I find myself in the camp of those who believe that Dec 21st will be just another day, with the possible exception of a few secondary events. These could be anything from terrorists attacks to cult suicides.

With that in mind, what is in store for the next year?

Bill still thinks that we are in the window.

Dear All:

I'm as certain as I can be that in the next 6-9 months quite a lot is going to happen that may require us to get our life jackets on (routine and sensible when ocean sailing), work together well, and safeguard our energy, resources and well-being until the storm is over.

Clif High and Farsight.org have the "global coastal event"

http://www.farsight.org/demo/demo2008/RV_Demo_2008_Page1.html

Pope Benedict doesn't look to healthy these days, and we are getting towards the end of St. Malachy's list.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes

Then we have the "Once in a civilization comet" next year

http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/2012/10/05/once-in-a-civilization-comet-to-zip-past-earth-next-year/

Which seems to eerily fit with the Hopi prophecy's Blue Star Kachina

and Nostradamus

Lest we forget. Solar cycle 24

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_cycle_24

I am sure that the list could be much longer, but you get the idea.

So my question is...

Is this all just doom porn? Was 12-21-12 a distraction? Folks jumping on the bandwagon?

Or simply much ado about nothing. Should we instead be paying attention to "Peak Everything" (oil, fertilizer, credit, water) and Climate change?

Or is this all just symptomatic of something deeper in our collective psyche?

http://www.amazon.com/Last-Myth-Apocalyptic-Thinking-America/dp/1616145730

During the first dozen years of the twenty-first century--from Y2K through 2012--apocalyptic anticipation in America has leapt from the margins of society and into the mainstream. Today, nearly 60 percent of Americans believe that the events foretold in the book of Revelation will come true. But it's not just the Christian Right that is obsessed with the end of the world; secular readers hungry for catastrophe have propelled fiction and nonfiction books about peak oil, global warming, and the end of civilization into best-sellers, while Doomsday Preppers has become one of the most talked-about new reality TV shows on television. How did we come to live in a culture obsessed by the belief that the end is nearly here?

The Last Myth explains why apocalyptic beliefs are surging within the American mainstream today. Tracing the development of our expectation of the end of the world from the beginnings of history through the modern era, and examining the global challenges facing America today, authors Mathew Barrett Gross and Mel Gilles combine history, current events, and psychological and cultural analysis to reveal the profound influence of apocalyptic thinking on America's past, present, and future.

Engaging, powerful, and insightful, The Last Myth will change the way you look at the world--and its end.

"The Last Myth is book of ideas born out of this moment in time... This book is one that should be brought to the dinner table for lively and transformative conversation with family and friends. At a time when so much separates us ideologically, these ideas can unite us in our understanding that the only end of the world we really need to fear is the end of our imagination."
--Terry Tempest Williams, author of When Women Were Birds and The Open Space of Democracy

Hey there , i would like to share a link as i came across it lately and it revealed that Lucis Trust (Jesuit created New Age - Helena Blavatsky / Alice Bailey) has a Festival week starting 21 Dec till 28 Dec 2012, know that Lucis Trust merged into The League of nations in the 1920s which became later on The United Nations , well for those who do true research will know that the UN has a massive role in the NWO.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I think were in for one hell of a ride.......energetically speaking....But it may only be in hindsight, when the dust settles a few years from now that we all fully appreciate the transition we will and have been going through these last few years and particularly these next few......

Dec 21st may just be another day.....Chances are it will be,but its the subtleties that should be looked for, peoples receptiveness to new concepts and ideas for living, the way our world works and our relationship with one another. These are the dynamics that have been and continue to change grossly with every passing day and are also the things that are providing the basis for a new shape that the world is taking.....

And one would have to be blind(and many are)to not pick up on these fluctuating pillars of our experience here.

Peace

Dave :)

From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
For intense living in love
Coupled with the beautiful dove,
Is what is my greatest desire
To transform into the best fire

I have always had a special affinity for Mother Shipton's end of the world prediction in 1881. This was her greatest prophesy. She had style and flare for the dramatic!

"Carriages without horses shall go,
And accidents fill the world with woe.
Around the world thoughts shall fly
In the twinkling of an eye.
The world upside down shall be
And gold be found at the root of a tree.
Through hills man shall ride,
And no horse be at his side.
Under water men shall walk,
Shall ride, shall sleep, shall talk.
In the air men shall be seen,
In white, in black, in green;
Iron in the water shall float,
As easily as a wooden boat.
Gold shall be found and shown
In a land that's now not known.
Fire and water shall wonders do,
England shall at last admit a foe.
The world to an end shall come,
In eighteen hundred and eighty one."

There may be alot of storms ahead, but humanity has survived them many times in the past before. Change is upon us and each one of us will have our own journeys to go through... Everything is changing. In my opinion, for the better.

Thnaks for the replies everyone.

I wanted to bump this because I was hoping to have a conversation about the deeper issues.

Is there really doom on the horizon? Or is this preoccupation a symptom of the subconscious fears of our collective pysche?

Itīs nice to see a lot of people already have a handful of spare beliefs read for mindset incorporation just in case nothing happens on the 21th!

After all, prediction junkies canīt live without their fix, right?

The predictions dealers are very smart, I must admit. Most of them already have new dates and theories ready to go.

12 21 2012... it will be an interesting day, either way it goes!
Those who wish to lay down the burden of consciousness will be disappointed in continued existence.
Those who believe in hellfire and brimstone will be disappointed when there is no schadenfreude.

Haha! This is a very possible prediction.

I would go even further and say that some people will say ISON is an alien spaceship. Other people will certainly connect it with ancient myths and prophecies.

As always, people will profit from it, whether by websites advertising, lectures, conferences or selling books/dvds.

Itīs definitively proved that "doom" is a great business.

Edgar Whisenaut, a NASA scientist, had published the book “88 Reasons why the Rapture will Occur in 1988.” It sold over 4 million copies. Letīs say (just a guess) he sold each copy for U$1,00 and profited about $0,10 from each, back in 1988. Thatīs A LOT of money.

Now, go to amazon.com and type 2012 in the search box (hereīs the search result (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=2012&rh=n%3A283155%2Ck%3A2012)). Youīll see how many books are sold under this subject, including best-sellers....Can you imagine how much money this 2012 thing has moved by now?

Then people say that some guys arenīt in it for the money...

Yeap, tons of money made off of this 2012 thing...quite amazing actually.

We'll see the 2013 solar max cycle all hyped up (more than it is right now) and people freaking out over this too, seems many forget we go through this every 11 years and the world is still here....

The sun has been acting a bit weird though, we may see some unusual activity perhaps, but I doubt an ELE event type of flare.....the last decade we just are able to see/watch the sun much better with new technology's, and wow! it sure does look scary!!!! LOL!

It's somewhat entertaining "keeping an eye on things" (and people) :)

Just to complement my reasoning, I will again use this Edgar Whisenaut as example.

Lesson 1: People earn a lot of money with doomsday predictions

Edgar Whisenaut, a NASA scientist, had published the book “88 Reasons why the Rapture will Occur in 1988.” It sold over 4 million copies.

Lesson 2: People continue to make money for some time after their first predictions fail, making up other dates

His other books are:
-The final shout: Rapture report 1989.
-23 reasons why a pre-tribulation rapture looks like it will occur on Rosh-Hashanah 1993.
-And now the earth's destruction by fire, nuclear bomb fire. Prediction for 1994.

Thereīs a pattern here folks...Only the blind canīt see it. The only difference is that the word rapture is not so cool anymore, so they changed it for ascension.

Will you ever learn the lesson?

George Kavassilas, as an example (there are many others like him), was all over this 21/12 thing...Now, when the date is approaching and nothing abnormal is happening, he has already "adjusted" his date to March 21, 2013.

Will you allow all these 2012 preachers to profit from your hard earned money after Dec 21th passes and none of their predictions becomes true? Will you buy their next books and listen to their words?

Itīs your choice.

Raf.

Kill shot solar flare and blinding white light March-April 2013.

Although I don't like timelines, Killshot Solar Flare resonates a little -- but perhaps not a killshot, perhaps a shot directly to the south pole, melting Antarctica, revealing a truth the masses have not seen or even considered ever before ... the start of indisputable start of disclosure ...

Maybe just dreaming, but we'll see what happens in 2013! ;) The most important thing is not in trying to determine the future, but how to find yourself in the present moment! For this will DEFINE the future! ;)

My 2 cents ;)

The myan calendar of the changing cycle is real. The energy flowing in is real. The misuse and sensationalism used as a tactic is a distraction..

Fear and just a little bit of hope are the most amazing of control mechanisms in the ptb arsenal.

Where we fall down is the huge amounts of emotional energy we put into all these " theories " most of which are based on thin air.

The things that are truly going to happen.

Our economic situation is being engineered into an austere rubnish pit. There are entire societies dedicated to this and is un denyable.

Thenext two years will be extremely hard economically.

In this time the greed and passion for controll will ultimately turn the leaders on each other. This will ultimately lead usinto a governmental chaos, which is nessesary. And is inevitable. Evil begets evil and evil loves to turn on its lovers as its the ultimate betrayal. Ultimate betrayal is the embodyment of evil doing.

Come 2014 we will have some big questions as we haul out the shadow govts and splinter the cia, fbi, etc etc. These societies will be disbanded and re located.

2015 june will be the true dawning of the new age of aquarius and the water will pour in. From 2016 to 2031 will be 15 years of amazing prosperity. New electrro magnetic energy, new modern ergo housing. Free and advanced medical and the abolishment of a money system.

We still have a long way to go. I would have two things ready

An evac plan and search a good remote nigh ground evac point.

Have some supplies ready in a coupleof portable boxes just in case. You should have these anyway regardless of the doom and gloom out there.

Once you have these then forget about all the predictions and get on with enjoying your life.
