It has been said that there are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One way is by using the sword, and the other is by using debt. Fortunately, America is not in danger of being conquered by the sword right now, but America is being conquered by debt. The borrower is the servant of the lender, and today we owe China more than a trillion dollars. By running a gigantic trade deficit with us, China has been able to become incredibly wealthy. We have begged them to lend us back some of the money that we have sent them and this has made them even wealthier. Now China is gobbling up U.S. real estate and U.S. assets at an astounding pace. In fact, some cities are in danger of becoming completely dominated by Chinese ownership. One of those cities is Toledo, Ohio. In many "rust belt" areas, real estate can be had for a song, and the Chinese are taking full advantage of this. America was once the wealthiest nation on earth, but now we are drowning in debt and we are being sold off in chunks to the highest bidder. Is this the legacy that we are going to leave for future generations?

Yes, this should be a concern. Take a look at some other headlines China has made this year:

Fed clears China's first US bank takeover (http://www.afp.com/en/news/topstories/fed-clears-chinas-first-us-bank-takeover) (AFP)

Exclusive: U.S. lets China bypass Wall Street for Treasury orders (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/21/us-usa-treasuries-china-idUSBRE84K11720120521) (Reuters)

China says to offer $10 billion in loans to SCO member states (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/07/us-china-sco-loans-idUSBRE85602920120607) (Reuters)

China Investment in Europe Triples (http://www.cnbc.com/id/47713385) (CNBC)

So, China is not just simply purchasing U.S. real estate. They are very slowly taking over U.S. banks, accessing U.S. debt directly (the only country afforded that opportunity), loaning tens of billions of dollars to other countries and organizations (at interest, I'm sure), and investing potentially hundreds of billions in Europe too!

Now as an American, I have no desire for the U.S.A. to remain the dominant nation in the world; however, I have no desire for China to become the new dominant nation of the world (I'm sure many would claim it already is) either. Clearly there should not be one nation, or small group of nations dictating the actions of every other nation and people on the planet.

Humanity needs to overcome this pyramidal hierarchical structure all together. Every human being should be afforded the same unalienable rights and opportunities regardless of his/her residence.

Yes, the Yuan is mightier than the sword! We should have thought of that BEFORE signing up to be the world's police force and sending all our manufacturing over seas. Now a days, the only thing we produce in quantity is debt. Should this really be a surprise to anyone who's been paying attention?
