View Full Version : The first crop circle of the season appears in historic Wiltshire field

The unseasonably warm spring weather has not only brought forward many summer flowers - it has sparked the usual round of crop circles.

An elaborate 100ft circle which appeared overnight has caused a stir after it was found in a field of oil seed rape near Silbury Hill, Wiltshire.

The extraordinary floral creation is comprised of six interlocking 'petal' like crescents.

The ancient site, the tallest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe, is considered a hot spot for the bizarre phenomena and this new design proves the crop circle season is now under way.

Expert Lucy Pringle, widely known as an international authority on crop circles, believes this is the first 'proper' design of the year.

She added: 'The start of the season is always exciting, I never know what's going to happen for the rest of the year.

'The latest circle is a floral pattern, I've never seen this before. There's never been one identical to another

Miss Pringle, from Petersfield, Hants, is a founder member of the Centre for Crop Circle Studies.

She has conducted years of research in to the physiological and psychological effects reported by people after visiting the formations.

She says her findings suggest there are measured changes in human hormones and brain activity following contact with the circles.

The new 'floral' design is the latest in a long line of patterns to be spotted in the UK over the years.

Previous formations have included stars, triangles, birds, complicated three dimensional geometric shapes and even intricate patterns with hidden mathematical codes.

One, discovered in 2008 near Wroughton in Wiltshire, was thought to represent the first ten digits of pi, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter

Ahhh so glad the season's kicked off again. Makes me want to stick some clothes in a rucksack and get over to Wiltshire/Somerset. SW England has such a magical energy about it.

Beautiful! I love it. My avatar is my favorite crop circle. It appeared around the same time the idea my next website to launch was seeded to me back in 2004, omnisense.org(unknown ETA, I have like 70 articles to write x.x).

Thank you for this post. I just love crop circles. They have such great designs, regardless of their origin. Beautiful stuff. :)

Thanks again <3

Edit: After reviewing this one, I doubt it from ETs due to it not being flawless(some imperfections in the circle edges). But a great design nonethless.

Great, thanks. could the wind and weather have anything to do it's imperfection? Is it known how many people have been in it and roughened it already?

The easy access from the tram lines make it look manmade too. The ones where there are no tram lines are the best to look at as well as marvel over. I do agree with those that say the manmade ones are still good for other reasons, one of which is answering back if the maker gets a sudden urge to go and do one.

That is possible I suppose. But not probable. They are pretty uniformly imperfect around the whole thing.

Edit: The AI I speak to put the concept of infinity in my mind on this one. She changed my perception to see what she meant.

Basically you can take a step upward from one to the next on each circle continuously, or downward in the other direction. If you make it 3d going up and down and adding more to the top and bottom, it would go on forever. But my mind could be being played with. Feel free to debunk. It's just what I saw in it at the moment. I love this design.

The edges of the circle are too imperfect... I cannot say for sure it's a fake.... but it sure looks like a fake to me.

They can do better :) :

This looks like a prank by humans who even ran out of darkness and had to split before they got all the inner areas trampled down.

The second crop circle reminds me of an arcturian symbol.

Thats funny. This formation appeared in exactly the same place as the Mayan head-dress formation 3 years earlier!

Actually this is the SECOND major circle of the year, according to cropcircleconnector.com.

The first one can be seen at:

http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2011/innage/innage2011a.html

when I first see a new one I spend some time drawing it for myself, recreating it, learning how to create it. Its a really great exercise to understand the concepts within the image, for those truly interested in seeing/feeling their meaning.

I truly get the 'vesica piscis' feel from the first, the center of the circle sitting on the perimeter of the other, circles within circles, all aligned in a larger circle, contained within the whole. Very timely indeed. This next one, I'll have to draw still, but it feels like there is now motion within the first image. A new alignment, coming into a collective vortex.

for anyone who is keeping tabs on Lucia Rene's work since she 'appeared' here, there is an interesting synchronicity here. She has received some download templates during meditation at the Valle Caldera and is sharing these/transmitting these via meditation for free on her free monthly teleconferences, the first of which was April 30. This second image relates very closely to images she shared from her meditation/download.

Its all connected, all the time, already whole, in each and every instance. Nice to see the progression building........

Thanks for the sharing.

I can't remember who said this or the exact wording, but it goes something like this:

I don't know what's more astounding, the fact that crop circles are happening or the fact that few are paying attention to them.

I'm glad some of us are - and who knows - even the fakes could be being inspired by other world forces. The gods often use unlikely messangers to bring their messages forth!

The Meaning Behind Modern Crop Circles

The modern crop-circle phenomenon has been strongly ongoing now for about 18 years, from 1990 to 2008. Fifty or more complex and apparently authentic pictures appear every summer in southern England near Wiltshire, or sometimes in other places. Since 2002, there has been reasonable and undeniable evidence that most large or complex crop pictures might be non-human made, at least in the sense of local human fakers with rope and boards.
