Hello everyone

I'd like to have your help in finding a place like "The Ranch", (run by James Gilliland) that I can visit next January. It was my first choice, but the good people there have wisely decided to close up shop for the winter.

I'll be in San Diego to start, but am willing to go just about anywhere in the western US (flying/car rental) for a week or two. I'm really interested in sacred sites, but I want to go not just as a "sightseer" but as a participant who can be involved in meditative experiences led by enlightened folk. Involvement with the trans-dimensional is what I seek - contact with extra terrestrial beings would be a bonus.

If you have any recommendations for places or people that you have personally been inspired by, I'd love to hear about them.

Namaste,

Brian

I haven't lived in the S.F. Bay Area in 20 years or so now, but when I lived in Marin County, I used to love going to Green Gulch Farm Zen Center.

I used to go for open meditation on Sundays and stay for the vegetarian lunch, which was fabulous.
Many of the residents at that time were former residents of Tassajara and had wonderful stories to tell, which they often included in the talks and Qs and As that followed meditation.
The location is pure magic, and the people, unless things have changed a great deal, were pretty magical too.

Hello Brian,
I don't know how much meditation you have done, but down in the basement of this forum, in groups, there is a meditation section. It may help.

Hello Brian

It may be too far away, but have you heard of a little place called Crestone in southern Colorado? It's in the SanLuis valley, about 4 hours drive south of Denver. Google it...quite a unique little town, with dozens of spiritual groups catering for every taste, an ancient history as a sacred ground for the Ute, and a UFO hot spot too! And all in one package!

The Self Realization Center in Encinitas is a stones throw from San Diego it's off of the I-5 Freeway, there is a beautiful garden there and the view from the cliffs of the ocean are spectacular. There is a Zen -Renzi monastery on Mt. Baldy in Los Angeles. Prescott Arizona there is a Tibetan monastery -Dri Kun Kagu lineage very remote place. You can find any of these places on the net.

The Pacific North West is one of best places to encounter UFO and ETs it is a very pure place. Riffe Lake at the base of Mt. Rainer much pure energy there. Colorado is definitely another.

If you are interested in Tibetan Buddhism, there is a retreat centre here, in the tradition I am studying with, but I have never been to this particular place.

I have been thinking about a trip here myself - the Shambhala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, home of the Great Stupa.
