This is my first thread so bare with me.

I remember reading this story years ago, before I started researching UFOs/Conspiracy and etc. It was linked to on this old Paranormal forum I used to visit and there was a gigantic thread about it. The general consensus was that it was a fake story due in large to the last chapter.

However I randomly remembered it today and figured Id re-read it. It was still a good read, not nearly as scary as I remember it being :p but the thing I found interesting is that alot of what the author describes sounds like an entrance to an underground base of some sort, and then goes on to describe things that sound ALOT like alien abduction experiences. This really shocked me as I could now see the story in a whole new light.

anyways heres the link. It'll take ya like 30 minutes to read give or take. Lemme know your thoughts :)

This was a hell of a spooky story. I loved the detail that went in to describing carving out the hole in the cave trying to make it big enough so that a man could just barelly squeeze through.
.
.
Oh yea,,,really spooky.
If you guys want to see a spooky cave story,,,that was documented in the Arizona republic 1909 try this out.

And an even spookier story was told in the Aug 1940 edition of National Geographic Magazine.

HP LOVECRAFT'S (http://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/fiction/mo.asp)THE MOUND (http://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/fiction/mo.asp)

The Mound, is about a secret entrance into a subturanean culture, guarded by two spectors that defy explanation by the townsfolk who witness this.

Is my favorite short story of all time. The story is spell binding, and is a precursor to the modern day works of George Knapp's "hunt for the skinwalker" and John Keel's "mothman".

The Mound is a work of fiction, that feels very much to have a relation to the high strangeness that so often frequents Coast to coast am radio.

It could have been a Richard Schaver story for it relates to subturanean races of highly technologically advanced people.

It reads like it was a modern tale influenced by Zacharia Sitchin and the Gods of old coming from space and starting all of mankind.

The story reads like Lovecraft was actually in a strange civilization and came back to tell us all about it.

Follow the link at the top, the story is free and on the net.

Happy Reading
