If you haven't any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble. ~Bob Hope

Never look down on anybody unless you're helping him up. ~Jesse Jackson

What this world needs is a new kind of army - the army of the kind. ~Cleveland Amory

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~Dalai Lama

i felt inspired by some recent issues to post this thread, for me, being there for others is a big part of my world, i really believe that listening and supporting those around us is crutial to a harmonious and fullfilling life. so every day i try to practice at least 3 random act of kindness, little things like helping someone pack their shopping, letting somone pull out in front of me when i am driving or ever just a smile directed at a stranger (who knows maybe its the first smile they have recieved that day) and am always there for friends/family should they need to talk or my help in any way. after all We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak. ~Epictetus

so fellow avalonians what do you do to make the world a better place? do you practice random acts of kindness and being there for folk when they need some support? how does it feel when you have felt listened to? acknowledged? (much better than if one is not given a voice or is ignored :( ) lets pay love and compassion forward after all what goes around comes around.

Thank you Morguana for this thread, kindness is addictive and helps to make your world of family, friends, neighbors, a happy and better place. I usually get my kids involved in helping out in the community like you said in small ways . If each and everyone of us did a little something for others every day I truly believe our world would change overnight. It starts with you, we, I, us making that small contribution of random acts of kindness. Thanks Morguana once again.

Many many blessings to all.

This is the ONLY doctrine/dogma/religion/principle I am a slave to, everything else is an un-needed complication.

Many blessings for the reminder M, it's easy to get lost in the business of the day and forget, we are after all only human. But in that humanity is beauty and an undeniable compassion, love and empathy for fellow beings. Let's show it huh?!?

Thanks for getting me back on track today.

chris you bring so much to the forum, its your turn to recieve some love back for you and roz.

acts of kindness come in all shapes and sizes i see them as a direct reflection of the heart and therefore no matter how small an act is it still makes a persons day shine,
brings a smile to someones lips and helps to show them that the world can be a positive place to be in.
so today on the way to taking my children to school i dropped a pound on the pavement.......hope someone will enjoy finding it
later will ask a neighbour if she needs anything from the village
and the next one......well the universe will guide :)

love and blessings avalonians

Yes my friend that is the only song I ever wrote and its me singing. the rest of the songs are are also me singing on the link below.
I decided to learn to sing about four years back and still much room for improvement but there have been random acts of encouragement along the way yours included here and now.
My ego needs stroked from time to time lol. I let it out to play-- smiling.
Thanks again to all who encourage me here I truly appreciate the friendship affection and love freely given, my life is much brighter for knowing all of you.

Morguana, you are truly the kindest soul. That video is incredible. It was interesting to see and hear the
different reactions of the people having unexpected acts of kindness showered on them. Thank you for
this.
Peace and Love,

one of the bigest acts of kindness imho is forgiveness

It’s so important to train ourselves to look in a non-dualistic way. We know from our
own experience that if the other person is not happy, it’s very difficult for us to be happy.
The other person may be our daughter, our partner, our friend, our mother, our son, our
father, or our neighbor. The other person may be the Christian community, the Jewish
community, the Buddhist community, or the Islamic community. Because we know that
safety and peace aren’t individual matters, we will naturally act for the collective good.
The practice of forgiveness is the practice of understanding and compassion.
Understanding is the substance of true love and true compassion. If love is in our heart,
every thought, word, and action can bring about a miracle
