On Tuesday, April 12, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-Oh) re-introduced her bill to re-instate the Glass Steagall law with two co-sponsors, Rep. James Moran (D-Va) and Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC). HR 1489, states in the summary "To Repeal certain provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and revive the separation between commercial banking and the securities business, in the manner provided in the Banking Act of 1933, the so-called Glass Steagall Act, and for other purposes."
The introduction of this bill happens at precisely the time when two equally fascist proposals to cut the budget are being debated, one by Republicans spearheaded by Congressman Paul Ryan, and the other by the increasingly insane President Barack Obama. These policies both call for draconian cuts in Medicare, Medicaid, the space program, high speed rail, and everything under the sun, all to bail out the totally bankrupt Wall Street banks and the Federal Reserve System.
The Kaptur bill is a declaration of war against the bailouts, the cutbacks, and the support of the "Bad Banks" which constitute the bulk of the US banking system. It is also a declaration of war against the British imperial system, which announced over a year ago that passage of Glass Steagall would constitute a "casus belli" against their decrepit system.
Lyndon LaRouche hailed the filing of the Glass Steagall bill saying, "The Glass Steagall Act is going to be a flanking procedure….what are we going to do? You say, 'I dunno if we can get it done'. What you're going to do, essentially, is say, 'If we do this, this will rout the enemy! Even threatening to do it, will put the enemy off-balance. If we don't do it, we're finished.' It is warfare."
"So, our object is, to ram this through. And don't tell me why it won't work. If you're gong to say , it won't work, that's because YOU don't work."

CALL YOUR CRITTERS AND DEMAND A PUBLIC POSITION STATEMENT ON THIS BILL. IF THEY WON'T CO-SPONSOR AND PUSH IT, USE THE WORDS: "YOU'RE FIRED!"

Who controls Congress? (Hint: It's not the People.)

Answer: The Money

I predict HR1489 will never become law no matter what the People do. It's like trying to pass legislation requiring an honest audit of the criminal Federal Reserve. That also failed, despite the bill being co-sponsored by over half of the entire House of Representatives!

It will never pass. Ron Paul has had many supporters to audit the Fed and that still hasn't happened. There isn't near the support for this as auditing the Fed.

the re-introduction HR1489 in my opinion, at least at this time, will probably not pass. the money monsters aren't finished with lunch yet. however, i do have hope for the future, after we rid our government of the obese greenback mongering fools. i do applaud her intentions though. perhaps with the next election, of say, some people with higher moral character, we could see it re-enacted. would be an absolute positive comeback for this country.

It certainly is. The Federal Reserve has been monetizing the debt, thereby decreasing the value of the American dollar. That's why commodities increased 30% in value after the Nov. 2010 election (and that's why food prices increased worldwide, causing North Africa to rise in rebellion).

1)International banks (World bank, IMF, BIS) are effectively under the control of the USA/UK. We are them.

2)Unlikely enough congreesscritters receive enough pressure and/or have enough guts to go against the interests of the banksters.

3)Budget cuts shmudget cuts, its a diversionary dog and pony show. They are "debating" the difference between 1.1% and 1.2% in cuts out of a 4trillion$ annual budget.

Sorry, you have it the wrong way around, the banks are supranational, they are outside nations and control them, not the other way around.

Concur with Lord Sidious. The banks are supranational and that's why Iceland's refusal to make good her debts is so important to all people worldwide who aspire for a better world.

Worse, the candle is burning in the middle also. Totally insurmountable debt. They have no intention of reducing it or reducing spending. Spending and debt are inherent functions of fiat/fractional banking. We...are...doomed.

well the cap is about to be reached...

it will be fun seeing the Tea Party who has been demanding dropping spending by government cave in moment over raising the cap, when their Masters tell them they are keeping the 1.2 trillion being held by the banks in reserve...

If they don't fight to take the money back from the banks, it will teach everyone what the grass roots movement is all about...

interest of the elite...

we are paying several Billion a year in interest for the banks to have reserves that they refuse to put into the economy putting people back to work...
