Has anyone else seen the information re: The Republic of the United States?
http://www.republicfortheunitedstates.org/

It seems that most of the states have formed republics ... here's a link to the states that have joined:
http://ohiorepublic.wordpress.com/republic-websites/

It is currently my understanding that this is the Republic that Ron Paul is (essentially) representing in order to dissolve the U.S. Corporation. Also, that there's an effort to get the Sheriff's offices (elected law enforcement) in alignment as well, which seems to be happening.

Amongst other things I've found, this is probably one of the most informative video series right now. Again, makes a lot of sense.

Here's part 1 of a 5 part series (about 15 mins. each)

The only "glaring" thing I can see is that they support the country being founded as Christians, which could be perceived as "religious militants."

I'd be a little more impressed if more of the links on the Ohio page weren't just registered domain names with no concrete information on them. Also, the http://www.republicfortheunitedstates.org/ link just isn't loading up.

That said, I know that there is a movement among local sheriffs to decide which laws will be enforced in their jurisdictions if the Feds start passing laws meant to detain or oppress average citizens.

I really wouldn't worry about the "Christian" nation rhetoric. Most of our founders were "Christians", but they had their doubts like everyone else. However, I'm sure that the fact that the Salem witch trials and Puritan culture had thrived only a century before played a part in their decision(s) to (at least) nominally say they were Christian.

And, even if they were believers, so what? Does that somehow invalidate everything that they did to secure American freedom? No. Does it mean that Christians can't explore the ideas of UFO's and ET's? No. It's really an odd argument to make because a lot of the settlers in the Colonies were searching for religious freedom and saw an opportunity to leave Europe and took it.

We are talking about people who were the "grands" or the "great-grands" of some of the founders, so the stories and memories would have been told in their families and villages. It's like how my dad talked about Vietnam or his parents talked about WW2. I didn't experience it, but people close to me did and told their stories. My grandpa would talk about how his (great?) uncle was a prisoner in Andersonville and how nobody could cook onions around him because it reminded him too much of the War and he'd get furious because of the smell. History doesn't just happen and disappear. It lives on through stories and experiences.

Thanks for the response. http://www.republicfortheunitedstates.org/ does load, it just takes a minute.

What I'm concerned about re: "Christian founders" is the organization being retaliated against as some sort of "Christian militant group" - I'm sure one can see how easily religious affiliations can make it go south. US Corporation tends to attack such groups as being terrorists.

The California website is up and running very well...

Here's another good video explaining the republic (45 minutes) please read the description below the video for details.
