There has been a bit of speculation about the every 188/189 days we have been having a "big earth event". I was wondering if there could be a connection between this 188/189 day event where we have had a big earthquake or tsunami. before these sounds are heard. We are coming upon the 189 day mark on March 22. I believe that these noises occurred before the big Japan quake. What do you guys think, I believe there may be a correlation.

okay, Terral has been off before, but his video either adds credibility to my post of the 189/189 day thing or simply makes me as nutty as he could possibly be. Neutron flashes may forecast earthquakes

Hopefully this gets sorted out, I spoke to a friend of mine that communicates with two of the ET/ED groups that are science based/oriented and both said it wasn't anything they're doing. So hopefully that helps at least eliminate any ET/ED interference with this. It could have been military, or something to think about. Is this area where the booms came from, in any direct line to where the earthquakes in mexico hit?

CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (AP) - Officials in Clintonville are trying to record a series of mysterious booming sounds that have roused residents from bed in the past few days, but their attempts have so far come up empty.

The city set up audio and video recorders overnight Wednesday but didn't capture anything. There was at least one loud boom at 5 a.m.

City administrator Lisa Kuss says most theories involving manmade causes have been ruled out.

The strange disturbance sounds like distant thunder, fireworks or someone slamming a heavy door. At first, many people were amused or merely curious. But after three restless nights, aggravation is mounting. And some folks are considering leaving town until investigators determine the source of the racket.

"My husband thought it was cool, but I don't think so. This is not a joke," said Jolene Van Beek, who awoke early Sunday to a loud boom that shook her house. "I don't know what it is, but I just want it to stop."

The booming in Clintonville continued Monday and Tuesday nights and into Wednesday morning, eventually prompting Van Beek to take her three sons to her father's home, 10 minutes away, so they could get some uninterrupted sleep.

There have been no reports of injury or damage, despite some residents saying they could feel the ground roll beneath their feet.

City officials say they have investigated every possible human cause. They checked water, sewer and gas lines, contacted the military about any exercises in the area, reviewed permits for mining explosives and inspected a dam next to city hall. They even tested methane levels at the landfill in case the gas was spontaneously exploding.

"People in the area are certainly frustrated," City Administrator Lisa Kuss said.

The city is also investigating geological causes. Officials plan to bring in vibration-detection devices to try to determine the epicenter of any underground activity.

Authorities set up audio and video equipment overnight but didn't capture any evidence of shaking or booming despite at least one loud noise about 5 a.m. Wednesday, Kuss said.

A public meeting was scheduled later in the day to update residents on the situation.

Debby Ernst, a gas station cashier, has not heard the sound or felt the tremors but said she is still considering going elsewhere until the mystery is solved.

"It worries me. I'm scared," she said in a phone interview. "Who's to say it ain't going to get worse?"

However, a local scientist said nothing has surfaced that suggests townspeople should be afraid.

Steve Dutch, a geologist at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, said the ground beneath them is solid, and that there are no known earthquake fault lines in the area.

Dutch said he heard some people worrying that a sinkhole might open up and swallow homes. That can happen in areas where the ground is rich with limestone and other low-density rocks that can be dissolved by water, he said. But the rock below Clintonville is mainly solid granite that's largely impermeable.

However, he speculated that water and granite could hold the key to the mystery. Granite has small cracks that water can fill, but if the underground water table falls especially low, water can seep out, leaving gaps that cause the rocks to settle and generate loud noises.

"Maybe the very dry winter caused more water to be removed from the water table, either through pumping or natural flow," he said.

A seismic station near Clintonville, a town of about 4,600 people about 40 miles west of Green Bay, has recorded unusual ground shaking since Sunday night. Scientists say such activity can be caused by mining and heavy truck traffic, but since there are no mines or major construction in the area, the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey will take a closer look at the data.

Some residents are having fun with the mystery, which has drawn media attention from around the nation.

Jordan Pfeiler said people stayed up late on the first two nights to walk around listening for booms. They came up with outlandish theories to explain the noise - for example, that the White House was building an underground bunker in the area or that mole men had found a home there.

"And the aliens, of course, there's always the aliens," she said.

Van Beek understands the temptation to crack jokes, but it's no laughing matter to her.

"Everything people think it is has been ruled out. They just don't have answers," she said. "At this point all I want is for it to stop."

I'd also like to add that since we know these elitists are obsessed with their sun, their sun god, and astrological significance, the Vernal Equinox is also the first day the sun is "born" into the new year. Hi Jacko as ya all know I'm an astrologer so I did a research on the Aries ingress, which is when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries. This year last year and the two years befor which is 2009,2010,2011 and 2012 the sun didn't move into aries until the 20th of March. I just thought that this was worth a mention. BTW I checked in 1918 the Aries ingress was March 22.

I just listened to George Noory show from last night and he interviewed Terry from WTAQ an affiliate station in Wisconsin and he said they have exhausted every avenue at this point. The government is assuring residents not to be worried. What a relief (LOL). He said the booms were increasing in intensity and moving south and west of the original location. He said most people were not sleeping and very much concerned seeing that it happens during the night. Maybe we should look back at the other areas around the globe that have had this phenomena and compare it to Jackovesk's sounds he recorded from Wisconsin.

On October 4th, 2010 Eileen Heider heard a loud "boom" followed by her house shaking, the same type of event that is currently happening in Clintonville, Wisconsin. This city is having "Booms" through out the night, people have no idea where they are coming from. City officials are at a stand still to explain this line of events..

She spent to day trying to figure out what happened. It took until the next day when someone went to get some firewood, that they discovered this crack in the ground. The ground had also risen 5 feet high, parting the trees to the side.

Earthquake "booms" have been reported for a long time, and they tend to occur more in the Northeastern US and along the East Coast. Of course, most "booms" that people hear or experience are actually some type of cultural noise, such as some type of explosion, a large vehicle going by, or sometimes a sonic boom, but there have been many reports of "booms" that cannot be explained by man-made sources. No one knows for sure, but scientists speculate that these "booms" are probably small shallow earthquakes that are too small to be recorded, but large enough to be felt by people nearby.

As it turns out....there are many factors that contribute to the "sound' that an earthquake makes. To begin to understand these factors we have to understand the different types of waves, the speed they travel through the earth, and the speed that sound travels through the air.

Perhaps the best way to understand earthquake sounds are from an actual experiment that took place back in the 80's in California by David Hill. Dr. Hill's team recorded sounds that came out of the earth (from nearby small earthquakes between magnitude 2.0 and 3.0) and simultaneously measured the arrival of the P wave on a seismograph. Researchers also reported hearing a sound before the S waves were recorded; this turned out to be the arrival of the P wave. Observations of Earthquake Sounds
Spokane, Washington

The most recent documented earthquake sounds were from a swarm of small earthquakes that unnerved the city of Spokane, WA in 2001. Many of the Spokane quakes were definitely accompanied by "booming sounds". The quakes in Spokane were shallow, sometimes only a mile or two deep. This probably contributed to all the noise they made. Higher-frequency vibrations make the booming sound, and when quakes are deeper, those vibrations are gone by the time they reach the surface. Sometimes the quakes boom even when no vibration is felt.

USGS confirms 1.5 magnitude earthquake in Clintonville

CLINTONVILLE - The U.S. Geological Survey is confirming a 1.5 magnitude earthquake in Clintonville. It was at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

USGS officials tell FOX 11 they are investigating other earthquakes related to the booms and shakes in Clintonville.

A USGS official says this is the lowest magnitude quake he has ever heard of that people actually felt. He says quakes like the one in Clintonville happen all the time in California and people never feel them. He credits Wisconsin's rocks.

The City of Clintonville is holding a news conference tonight to discuss the new information. It will be at the high school at 6 p.m. It is open to the public. You can watch a live stream on fox11online.com.

Residents have been hearing explosion-like sounds since Sunday.

FOX 11's Ben Krumholz is working on the story and will have more on FOX 11 News at Five and Nine.
