When did whales - even dead ones - become sacred objects?

Teenagers who posted Facebook pictures of themselves playing on a 12-metre whale carcass at Warrnambool in Victoria have been threatened with a $32,000 fine (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/mobile/national/8501971/teens-whale-photo-sparks-outrage?_sp=2045&_s=ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff)...

Department of Sustainability and Environment spokeswoman Mandy Watson told The Standard interfering with a whale, dead or alive, could attract hefty penalties.

"It is also an offence to approach within 300 metres," Ms Watson said.

The department has warned that anyone who approached or tampered with the carcass faced up to $32,000 and jail time.

The 40-tonne carcass washed up at Eagle Rock on July 16 and could not be moved.

God spare me. Stand on a dead whale and you risk a $32,000 fine. Meanwhile, eat a dead cow and you risk only heartburn.

It’s bad enough that green believers are irrational. Worse is that they are totalitarians.

PS - I posted this because I am more interested in just how advanced your 'Discernment' of 'NWO-Govt. Sustainable Propaganda' is these days...

Just 'How Good' are your 'Gullabilty GOGGLES' :nerd: when it comes to the 'Green Sustainable CON'..???

In a way I agree with you, that it's unbelievable that you would get a fine of $32,000 AND jail time, for even approaching a carcass of a whale. I think it's just another way to control the people, keep them in order, not to 'investigate and get to know more, in this case about a carcass of a whale', if you get what I mean ;)
Thank you for your post!

So do you get the death penalty if you kill a whale or perhaps a dolphin? What has been posted around the internet of late is that The government has been using underwater sound devices beaching whales and dolphins.

Strange little world of ours!

When I was very young, a whale beached in my small coastal village. The people buried it in a ceremonial manner as if a family member had died. We had a temple to worship them as we do our ancestors.

This was widely practiced in the coastal area of Vietnam. Like I said, strange little world you might say :)

It's not really the fine that disturbs me, its the need for it in the first place. Its what is wrong with anyone who wants to play on a dead whale in the first place?

Can I dance on his carcass when he dies? Would that be any different. Would just be a peice of dead rotting flesh. What great outrage would arise if I did that?

The fact that we live in a world that people cannot willingly choose to respect the dead, which is just a physical representation of the life it once led, and have to have to have rules and penalties preventing such low form activities emphasizes how the common populace got so many rules and restrictions in the first place. Because they can't manage themselves. We don't respect the living, we don't respect the dead.

Staying out the let's roll our eyes at the green environmentalists and those staid ordinary common sense people that are even fewer than the green movement.

2) a dead and rotting carcass of a whale may carry disease, infection. Who knows what the zoonosis involved in this is.Infectious vectors that slid in with the whale or perhaps began to habitate after it began to decay may be present. Vectors tat our little darlings that should just be allowed to do whatever they want without reprise are getting all over their feet to carry out into the general populace. We do not know what sort of transmittable parasites may be contained in the whale. Healthy whales do not beach themselves. Never mind how this may affect the general population green or not. If they carry home some weird disease or parasite to their parents I will believe in karma again.

Having a number of animals die on the properties I inhabit I've never had to tell anyone not to dance on their carcasses. I am blessed in that respect. It was a living animal that may have very well died because of human assholery in the first place, and we don't know the zoonosis involved such a strep, Staph, protein based infectious vectors similar to Mad Cow disease or amoebas which are very prevalent in aquatic animals btw that may not be very harmful to the whale but may be harmful if the decided to take up residence in the little arsehole's livers.

On the other hand I sometimes think people should willfully expose themselves to any number of deadly diseases, die, and curb the utter stupidity in the world.

Oh wait, they are already doing that .....

99.9 % would'nt have a CLUE what the 'Department of Sustainability and Environment' Laws are in Australia, and even if they did they 'Honestly' would'nt believe them anyway..!

Check how many laws our Fabian Socialist Globalist NWO Govt has passed since 2007..! (I rest my case) :faint:

They got lucky, the fine for stupid is 64,000.00.

And then imagine this scenario....

What if it was the Queen of England, the Rothchilds or the Rockefellers caught on film dancing on a dead whale.

I'd wager 32,000 myself there would be an entirely different outlook to this whole matter.
