the subconscious, is the theory. The same principle is used throughout hypnosis and NLP, which could be argued to be a highly refined version of trauma based mind control. I wouldn't be surprised if Richard Bandler is connected here as well. Brought in perhaps to find more merciful ways of programming people. He's done great things, but he is kind of scary. This is highly speculative, of course.
If you haven't seen Derren Brown and are interested in this stuff, he's well worth checking out.

Subliminals are supposedly used a lot in advertisement as well. Well known (fictional?) example of having an icecube in a glass of whiskey in the shape of a skull, in order to attract the destructive drinkers. That sort of thing.
They have been discovered in many Disney films, even modern ones. The so-called 'sex-embeds' for instance. So it seems clear that subliminals are being used by big players which would suggest that they are effective.

But the main characteristic is that you are not consciously aware of them, which in this case is not the case. These were meant to be spotted.

Weird!

This ranks up there with other odd TV phenomenons.

The messages have a point though. They could have made it easier by just asking the viewer to turn the damn box off (or toss it!).

bizarre? Is this the work of anonymous?

Reminds me of the TV scene in the movie "THEY LIVE" - a must see btw.

I think they were meant to be noticed because of the length of the time the image was flashed. With the advent of DVR such momentary flashes are relatively easy to review which means it is meant to be seen by people who watch a lot of tv and HAVE DVR. Chuck Lorre plays to this with his vanity cards at the end of each of his shows. I can imagine he and Sheen having a good laugh about it. :)

Yes, were just about to say the same.

I wonder if it's possible to contact comedy central and ask

We have found numerous messages on the cover of the Harry Potter books. The word SEX is all over the place, hidden in the kid's hair and in the sky. Of course Disney movies are known for the use of sexual imagery and messages in movies. Subliminals are proven to be effective, yes.

Hey guys.. great thread, thanks whitehaze and others for commenting...
I wrote to Comedy Central UK about this and got .... no reply at all, not even an acknowledgement that they had got the email...
So... make of it what you will...
The good point about this is that I have been inundated with people who had seen them but had no idea what they were and were becoming annoyed by them...
Now, others have paused and taped the messages and their creepy content and are spreading the word :)
So, mission accomplished :)

Hi Conk

I hadn't heard about that in HP.. have you any link or photos to satisfy my curiosity?

The writers of the Big Bang Theory are Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. Chuck Lorre is also the Creator and one of the writers of Two and a Half Men. I think that he wrote these pieces and had them inserted in the add breaks. Why? Because at the end of every The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men episode he writes a page of assorted creative weirdness and flashes it up so that you have to freeze frame it to read it, examples:

The Big Bang Theory:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-nHLeFCMpw&feature=related

And Two and a Half Men:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-ug1ScwiuY&feature=related

I think that this particular set of pieces placed in adds during Two and a Half Men is his idea of a politically and socially themed art instillation.

Hi Conk

I hadn't heard about that in HP.. have you any link or photos to satisfy my curiosity? Simply search on 'subliminal messages in harry potter' and you'll get a page worth of links. It's not just Harry Potter. Most all advertising has it. Alcohol ads are notorious for putting porn images in the ice cubes or splashing water.
