The way I remain (relatively) unaffected by "world-view warfare" is to simply not engage in it. Be a non-combatant in that regard.

Of course, if you want to affect greater change in the world around you (challenging an existing paradigm, or status quo), you forfeit any such luxury. The butting of heads becomes inevitable, even if your own view is internally impeccable.

I don't think either approach is universally condemnable. Greater changes have been achieved in the past, however few.
