I don't know about the rest of you but ever since I can remember I always thought to myself that upon death the journey does not end. Even as a child I thought like this and I never knew why until I read a book called Many Lives Many Masters by Brian Wiess (highly recommend).

I hope this interview sheds some light into the subject for those who have doubts. Enjoy :)

Hi NeoEmc2,
I highly recommend Michael's books - 'journey of souls' and 'destiny of souls'.

They are the best and most indepth books I have ever read on the subject on life after physical death.

I truly enjoyed watching this fascinating interview and I highly recommend it.
"When Dr. Michael Newton, a certified Master Hypnotherapist, began regressing his clients back in time to access their memories of former lives, he stumbled onto a discovery of enormous proportions: that it is possible to see into the spirit world through the mind's eye of subjects who are in a hypnotized or superconscious state; and that clients in this altered state were able to tell him what their soul was doing between lives on Earth. His book, Journey of Souls, presents ten years of his research and insights to help people understand the purpose behind their life choices, and how and why our soul - and the souls of those we love - lives eternally. His follow-up book, Destiny of Souls, is highly recommended as well. In May of 2004, Dr. Newton's new book entitled Life Between Lives: Hypnotherapy for Spiritual Regression was released. Dr. Newton is also the founder of The Society for Spiritual Regression."

If you read the (first two) books, you find out that he states the kind of things that serious researchers want to hear. An important one is that he states he made no leading questions or expressed thoughts of such a nature when attempting to get people to regurgitate their inner experiences. Have I read Dolores Cannon's 'convoluted universe' series? Yes, one of them is on the floor by my chair, right now. The two research works correlate fairly well. Read both (authors) and see what you come up with.

I guess I'm a bit surprised that this topic seems to have received so little attention. This (the reality of reincarnation, and the main reason we are all here) was an astounding revelation to me.

I studied various religions, and the concepts of Buddhism resounded the most with me. Reincarnation was the only thing about Buddhism, for me, that I didn't accept. This is one of those truths hidden in plain sight. Many mystics throughout the years (evidently) entered a state of heightened awareness where they came face-to-face with the reality of reincarnation, probably by remembering past lives. I have read that there were writings about reincarnation in the early biblical texts, but that they were purged by one of the early popes. I could not find historically verifiable data to back that up, but if true, would make the catholic church guilty of perpetrating one of the greatest conspiracies - purposely leaving out that information, presumably to better control their flock.

In Dr. Michael Newton's books, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls, we get information gleaned from over 7,000 cases of deeply hypnotized people remembering their past lives, and much more importantly, remembering their time between incarnations. Talk about esoteric knowledge! If anyone has not read those books, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I know that Bill Ryan speaks of us all actually being immortal spirits that temporarily inhabit human bodies. Hey Bill, may I ask where you got the information? And others that know that we are spirits and that we reincarnate, how did you find out? (I'm guessing that since this topic has received little attention, that Avalon Project members either found out another way, found out through Dr. Newton's books and simply haven't posted here, or have paid no attention to this subject.) Has anyone here gone through a Life Between Lives hypnotherapy session?

Many readers here are already familiar with the ground-breaking work of Michael Newton and his Institute. For those who are not, here is a synopsis of information gleaned from his clients (over nearly 3 decades) while under hypnotic regression, regarding Life After Life (link at bottom):

The Spirit World

Our physical universe appears to coexist with other physical and mental dimensions. These alternative dimensions of consciousness may be layered within our own physical space, parallel to our space, or linked by unknown designs around our dimensions.

Contained within our universe are energy waves that appear to be guided both by design and wisdom from a higher consciousness. Our dimension is inhabited by the vibrational energy of immortal beings we call Souls who evolve by gaining knowledge and acquiring wisdom.

Souls exist multi-dimensionally, both within and beyond linear time and space. The natural domain of Souls who come to earth is the non-physical dimension that we call the "spirit world" where Souls go between their incarnations. The spirit world is a place of love, kindness and compassion as well as one of order, planning and direction. It is possible that a higher space of perfection (beyond the spirit world) may exist which is not accessible to Souls still incarnating in the human body.

Our human reality is a three-dimensional material universe that includes movement and, therefore, a passage of time with the aging of all things physical. Time exists as an expression of change. However, in the spirit world Souls exist in a Now time, which is not on one timeline and is not absolute.

The spirit world is characterized by the forces of creative energy, universal thought, and support for spiritual enlightenment designed for the apparent purpose of training and growth in all Souls' evolution toward perfection. At the same time the spirit world offers a space of quiet contemplation and reflection between lives.

The human body and physical brain contain the spiritual mind of an immortal Soul. Conscious thought consists of ideas generated by the human and Soul mind in association with each other. Indications are that unconscious intuition, insight and conscience are influences of the Soul.

Each Soul is part of a decision-making process in choosing a body for the next life to experience certain karmic lessons as an outgrowth of former lives. All information and experiences accrued through human bodies is retained by the Soul. The reservoir of these Soul memories and accumulated wisdom derived from experience is referred to as the Superconscious mind.

The Soul's prior history is retained in higher consciousness, the Superconscious mind, and may be released into human consciousness through various means, one of which is hypnotic regression. However, pre-existing amnesia may be a partial or complete blocking agent for some which may limit recovery of past life and between life information.

While Soul memory may be hidden from the level of conscious awareness, thought patterns of the Soul influencing the human brain may induce motivations for certain actions. We do not know the degree to which human choices or actions are influenced by the Soul since this variable is different with each person.

Reincarnation, or the transmigration of the Soul, is designed to advance Soul development through the choice of a specific body that will be involved in certain timeline events. This choice is governed by the special needs of the Soul to advance from lower to higher levels of learning based upon performance and desire, as well as karmic issues from former lives.

During physical incarnations on earth various possibilities and probabilities arising from karmic influences and Soul contracts are subject to the free will of the Soul. Thus, humans are not bound to a predetermined existence.

The meaning behind the existence of each individual has been planned in advance to allow all Souls to come into their physical incarnations with a purpose. Goals are originated, in part, by karmic patterns from former lives and, in part, by specific lessons relating to the ambitions of that Soul. These objectives are established in concert with a Soul's spiritual peers, personal guide(s) and a Council of enlightened spiritual Elders.

The Soul:

(based on the descriptions of Life Between Lives clients)

The soul can not be defined because it has no limits that are perceived about its creation. The most consistent reports of its demonstrated essence is that the soul represents intelligent energy which is immortal and manifested by vibrational waves of light and color.

All human beings have one soul that remains attached to its chosen physical body until death. Souls play a part in the selection of their next physical body during their reincarnation cycles. The soul typically joins its physical body after conception between the fourth month and birth.

Each soul has a unique immortal character. When joined with the human brain this character is melded with the emotional temperament, or human ego, of that brain to produce one personality for one lifetime.

Souls reincarnate with human beings for countless lifetimes to advance through levels of development by addressing karmic tasks from former lifetimes. Souls grow in knowledge and wisdom through this learning process while pondering their thoughts and deeds in past lives with peers under the direction of teachers.

At the moment of physical death the soul returns to the spirit world, the source of its creation. Since part of a soul's energy essence has never left the spirit world during incarnation, the returning soul rejoins with that essence of itself. This, spiritual learning never ceases for the soul. The spirit world also offers souls the opportunity for rest and reflection between lives.

Souls appear to be members of specific spirit cluster groups to whom they have been assigned since their creation. The teachers of each group are the personal spirit guides of members of that group. Members of these groups reincarnate with the soul and assume meaningful roles during a soul's life on earth.

Rather than being defined as a place of ultimate non-action, or Nirvana, the spirit world appears to be a space of soul transition into higher forms of energy with capabilities for creation with advancement. The spirit world has an area of influence which is undefined except that it includes our universe and nearby dimensions.

No earthly religious deities are seen in the spirit world by returning souls. A soul's closest connection with the divine is with their personal spirit guide and members of a council of benevolent counselors who monitor the affairs of each soul. Souls from earth feel and sense the presence of a God-like Oversoul or Source emanating from above their counselors. The spirit world is composed of highly advanced non-reincarnating soul specialists who regulate the work of advancement for the souls in their care.

When incarnating souls develop to a high level of experience, performance and wisdom they will cease to incarnate and become advanced beings themselves who assist the still-incarnating souls.

The ultimate goal of all souls appears to be the desire to seek perfection and conjoin with the Source that created them.

Adding different soul groups: geographic areas, races, planet, star system, galaxy, You have the soul map with many collective bubbles. Most Earthlings are bound to stay in Earth's collective bubble. ET souls who come from other star systems or planets probably will return or be helped by their people.

That's really interesting, and feels pretty accurate. So it was anecdotal and generalized to some degree I'm guessing? I didn't check out the institute.

All of the individuals that I've worked with in Spirit seemed to have retained at least aspects of a former human identity. Whether that was a convenience for them, or for my sake.
Most of the work was with people who hadn't yet recognized that they were deceased, and had to be helped to accept it so that they could see whoever was there to meet them.

It's really as simple as that you can't see what's above you, if you're looking down. There were some confronting and sometimes really hilarious conversations.

On a few occasions individuals returned to update us on how they were doing, or just to say hello.
One young girl came back to report to me on a suggestion I'd made to her. That she come back and spend time with her father, who was in prison for murdering her and her mother. She was lost in grief and incomprehension.
She'd been trying to wake up her dead mother for God knows how long, not realizing they'd both been killed. Yet her mother was there present to take the girl with her. The visual was of her mother standing at the top of a dark staircase waiting, silhouetted in a bright doorway. That's not a fact, it's only the image that I saw.

I explained to her that her father was sick and that she could help heal him if she'd go to him sometimes and spent time with him 'in the hospital'. And so she did, and had a very articulate story to tell. The lovely way a child would tell it..
Confirmation like that was really helpful in that work.
And because I hate the thought that I might be giving bad advise.

What was significant to me was that she was so naturally still just a little girl and associating however she could with everyone she loved still in form.

I really always had the sense that transition was such a natural and normal process, that what would appear to us as phenomenal is no more difficult or even different than arriving in a new city and learning to get around in it.
At least we'd speak the language.

Thanks Another Bob, great Tread, very interesting!

I had many years ago, the opportunity to be guided in a past life regression, Oh!, what an experience!, that I still, today, think that my imagination had run a trick on me. But now, I start to doubt my rationale on this!

I will have to buy Michael books to be enlightened on this subject.

All the best to you.

Michael Newton is now a retired Hypnotherapist with over 40 years of experience with inducing hypnosis within clients for behavioral adjustments to regressions in age. The last 20 or more years were spent taking people's minds through past life regression and then to the spiritual place of healing, contracting for new incarnations and meeting with spiritual team members (family or work groups) and thus the souls of those venturing forth as reported by Newton get to review their purpose for incarnating on earth this time. Books Newton has written are available on most ebook providers on the internet, and one is for the already certified hypnotherapist to learn of Newton;s techniques, which can be supplemented by their own experiences already used in their practices.

This seems to be a beneficial experience as many are starting to realize an uneasiness about their demeanors since the mid 2000-2010 time frame.

These books are also translated into many foreign languages. The initials (LBL)designate his Life Between Lives dialogues with people.

Michael's books make a great addition to the tapestry. A piece here, a piece there. Pretty soon you start to see more of the picture.

Taken by themselves, they are definitely fascinating, but there are a few places in his books where I'll be saying to myself, "Well, that other chapter I buy, but I call B.S. on this stuff here..."

It's not until you go and find other puzzle pieces and chew 'em up that you find yourself thinking back on the stuff you thought was B.S. and saying, "Hmm. Okay, I think I see how or why this person had this to say while they were under hypnosis, and what might be going on there..." But make sure you add texture to Newton's info by soaking up lots of other subjects too. Like some Edgar Cayce, some near-death experience researchers, some Robert Monroe, some good E.T. books, flip through different religious texts from across the board, maybe sprinkle in some writings from some great Shamans, some research into reincarnation and karmic justice, and of course, keep an eye on Project Avalon. :-)

There is truth all over. Be hungry for it, always question, always wonder. Who are we? What are we? What is it about the human experience on Earth that other races revere?

My main problem these days is the internet. At first, it was the greatest thing to happen to a seeker, because we just follow our mice and find out all kinds of great things. But lately it's getting harder and harder to avoid deception. That can be disheartening.

Incidentally, did you see the part in one of Newton's sessions where the person under hypnosis stated that there will be a lot fewer people on the planet in the near future? That's one of the things I've read that jives with Bill Ryan's Ultimate Hypothesis thread about the possibility of some large scale disaster that could hit us. Like that Knowing movie that Nicolas Cage did.

It's worrisome, but the knowledge you gain from books just like Newton's make it not so intimidating of an event. Everone leaves their body sooner or later. It just means it's time to find out/figure out where the adventure will take you next.

For those who are just beginning to familiarize themselves with this topic, here's a brief summary:

The Spirit World

Our physical universe appears to coexist with other physical and mental dimensions. These alternative dimensions of consciousness may be layered within our own physical space, parallel to our space, or linked by unknown designs around our dimensions.

A new age of spiritual enlightenment has ushered in a period of human history where, with increasing frequency, people are seeking different approaches to exposing their immortal minds. A significant catalyst in this process is Life Between Lives Spiritual Regression utilizing hypnosis.

fascinating books but limited in scope due to the focus on souls inbetween human lives on earth only. dolores cannon's convoluted universe books go one step further and imo should be read after michael newton's books. also recommended are the books by robert monroe to get an idea of how souls come to earth and get entangled here in the first place.

Along with Michaels Newton's Journey of Souls, I read Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss . Enjoyed both.
The first pebbles tossed at my perceived quiet pond of equilibrium.
Whether one sees the information as limited in scope or takes it all on board is the personal journey. They did rattle my cage and therefor am grateful.

When I began to wake up three years ago, the first thing I did was I bought Michael Newton's "Journey of Souls". I certainly didn't believe in reincarnation back then, but that book changed my whole life. I don't know why even bought that book? Maybe someone recommended it and I was curious. After that my spiritual awakening started to take big leaps, because I started to remember that what all of this was about. I'm not sure if Michael ever heard about Dolores Cannon, I started to listen her stuff last year. She and Michael are pioneers on this kind of healing.

I was so moved, so drawn-in by the material that I arranged for one of the Life Between Lives hypnotherapists (who happened to be a chapter author in the 3rd Newton book) to facilitate the experience for me.

Unfortunately, I was not able to be hypnotized.

Very important information in those books - it all resounded as true to me. I'd also say that the other books and teachers/practitioners mentioned in this thread are excellent resources to expand on the material in the Newton books.

Hi all,

Just stumbled across this interview with Michael Newton. Found it very interesting as i am currently reading his book "journey of souls".

Michael Newton is a hypnotherapist who discovered that people under hypnosis can describe not only their past lives, but their life BETWEEN lives, in the spirit world, in incredible detail.
I highly recommend Journey of Souls and the sequel Destiny of Souls for a deeper understanding of the concepts presented in this interview.

Hope you all enjoy - have a good day - :)

I found this "Journey of Souls" book at just the right time for me to actually appreciate it. If I would have read it years earlier than I did, I would have thought it was fodder for the gullible make-believers.

Even so, I was skeptical going into it, even though I already believed in reincarnation....or what the Buddhists would call rebirth. When I read it, my step-dad was dying of esophageal cancer in 2010. I had just read a book by Craig Hamilton Parker (a psychic) that was called "What To Do When You Are Dead: Better Living In The Afterlife", which I actually still like quite a lot.

Then I read a bunch of classic Spiritualist e-books, none of which really supported reincarnation, but I found a few real gems. Then I read a book by Victor Zammit (which you can find on his website for free: http://www.victorzammit.com/book.pdf ) Then I read "The Law of One" books, discovered Alex Collier's 1994 interview and his book "Defending Sacred Ground", read Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls and then a book called "I Am The Word" by Paul Selig (which I still am not sure if that one is kosher, but I had some amazing experiences reading it.)

Oh yeah, and the whole time I was studying all this stuff, I was watching episodes of "Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal" on youtube whenever I wasn't reading, which is a fascination and an indulgence of mine. All of this over the course of a few months. Then my step-dad was nearing death, and I had the opportunity to share a lot of what I was learning with him before he did, which brought him great comfort and thankfully he went relatively peacefully in a way that was quite beautiful and inspiring. It was a strange period of my life. It changed completely how I look at "death". I feel like maybe I should have a bachelor's degreee in parapsychology just for those few months of reading I did. ;)

I would love to hear some testimony from folks who have undergone the hypnosis technique he talks about.
It would help to seal the deal on my appreciation of his work.
I hate to say it but as good as the material is, I always have my suspicions in so far as what people will do for fame and money.

I have participated in two weekend workshops to explore past lives through hypnosis. We did not look at time in the spirit world between lives. However, we did remember the death in that life. What I remember was that, for me, if the death was very traumatic, these beings of light came to fetch me and embraced me with unconditional love and caring. There were about four or five of them, and they were always the same beings. I couldn't really make out features as they radiated a lot of light. I think these beings are my soul group.

In one lifetime I had a very happy death. I lingered to comfort my daughter, who was with me when I died, and then reunited with my husband, which was very joyous.

I never recalled an experience of a tunnel.

Recalling past lives was very interesting in what I discovered about my soul journey through lifetimes. It was also interesting doing this in a small group (although I have done hypnosis as a single person). I remember that after one session the energy in the room was a bit disturbed, jarring. As we went round the room and shared, we realised that we had all recalled a past lifetime with our mothers in this lifetime, even though we had not been instructed to do so!

I would recommend that you prepare yourself for hypnosis by doing guided visualisations. You remain consciously aware during hypnosis but you need to let that conscious awareness become an observer. Meditation and guided visualisations are good practice for this.

In my individual hypnosis sessions I learnt that no one can make you do or remember what you do not want to (in fact, the therapist told me that strong-willed people with some skepticism are the best subjects as they are unlikely to make stuff up - the more suggestible you are, the more you are prone to hold blind beliefs fanatically and without questioning, the more likely you are to make stuff up when hypnotised, so you sound like a good subject for hypnosis and I suggest that you trust that and surrender to the experience). In the sessions I had, I always found myself in a place with water (a lake or a stream) and in every session, at some point, I would 'rebel' and go swimming, and the therapist could no longer work with me as I would not want to answer questions or explore further!

I hope you do the sessions and share them with us.

Other than satisfying natural curiosity, for me a benefit of recalling past lifetimes was being able to understand bad choices I had made in my life and being able to forgive myself for them.

I did a life between lives regression based on Newton's technique. The therapist was very good and trustworthy. I can honestly say that the experience was more of a meditative one than hypnotic. I was fully aware and in control of things in and out of my body.

This method will certainly offer guidance and insight. You will only get information that you need and can digest. My sister who is part of my soul group was denied entrance (or a glimpse) by her soul self....she was told it would be too easy and that she needs to discover this another way. So be prepared for anything and everything. It takes courage ... you never know what awaits.

I read somewhere (I don't remember where now) that because Gaia is about to take a big step in evolution into another kind of paradigm, a lot of souls from elsewhere have incarnated here recently just in order to experience that, and they will return to the worlds from which they came rather than remain here.

This is generally the premise in the Law of One teachings too, that Earth's energies are slowly, but surely changing into a higher density energies over the next decades and centuries. We are currently in the 3rd density Earth. This density is where the most important choices are made, but it's not the density of love, wisdom nor understanding. This is only where we may start to comprehend the true meaning of love. The basic truth is indeed that there is only oneness. Whatever you wish to call that divine energy, it is Love which has seemingly separated itself into many things and objects, yet the basic essence of everything is always the same.

The law of One talks about wanderers coming to Earth to assist during intense times of shift, just as we are experincing now. Many wanderers have however been very much part of the history of Earth and have also been swept away by the wheel of karma due to past actions. Perhaps there might be even more fresh or innocent souls coming here with only pure innocent essence and no karma to deal with.

That kind of tied into some information from The Michael Teachings which made sense to me, ie that planets also go through cycles of evolution just as individual souls do.
Those levels being (according to Michael) Infant, Baby, Young, Mature, Old and Cosmic.
The theory also being that a planet like Earth which is hosting many life forms will, as it progresses, become host to souls that are best suited to its own stage of development.
Earth is presently host to all levels of development in individual souls, but when it takes its next leap, theoretically, there will be fewer of the less evolved souls.

This is also fairly familiar to what Dr. Michael Newton discovered when he was mapping out the afterlife and the development of souls in his regression work. To the best of his ability, he mapped out the afterlife (https://www.to-en.gr/Newton/p12_t_en.htm) and the evolutionary scale of souls. What makes a difference is the spiritual and emotional maturity of the soul, time spent as a human being doesn't have much to do with it. That maturity and developed empathy and wisdom can only come through experience. The soul has it's main colors according to that development too and the highest color (https://www.llewellyn.com/journal/article/1855) in the spectrum of light is purple.

In his second book, Destiny of Souls, a table of color correspondences for the soul is shown in chapter five. On page 171 Dr. Newton has given us a table to show the various gradations of color marking the soul's evolution. "Figure 6: Color Spectrum of Spiritual Auras" gives the following general ranking of the soul via color. Dr. Newton has premised six grades of spiritual evolution for the soul based on the "soul's primary core colors." The lowest grade (Level 1) is that of a beginning soul, while the highest grade in his system (Level 6) is that of an "ascended master."

Here is the basic color symbolism of this soul classification system. There is an overlapping of colors between grades, but the table below shows the primary colors associated to each of these six levels of soul evolution:

Basic Color Symbolism of the Soul Color

Color Level Grade
White 1 Beginning Soul
Red 2 Advancing Soul
Yellow 3 Teacher
Green 4 Healer
Blue 5 Master
Blue Violet 6 Ascended Master
Purple The Higher Levels Leading to the Godhead

If we look at the spiritual traditions of the world, color symbolism plays an important role. White in many cultures is associated with purity and light (such as is the case with Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Hinduism). However, in China and Japan, white is associated with death. But in the scale of the soul's evolution white is not the ultimate color of perfection, but rather the color of innocent beginnings of the soul. It is the soul's color in it its pristine state of inception, but not its final evolutionary hue.

The rainbow is stretched from the lowest vibratory rate of red to its highest vibratory rate of ultraviolet. Here red symbolizes the first hue of the rainbow that the soul radiates as a beginner on the spiritual path.

Violet represents the highest vibratory level of the soul that Newton was able to chart. Level 1 through Level 5 are progressive points of the soul's evolution while still acquiring a physical body through the process of reincarnation. Level 6 and beyond represents the soul no longer requiring a physical incarnation to further develop the soul. So Level 5, which is associated to deep blue, is the last aura change that the soul acquires while still using a physical body to further evolve along spiritual lines.

According to Michael Newton most of Earth's population consists of young souls. That would explain quite a lot. Younger souls have often the tendency to force things to work their way, instead of letting things naturally play out. As Bhagavad Gita says; Our greatest power is not the power we have over others, but the power we have over ourselves. You can try to control and dominate others, but it will never work for long. It goes against everything that is right. How many people truly can control themselves and realize the power within?

There are pockets of areas in countries with more advanced and old souls too.
All in all, there are indeed souls from all kinds of stages and places here on Earth.

"Coming to Earth is about traveling away from our home to a foreign land. Some things seem familiar but most are strange until we get used to them, especially conditions which are unforgiving. Our real home is a place of absolute peace, total acceptance and complete love. As souls separated from our home we can no longer assume these beautiful features will be present around us. On Earth we must learn to cope with intolerance, anger and sadness while searching for joy and love. We must not lose our integrity along the way, sacrificing goodness for survival and acquiring attitudes either superior or inferior to those around us. We know that living in an imperfect world will help us to appreciate the true meaning of perfection. We ask for courage and humility before our journey into another life. As we grow in awareness so will the quality of our existence. This is how we are tested. Passing this test is our destiny.

I haven't read Newton's work, but I can say that I don't think purple is the color signifying the soul's highest level of development at all. Purple is not a primary color, rather it is a mix of red and blue.
From red, orange, yellow, green, blue the colors of the rainbow go in order to indigo and then violet.
So purple logically rates only somewhere between red and blue.

...is all about how colors correspond to the souls' development according to Dr. Christopher Hills. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Hills

I do recommend reading it and I suppose I stand corrected.

Perhaps the mixing purple with violet is an error with language.

As often the sixth chakra, the third eye's color is said to be indigo and then comes violet.

It's pretty much standard in the classical teachings and more modern ones that indigo is the color of the third eye and of Intuition, and Violet is the color of Imagination and the crown chakra.
Purple is traditionally the color of royalty.
Dr. Hills' book Nuclear Evolution also lists black, the absence of color, as potentially being a kind of Dark Night of the Soul or self-annihilation stage (the individual Self as opposed to "Atman", the Universal Self) and finally, White as the level above the crown chakra, a stage of enlightenment.
He goes into much further detail about his exhaustive work with color and its' manifestations and functions in human evolution in his book "Rise of the Phoenix".

Perhaps that might explain why black has always been my favorite "color". Well, besides brown, blue and purple.

Apologies----the corresponding drive to the crown chakra is Imagination, though creativity certainly goes hand in hand with that.
(I corrected that in my post above.)
I first read "Nuclear Evolution" when I was in my early 30s and it was life-changing, and I think I need to go back and read it again now.
So much information and wisdom on so many levels!
It's out of print now, but may be accessible in digital form at some point.

Yes, I actually became a friend of the Hills family, and spent time at the intentional community in Boulder Creek, CA. that Dr. Hills created, The University of the Trees.
I first met Dr. Hills who was giving a cross-country lecture tour when I was living in Philadelphia in the late 60s at the local Quaker meeting house.
I nearly fell off my chair while he was lecturing because I not only recognized him as a Soul Group member, but saw his aura, which was incredible.
My partner at the time, Bob Rosenberg, was mightily impressed as well, and he later went to India to join Dr. Hills' group pilgrimage there.
When Dr. Hills moved to California, Bob decided to move there too.
Dr. Hills' son John came from London to Philadelphia and stayed with us briefly, then they both drove across the country to join Dr. Hills in the Bay Area.
I was to join them later, but shortly after I arrived in San Francisco, I was hit by a hit-and-run-drunk driver and nearly killed.
I was hospitalized for a very miserable 3&1/2 months at San Francisco General Hospital, and just when I hit my lowest emotional point, Dr. Hills, his wife Norah, Bob and two other women who had also been on the pilgrimage in India, came to my bedside and gave me an incredible healing.
(One of those women, Barbara Pettee, became a good friend. She was an heiress to the Bekin family fortune, and was very instrumental in helping Tibetan lamas after the Chinese invasion. She sponsored the Karmapa's visit and the Red Hat Ceremony he held in San Francisco, which was a huge event, and I was one of the volunteers helping with that.)
So visits to the UofTrees followed after I was well enough, and eventually I moved near to the community in the Santa Cruz mountains and attended classes there.
I was in a relationship with John Hills for a couple of years as well, so I met with his parents and brother Tony on a more personal basis.
I had been meeting various members of my Soul Group (the Michael Teachings give a good description of Soul Groups), on and off all during my life, starting in first grade when I recognized one of my classmates, who was named Frankie Gold.
(Years later, I recognized him in a photo taken of him in his former life, when he was the younger brother of T.E. Lawrence--Lawrence of Arabia.)
By "recognize" I mean not only by physical appearance, but by an indescribable energetic essence that I have learned to detect in Soul Group members.
It's similar to the feeling you get when you meet someone you know you've know before in a past life, but much stronger.
The best way I can describe it is like "coming Home".
I became able to recognize them even from photographs, and in that way, to trace some of their past lives.
It seems to have been one of my missions in life to meet with as many of them as possible, and each time feels like a blessing.
Oddly, none of the community members at the Uof Trees were recognizable to me as soul group members, but it was enough just to be able to connect with the Hills and the other Soul Group members who I met through them, and to have such direct access to Dr. Hills' work.

(This work seems to correlate with The Michael Teachings and the theory about soul groups, and the theory that our spirit guides are often discarnate members of our soul group who are monitoring our progress when we are incarnate. )

"I introduce the work of Michael Newton: 'We are all members of soul cluster study groups' At any given time some of us are physically embodied and some of us are disembodied. When disembodied we seem to be in a classroom environment to help ourselves and each other to actualize our next step on our awakening journey."oeHFjj_51aI

I have a interesting coincidence with a certain section of the book Journey of Souls....at least to me anyway 😄. So a couple of years ago I decided to get an akashic record reading. I had no idea what to expect and it was certainly interesting. Anyway during the reading, she told me that I had been on the council of elders and incarnated on earth this lifetime to take on a particular mission (apparently she was not allowed to tell me what this was).

At the time I thought how fascinating and it's been driving me crazy about what this mission could be lol. Anyway, some time had passed and I came across the audio book of Journey of Souls and started listening to it when I went to bed. Whilst listening to a chapter about the council of elders, a woman's account of her experience with the council and one particular member, had me intrigued but I couldn't figure out why. Then it hit me. The member she was excited to see name was RENDAR....which is an anagram of DARREN....which happens to be my name. What are the chances eh? 😆
