Backscatter x-ray scanners to be removed from Manchester Airport

EU has told Manchester Airport, the only one in the UK with the x-ray scanners, that they must remove them at the end of October. Unlike America we did not have the option of a pat-down choice, it was refuse scan, don't fly.

Avid, so did I, certainly was not going to risk my children going through them.

However, refusing to fly is not going to work when the scanners roll out to movie theatres, malls, shops... then what will we do - refuse to leave home?
