I added the parenthetical "(Amazon.com T-shirt)" to the title of this thread.

As one blogger has stated, "it's Solid Gold Bomb that should be boycotted not Amazon. Let's hope that happens..."
Bad taste and warped humour - just my opinion. :)

Sorry KiwiElf but i disagree "warped humour"? ask the victims of rape if a nano mite of humour occurred when they were being raped. The word humour and rape do not coexist in the victims mind or any right thinking mind!

Camilla has it sorted.:yes4:

Camilla hands out a little TLC to hundreds of rape victims by giving away wash bags with luxury toiletries 'to make them feel more human'.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2273982/Duchess-Cornwall-hands-luxury-toiletries-rape-victims-make-feel-human.html

This blew me away when I read it, making them feel more human? This would make me feel someone else thought I was as dirty as I felt after rape.

Others believe it is a sincere act of compassion and kindness, what does she offer the children who her close family are abusing? Very lacking and hypocritical if you ask me.

The t-shirt slogans were created by a computer algorithm with random words generated.
So no thinking.

Did any one notice the royal crown at the top? Here's Solid Gold Bomb's explanation...

"Although we did not in any way deliberately create the offensive t-shirts in question and it was
the result of a scripted programming process that was compiled by only one member of our staff,
we accept the responsibility of the error and are doing our best to correct the issues at hand."

Just really strange all around.

Ermmm I think we're both saying the same thing - there's nothing humourous about it at all ;). I meant the messages on the T-Shirt are warped humour and bad taste - not the blogger I quoted.

This is all a perfect example of what happens when you remove philosophical discourse from sound reasoning and from everyday life.
One doesn't strive to be stupid, it happens as a result of lack of thinking. It's about missing the mark.

re: the Diesal ad: (Limor's above)
To associate it with being "individual" or a "risk taker" and expressing "individuality" and "freedom" I just can't quite see the humour in something so potentially dangerous, put out as a mass suggestion. That barely cuts it as low satire, maybe not even. It is so suggestive of lack of apathy and giving up. Accepting the status quo, "who gives a crap" attitude, life sucks so 'steal' your pleasure in whatever escape you can find... Maybe in junior high school, (and even that was pure lack of insight, experience and naivete) but to make it a marketing slogan?

I believe we are being tested, and tempted, this could have even been done to get a statistical measure of response rates. And what is with the "royal crown" logo at the top??? un ....... believable....

WOW is all I can say... I'm going to even stop using swear words after that... sobering in its implications... this is my wake up call...

It was all calculated from the start....
One member of our staff??? What a lie!!

This is typical of the extreme greed end of the rag trade...
In the entire clothes industry jeans and T-shirt companies are the greediest,
where the competition is greatest,
and when it comes to slogans anything goes,
as they are aiming for a market that is equally attention desperate.

Using shock value to get their name out there..
I've always found this particular approach really disgusting.
