I've never really been a side-taker. I've never voted for anyone or anything and I don't identify with Republicans or Democrats. One of the liberal-leaning online news I've read for the last 10 years is salon.com. I like about them that they seem to always get at the heart of a matter, as a good journalist should. What I find interesting, is that lately (last 5-6 months or so), they seem to be almost like a soft-core version of Alex Jones. In addition to that, take a look at the comments on the site -- the people seem to slowly be coming around to the same ideas and the same conclusions.

Take a look at these articles and the viewer comments:

http://www.salon.com/food/nutrition/index.html?story=/food/francis_lam/2010/08/04/fructose_cancer_high_fructose_corn_syrup

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/birthers/index.html?story=/politics/war_room/2010/08/04/nation_of_birthers

This doesn't seem like the good liberal media that does what they're told. Perhaps the media is coming around...

Just one misconception: The media has NEVER been liberal. Most media outlets are owned by Conservatives.

Other than that, the more people that know about the dangers of HFCS, the better.

I agree, but they do tend to promote liberal viewpoints and focus on liberal issues. What interests me, is that it seems many of these topics would be strictly verboten a year or two ago.

I think the media is starting to come around in segments, I mean look at the history channel these days. I was shocked this morning to wake up to the news, as I always do and hear the following two news items back to back (paraphrased):

- BP Oil well capped, to be cemented today
- Recent UFO files released from Britain indicate Winston Churchill believed one particular UFO encounter with a military plane was serious enough to classify top secret

Hearing those two stories in the same breath was amazing. UFO's are on par with BP oil spill for news in whats usually a 2 minute segment? Crazy

True.. altough lots of media still laugh about ufo related topics many governments meanwhile have released their secret UFO files over the last two years.

I also noticed al lot of astral news lately in MSM about new earthlike planets being discovered. The fact theyve found leads to life even in our solar system and the sun being active.
They are broadening their horizon :)
