Would UFO's have markings attached such as who made them, or adornments attached for visual appearance? Or would they be completely devoid of anything other than what is necessary to function. Just a thought I had reading this

As a child I remember watching a documentary on UFOs, the title of the documentary I have no idea as it was many years ago, but I do remember footage of one of these crafts having a letter/symbol/character of some kind on the underside. I remember it as I continued to draw it for a long time afterwards and would climb up tall trees and carve it into the trunk with a knife in hopes of these UFOs seeing it. In hindsight I may have been a weird kid ;).
