Concentrate on the things we have, not the things we have not.

It is human nature to continuously identify the things that are lacking in our lives. You might hear someone complaining that their caviar is stale. Somewhere else somebody is complaining that they have nothing to eat at all. Even when we have everything there will always be that sensation that something is lacking. Find any millionaire out there who is living life to the limit with expensive cars, lots of friends, holidays etc and they might confide in you that life seems so superficial and meaningless.

This sense of lack in our lives is a direct result of our loosing the connection to our true divine self, the self that is always present and always loving and never needs anything other then the present moment. Along the way we have formed the habit of believing we need something outside of ourselves in order to create a sense of fulfillment. Nothing material can ever create that sense of fulfillment for very long because the sense of lack is a direct result of our own disconnection from the divine and loving feeling that is experienced when we are in direct alignment with our true self, Buddha style.

Then comes the Irony. If we choose to focus on the things that we don't have, or the things that we feel are being taken away from us (our freedoms, our liberties etc) then more and more of those things will be perpetually taken away from us until we are left with nothing at all. We will literally be transported to whatever version of the universe best fits our beliefs and expectations in regards to what is lacking in the world around us. The reason this happens is to show us that no matter how far we fall, no matter how deep we delve into the pits of despair as a result of external influences, it is inevitable, due to the immortal nature of our true existence, that we eventually figure out that the lack we perceive on the outside is a direct result of the lack that we feel on the inside. No matter how depraved a life can become it can change in an instant as soon as our internal peace is restored.

All of life's torments and problems are there to act as a catalyst in order for us to each eventually attain internal peace. For internal peace is not a result of good things in our lives, good things in our lives are a result of internal peace.

The effects of internal peace, in one person, on the overall consciousness of the planet is nothing short of profound. Be that person.

Good thoughts jack. We should all sit up in bed first thing in the morning and give thanks and gratitude for at least 100 things in our lives. Do the same thing before bedtime. Simply exercising a universal law. Do not give energy to things you don't have, as you are only fueling the constant lack of them. We must train our mind to overcome the programming that guides us to think life is hard and things are scarce. Live in your imagination and the mind teaches every cell that abundance is the norm and it will become so.
