Mubarak sentenced to life

Deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison today for ordering the killing of protesters during the uprising that swept him from power last year.

Presiding judge Ahmed Refaat also sentenced his former interior minister, Habib el-Adli, to life in prison on the same charge.

State television pictures showed Mubarak wheeled into court to hear the verdict in the case against him.

His two sons, Gamal and Alaa, who are standing trial on corruption charges, also arrived in the court, where they stood alongside their father in the cage reserved for defendents.

Former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak suffered a heart attack today just moments after being told he would spend the rest of his life in jail.
Following a lengthy trial, the man who ruled over the country for 30 years was sentenced after being found guilty of being complicit in the killings of protesters during the country’s uprising.
The ruling came at a politically fraught time for Egypt, two weeks before a run-off in its first free presidential election that will pit the Muslim Brotherhood, which was banned under Mubarak, against the deposed autocrat’s last prime minister.

I wonder if every president or ruler was judged for killing protesters disagreeing with their ruling, how many of them would be free?

Preface: Most humans were indoctrinated from early childhood to think that killing someone will send you to hell. There is a difference between a psychopathic head of state sanctioning the murder of his own people and random acts of violence. Why do we allow psychopaths to live at all? In the odd instance where they are actually a mentally deranged HUMAN, we should take measures to allow them to become a part of the human race. .. But, when a leader..or serial kill (just to name a few) are found to be predators, they should NOT be allowed to exist on our beautiful Mother. By nature (no matter what anthropologists have to say about it due to the human conditioning) human beings are not predatory. If we were, we would have teeth like a lion. But, I digress. I'm saying do not suffer a predatory psychopath to live. It doesn't matter if he is a serial killer, a bankster or a head of state.

IMHO he will never see a jail cell!! Sentencing him to life is all about propaganda as this is what the people want so they will seemingly get what they want and the masses will be appeased.

The next report will be that he will be hospitalized until he is healthy enough to do his time and or he will die and in both cases he will be silently slipped away to live in peace in some opulent way until he really does pass......

Just by 2 cents worth :) I agree . Mubarak will never see a prision, how convienient a heart attack the same day, maybe his friends of 30 years ask him for something he wouldn't give and the next move is your out of power, go to jail, heart attack, maybe a trip to the nut house where they can slip him a mickey and he goes to sleep and never wakes up they burn the body no autopsy and case closed .
