Mods, feel free to move this any cathegory you want. I didn't have a clue where to post
this one.
I have never really meditated so I have no clue what it's like. I'm a beginner and very curious.:) Anyway I was just wondering if it's possible to access situations or memories you've already lived? Are there false memories or false positives like one might say.. And let's be little more specific here.. I'm not talking about past lives, I'm talking about THIS life.;)

Greets Muxfolder!
This is exactly the place to access ALL aspects of you - no past/present/future exists from the all knowing perspective - it is possible to tap into the very same energy/aspect you feel is the "past" or even "future" - when really its all now.
There are so many ways to meditate I couldn't start to list, but the very ground rule is the obvious "quiet your mind." This can be hard for some, so you can utilize a few things to help you, ie: Guided meditations, music, or frequencies to put you in a more relaxed state. There is obviously hypnosis as well, but I'll stop here :)
You might want to start by sitting very quietly and concentrate on your breathing - long deep breaths. After my brain is "shut off" I find messages come to me without effort, an indication its not imagination as some would say. Once you enter this state of pure stillness, you can start working on intentions, throw your questions out into the universe and see what comes back. A good place to start is by asking your Higher Self, or Angels (if you feel you have guardians) and answers will come.
Be in full receivership and trust - once you get really good at this, you wont question anymore if its just "you" thinking this stuff, or if it truly is from the other realms that See all.
Feel free to PM me if you want some more technique advice!
HAVE FUN!

distraction sometimes works for the inner mind --which can be an overly verbal thingie....it can be a parrot of sorts. depends on one's disposition, or wiring..
so, think of the inner voice attached to a radio station, and then grab the dial..and turn it off station, so it goes quiet, into static hiss. this is just to try and get it to initially go quiet and then you can learn to lengthen that time period.
After a while you will begin to recognize the murmurings below that are trying to form themselves into words.

breathing and being of a single mind relaxed yet very focused and open , listen and you will hear the still small voice guiding you into what your looking for.. you will get to know yourself and realize you have the power, you've had it all along. the noise of the world muddies the waters. when confirmed by three people that have no clue what your up to, your heading in the right direction. you'll develop a disernment of real and the enemy messing with you.... there is a whole world waiting for you to explore the possibility of you being one with the universe. your hearing and sense of smell will be heightened... thats the way it works for me anyhoo. hope this helps.

These "murmurings" that you speak of, I believe are just rote thought. (The raw encoding of an idea or experience/relationship in it's full spectrum of informational fidelity, not constrained by linguistic manacles). If this is to be the case, then I can vouch that it is possible to attain this state of thought on a perpetual level, no dissociation or meditation required. I guess you could call it active meditation or perpetual meditation, but it obviously doesn't really matter what you call it... Many of the voices within (those that use spoken language) will often disguise themselves as the true inner "voice", and techniques such as meditation or shamanism can aid one in the acquiescence of discernment.
Sitting and clearing my mind never really worked for me. But everyone is completely unique, so it is up to you to find your way.

I say why not? Just thinking deeply is time out of mind that lets a part of you rest that otherwise wouldn't.

before it can erupt into conscious or 'formed words' spoken in the mind, you have to get to the murmuring point.
then you can still that (leftover push of murmuring) ... through soothing the egoic and emotional imperative.
Then you will be headed toward being quiet--- down to the brain stem.
That is when things start to get freaky and fun, IMO and IME.
Some people have a hard time getting to the point where the voice shuts off, at all.
I said to self... this is a radio station, and I imagined an analog dial tuner..and then simply turned it off dial, into static and then silence.

that will work for a few seconds or longer..and longer..and longer...then one can get to the point where one senses the murmurings, the rustlings ....trying to form into words, and this is the point where mediation becomes a constructive feedback system.
Alternatively, think of the voice being turned of like a switch. there is a million ways. find the one that works for the self. My point is that one cannot, generally, 'force' the inner voice to stop. Tricking it is as good a method as anything else. this tends to be effective as one can understand the dial turning effect...
Then simply imagine (or start there) the effects of a dial...in a dark room. ie, turning the dial without looking at it. then remove ay residual physical motion characteristic that one may include. Whatever order one wants to do it in.
then the visual centers will start to shut down as well.
once one catches the murmuring, and senses it's avenues and ways, then one can start to really 'dig in' to meditation, IMO and IME.
Silence brings some quite deep effects, different than visualization techniques. Being as an empty space in the center of nothing can bring..interesting results.
