View Full Version : Mind Pollution

In my view, the single biggest factor for why things are the way they are is the current level of mind pollution that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. Television, movies, music (especially popular music), violent video games, and pornography.

Our cultures' obsession with pumping garbage into our heads is simply mind boggling. We feed on a steady diet of war, aggression, conflict, and perversion, all to a sound track of BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. What will it take for those who are not aware to realize this? How can we begin to impress upon our brothers and sisters that there is a higher spiritual order that is being denied them through their own choices?

The images of sex and violence play through our minds over and over again. They train us to accept war, killing, and the exploitation of others as a natural part of life. Aggression, conflict, and dominance are celebrated and rewarded. We are taught through these mediums that violence is how we are to solve conflict. And this way of thinking makes it much easier for our supposed leaders to sell wars of aggression to people who are fed a diet of such nonsense. Which creates more conflict, it is self perpetuating.

An advanced civilization would look upon us in horror, for surely an advanced race would have learned long ago that thoughts and weapons of war are a detriment to all beings, that all beings are not truly free until they live in peace and harmony with their surroundings.

I implore all who have not done so, please, turn off your T.V. Turn off your radio. Allow your mind to clear so that you may hear a message of utmost importance.

There is also the education factor.
From the beginning we are being trained to be competitive, to think of ourselves first.
If there are parents and teachers who pump that garbage in our children's heads, how can we live in harmony and brotherhood?

Of course there is the television and such things, but I see it as a symptom of our imbalance with life itself.
Very sad, actually.

I agree Charlie.
Not only are people destroying themselves, they are paying their assassins to do it.

Hey Charlie, I'm with you man. I'll tell you what though, you've got to hand it to them, it's been an incredibly ingenius control program for a VERY VERY long time. IMHO there's not a whole lot one can do for our fellow man concerning this besides following our individual callings of service. Those who have incarnated here in this time to move on will, those who want or need more of the same will get it.

I'm fairly confident that I've been messing around this silly sandbox for thousands of lifetimes, but before this one were no eyes to see, and no ears to hear. Hell, I've been so dense that if you liken this earth experience to a school progression, the class I came in with was graduating with honors, while I was flunked back to kindergarten.

I know I sound preachy here, but it's just really hitting home with me more and more to just let go and roll with it. Our highest service will occur naturally and with perfect timing, if that is our true intent. :)

You're a good man Charlie, I'm happy to know you through here...

Cheers,
Fred

Oh Yes Fred, we hold the keys to our own prison cell, and very rarely realize it. It takes a very long time for some of us to graduate to the next level. And Fred, likewise brother. I always enjoy your posts! :)

i'm not sure how many lifetimes i've been here, but i'm feeling pretty old now, so i'm guessing it's many. i concur with all of the above statements - i do not watch television anymore, but unfortunately, i am bombarded by the music that is played at my place of employment......i can tell you that i do not like it. i work in retail, so that tells you right there what i have to hear everyday. and i will say that the music maestros cater to every different person that walks through their doors... i must say though, i have developed a keen sense of blocking it out. or at least i'm getting better at it.

it has been said (somewhere down the line) that we are our own sodom and gomorrah.... the self perpetuating death of the consciousness of us all. but lately, i feel different. lighter on my feet, less concerned with the everyday tasks that will just wear you down. i'm beginning to think that our level of consciousness is smarter than they think! power to the mind. yes.
warmest regards, corson

Dear Charlie,
It is all about distraction.

In Huxely's 'Brave New World' the foetus is grown in a test tube, which travels along a conveyor belt, having certain DNA put into it at intervals to designate its position in life. At different stages of its development, words and phrases are suggested to it. This continues until the child grows up and is ready for work. It has learnt to love its servitude, through the constant propaganda it has heard all its life. This is the soft approach.

In Orwell's 1984 is also a view of the future, that focuses on deception with the use of 'newspeak' and violence.

The thinking behind these two authors is evident today.

Today we have the media at all levels, which spreads like a virus. So everyone around us is merely repeating it or their versions of it. It is all about being programmed. We in our turn in an effort to conform maintaining this programming by programming ourselves.

So a lot of effort is going into distracting ourselves. This distraction is keeping us in a dream-state.
In distracting ourselves we inadvertently distract others. And so the whole planet is kept busy, it this dream-state... asleep!
The primitive brain, is being kept active - attack, defend or be servile.

We have to look at the intention and motivation behind the information we receive.
