Obama (Real Name: Barry Soetoro) says his father served in World War II

Reality check:

Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (Obama's father) Born 4/4/36 Died 11/24/82 at the age of 46

He was 5 years old when WW 2 started, and less than 9.5 years old when it ended.

Lolo Soetoro (Obama's step father) Born 1935 Died 3/2/87 at the age of 52

He was 6 years old when WW 2 started, and 10 years old when it ended.

And nobody at CNN, ABC, NBC or CBS ever thought to check Obama's claim about his father serving in WW2? Of Course they Did'nt!

Hi jackovesk,

That doesn't suprise me.

His maternal grandfather. He has stated it several times. If he said father that time, he meant grandfather. Check your facts.

Hi lindabaker,

I checked that out too. If he meant his grandfather, he got the war wrong, and also as I understand it his grandfather fought for the British not the US.

Wasn't he reading off a teleprompter? Is his speech writing staff out of touch? Sometimes I think they slip things in just to give the public things to talk about!

But at the end of the day, it brings me back to the old joke, "How can you tell when a politician is lying?" Of course the answer is, "Because his lips are moving!".

Best regards,

Steve

I sometimes wonder, Jackovesk, if because Obama is reported to have been tapped at a very young age, if he has become encapsulated in a wave rushing toward shore that is beyond his control. I'm not defending him. I voted for him and will not vote for him again. I just simply won't vote. However, it appears as though he has been molded into the game that is being played out and he has no escape route. Politicians normally lie to get elected. That's standard procedure. He has allowed himself to board a roaring train and this train has no brakes. He has two beautiful children and a wife who I happen to like. I sometimes wonder what sort of President he would have been if he had not been tapped and conditioned.

I'd certainly say so. I believe it was Dr. Pete Peterson that told the story of Obama nearly falling over after being briefed on the mess that America has become. I'm under the opinion that Obama, deep inside, wanted, and likely still wants, to bring about the changes he spoke of during his campaign. But, I'm also quite certain that he now realizes it's going to be impossible. There's just too much pull from "The Powers That Be," whoever or whatever they may be, to maintain the status quo and continue on with their "goals."

We can simply quit voting altogether because I don't think Obama understood how keeping promises as a politician usually works out.

I have never understood the hatred or disdain towards this man.

Racism is still alive and well, there are millions of people who can't stand the fact that a black man is in the White House. The right wing propaganda machine owned and operated by some of the biggest racists of all, keeps the Summer of Hate alive and well with talking heads Beck, Limbaugh, Savage spewing lies about people of all colors and religions. And Obama is the biggest target of all, he's not just President...he's an intelligent man of color, they'll never let up.

How do you figure that racism enters into it?

Perhaps it has to do with all the promises that haven't been carried out (bringing the soldiers home for instance). The vast amount of money that's been spent during his time in presidency, the way that government has been increased during that time.

Why does the race card always come into play when it has absolutley nothing to do with race? Does it shut people up fast?

Fredkc

Teakai;
yup! In the U.S. political arena, it's the 2nd most popular "refuge of scoundrels".
It usually means, "I am unable to manage a rebuttal based upon facts, so I shut down the conversation by changing the subject in the form of an accusation."

Article II, Section 1, paragraph 5 (http://fredsitelive.com/politics/usconst.htm#art2):
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of the President;"

Obama has three problems in this regard:
If he was born in the US, there is no evidence of it.
If he wasn't then his citizenship reverts to his father's. Dad was a UK citizen.
When his mother married an Indonesian, the family was required to become citizens of that country. There is no evidence he "re-affirmed" his citizenship when he returned to the US at age 11, or since.

The second issue I see has more to do with human nature, then physical evidence:
Obama has spent more than $1.5 million to prevent anyone from seeing any document which could solve all this, but claims there is "no problem".

At the same time if there is "no problem", he could clear the entire matter up for a simple $25 duplication fee, and produce his long-form B.C.

Why is that?

PS: As I have experienced racism from both sides of the coin, in this life, I am one of the most rabid anti-racism people you are likely to meet. ;)

I'm afraid we elected a president who's the kind of person who molds the truth to fit his need.

I guess all politicians do it to some extent, but it's not a good characteristic for a sitting president.
he seems to be constantly doing it.
any psychologists out here that have an opinion about this 'self aggrandizement' syndrome?
lies, fibs, manipulations or the truth always come out eventually.

he seems to have a 'self honesty' problem.
it's a real character flaw.

I do and for me, race has nothing to do with it. I've close relatives whose ancestry traces back to Africa.

Like virtually all other politicians, the man is a liar. But that's not why I don't care for him.

His entire campaign smacked of 5th Avenue Marketing. Slogans without substance. But that's not why I don't care for him either.

The hypnotic effect he had on his audience reminded me of Adolph. But that's not why I don't care for him either.

He is part of the system and as part of the system, is the front man or puppet pushing the agenda. That's why I don't care for him.

BTW, I can't stand either major party.

I'm afraid that the 'fundamental change' obama promoted is happening pretty much as planned.
he knew most americans, as they caught wind of what he really meant, would not be happy.
americans bought the soap. now they're lathered up and ticked off.

but his big problem is that he's either seen as too radical or too wishy-washy, not radical enough.
either way you look at him, he's driven the car off the road.

I was a die hard fan and supporter of Obama , I still remember the campaign slogan," "Change We Can Believe In". As a war veteran I was very hopeful that the troops would come home in 16 months as he promised. Well it goes to show a politician is a politician irregardless of color, creed, nationality or religion.

Why are we still in Iraq and Afghanistan ?
Revenues due to the spoils of war. I am not an economist but here goes my attempt to come up with some numbers. In Iraq the reported revenues earned in oils sales between the year 2006 to 2009 was 171 billion dollars.
Afghanistan , the estimated earnings every year in the USA from the opium and heroin trade is estimated at a very modest 30 billion which is rumor to be 3 times higher. So lets just say that the war is creating earnings of up to 100 billion dollars a year irregardless of who is President. Who says that the US is in a economic crisis ?

My conclusion politics is a very lucrative business that has very little to do with the welfare of a nation.

Presidents in my opinion as just figure heads who shut their mouths and take their cut. One thing for sure when Obama leaves office he will be a billionaire and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan will continue, gee I wonder why.

I've lived in the midwest my entire life and can promise you the majority of those who don't like Obama in this area are racist whether they admit it to themselves or not. They may not use the N-word. Heck, they may even have a black friend. But, I know the covert language of racism. I've been around it my entire life.

For example, my mother found it offensive when they showed clips of African-Americans celebrating his victory. Oh, that really bothered her. Felt like they were 'rubbing it in'. She doesn't think she's racist either. LOL.

How about the "arrogant" meme they put out about Obama from the get-go (which I find hilarious). Arrogant = uppity, my friends. So unbelievably transparent they were hoping to incite "white anger".

There may be many who don't like him for other reasons, but to dismiss the blatant racist rhetoric (tailored for this day and age) that is rampant in this country is super, super naive.

You can watch Rachel Maddow deconstruct this racist trend that has been running through politics for decades. To deny it is plain silly.

Racism has been use as a form of control targeting minorities and lower income families. Politics has to do with money and influences, CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS all major newspapers and media agencies will continue to play the game. As a veteran I did not want McCain or Palin in office, I cry at the inauguration of Obama but a year later I woke up as I am still getting emails asking me for money contributions . Politics is just an illusion to keep us busy while the big corporations continue playing both sides. There's no democrats or republicans these politicians don't care about principles, ethics or morality.

Iraq the estimates of civilian casualties are close to 1 million innocent people with another 2.5 million displaced civilians. 72 % of the Iraqi population have inadequate water access. This war has been a total nightmare for this people. For US soldiers over 30 % of the soldiers that come back from war in Iraq and Afghanistan suffer from serious mental health issues.

http://usliberals.about.com/od/homelandsecurit1/a/IraqNumbers.htm

I tend to forget why was it that we went to war in the first place, 911 and Osama Bin Laden ring a bell.

1-911 a strong possibility of a inside job.

2-The Bin Ladens close friends of the Bush family.

You might ask, what does Obama has to do with all of this? I'm only speculating , here is two likely possibilities.

a)- He's getting brief on a lot of misinformation and is totally unaware of what's going on.

b)- He's a willing participant, fully aware of the consequences of his inaction's.

I will go with b) but you guys and gals are free to chose or add other possibilities I have not thought of yet.

Does anyone really believe it's that simple? I certainly do not, but it really doesn't concern me too much. I will continue to visualize him in a positive light.

Putting focus on how bad he is (or could be) essentially guarantees you that timeline. Is that really everyone's goal here? If so, have at it. Far be it for me to get in your way. :)

Blessings to Barack Obama and his family. From the looks of this thread...clearly, they could use it.

Pilotsome I am a dreamer and as a parent of five children I remain very hopeful for a better tomorrow. The answers to resolving our problems will probably have to be more at the grass roots level , communities helping one another. Politics no matter where you go are control by the big corporations. In Puerto Rico where I now live the last governor resigned on 24 counts of corruption charges . The governor raised 5 million dollars to pay off the lawyers, judges and witnesses and got off Scott free, go figure.

Like you I hope that Obama really does something to bring the troops home and stick his neck out to free the American people from slavery through control wages by the big corporations and interest groups. Quite a big task.

I am a dreamer and I pray every day for peace, love, compassion and forgiveness. We are after all at the cross roads of turning our history of suffering, pain ,war and hunger into one of joy, love, compassion, forgiveness and healing. If Gandhi, Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr. could do it why not us. We have the all the tools at our disposal to turn this thing around irregardless of what politicians do or fail to do.

Many many blessings to you and yours.

Yes, it is true that the majority of anti-Obama folks in this country are racist, which is by far NOT the majority of Americans, despite what you might imagine if you watch Fox.

But not so of the contingency of anti-PTB/Govt people who are into conspiracies--they just don't like any politicians period. And those are a tiny minority.

The real truth is most Americans like and support Obama, even though they don't like everything that is going on right now.

Obama deservedly enjoys the same popularity with the American people that Bush did. Mostly because he is carrying on the same policies, the same failed financial and geo-political objectives.

What was the big "Change" we were promised? Simple;

Anyone who disagreed with Bush was quickly branded a "traitor".
Whereas
Anyone who disagrees with Obama is quickly branded a "racist".

In Last Presidential Election:

One of Obama's biggest financial contributors - Goldman Sachs

One of McCain's biggest financial contributors - Goldman Sachs

It would be best to look past the window dressing (candidate) and look at who the puppet masters are. Goldman Sachs had the election tied up no matter which candidate won and I believe Geitner would have been named treasurer in either case.

Divide and Conquer has been used forever. As long as we keep relating to labels (democratic, republican, liberal, conservative, etc) they can keep us fighting among ourselves and we never look behind the curtain at who's pulling the strings. How long are we going to keep fighting over the same issues, which the PTB keep us focused on thru the controlled media, while they continue to siphon off our money into their pockets?

When we let go of our labels and join hands as human beings who all want clean air and water, who all want peace and harmony, who all want decent health care and education, that's when we will have really won the election. LET'S DO IT!

You can go to any country and you find that politics is the same everywhere. In order to run for office you need a squeaky clean good image if the person does not have one you buy the media and create one. Suffice to say politics is the place where deceiving the voter is the order of the day. If you check ie. Kennedy, Nixon, Bush,Clinton, is all about image. Funny thing that the highly criticized ex president Carter has been a avid supporter of humanitarian causes with groups like the Elders, founded by Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Carter is not well liked by democrats and republicans for sticking his nose where it does not belong, or is it because he really cares.

In most recent campaign elections many politicians around the world use the same slogans and speeches as Obama in order to get elected into office, coincidence. Here in Puerto Rico for example our present governor used the same slogan and speeches . Six months later 30,000 government employees that voted for the governor where fired from their job, as the school year begins there's less teachers, custodians, needless to say that most public schools are in a poor state of maintenance lacking in everything you can think of . The voters here are crying foul play, they are saying they where deceive, and that this Governor is the worst in the history of politics in Puerto Rico.Change you can believe in I guess. By the way Puerto Rican politicians make more money than politicians in most states in the US. The more things change the more they stay the same as far as politics is concerned.

Many many blessings to all.:thumb:

IMO, democatic elections are a farce. 'They' lead you to believe you have a choice, with b/s promises, who you wish to govern, but you only ever have 2 choices to choose from...the lesser of two evils come to mind...

minor parties are just there to appease the voter who are disillusioned with the two major parties...another scam...REMEMBER...we work for the governing party that has been elected, they do NOT work for us.

Hi Ross,

There are actually three choices in your elections over there in Aus. The third choice is to null your vote. That way nobody gets elected. Of course the sheeple people will not do this as, after all, whatever will the neighbours think?

I have only ever voted once in my life. I came to the conclusion many, many years ago that the system didn't really need my vote and I didn't really need the system. Hence, I spent my life doing what I wanted to do, travelled the world, lived a fuller life and am content where I am.

Best regards,

It's called "Washington, We Have a Problem", and describes what the office of the Presidency is like today, which is much different than most people imagine, and is unlike that of any other time, including even just a few years ago.
It's a good read.

Steve

Hi Steve,
Yes you are correct, One only has to sign in at voting booth, then put empty ballot form into ballot box and all is legal...not many know this.

Ross
