Well, why it didn't hit main stream media is totally clear to me! ;)

It is more interesting though why it didn't hit the alternative media?!

Diebold Whistleblower Fired; His Wife Speaks Out

Married to Citizen Steve

By Michele Gregory

I've been in love with my husband since I first laid eyes on him - I still remember the exact moment we met. He's a good man. The kind of man who takes off his gloves on a frozen Chicago winter day and gives them to someone huddled in a doorway. The kind of man who makes his wife a birthday cake every year. He's the guy you can trust to do what is right. He's your loyal friend to the end. Hell, he's even kind to animals and children.

We've held each other's hands through good times and bad, helped each other through losses of loved ones, career setbacks and personal disappointments. So when the police came to our door a year and a half ago, we did what we do best: stood by each other. (Technically, we sat down on the sofa, but you get the idea.) It's a completely surreal experience to be guarded by men in bullet proof vests while they search your home. They confiscated cell phones, computers, address books . . . and, come to think of it, I haven't seen my favorite shoes since that day either . . . hmmm . . .

My first thought was that there was some mistake and that this was just one of those odd things that no one will believe actually happened to you. Then I realized they had my computer with all the scripts I'd written for my theatre company. If the DA puts on a talent show - they better not use any of my material!

Steve lost his job and it was difficult for me to be the sole breadwinner. Thankfully, we don't have expensive tastes and are used to making do. 18 months passed and nothing happened. We both got new jobs and were getting back on top of our finances. Steve actually even liked his new job. Really, truly liked it. Then, wham - he was indicted on 3 felony counts. Then on March 23, Steve lost his new job. Someone sent the March 18, 2006 L.A. Times article to his employer. He was called into HR and let go. We knew it was a possibility, but so is being struck by lightning . . . you just stay away from golf courses in the rain and try not to worry about it.

So back I go to earning the sole income for our family - but it's only a matter of time before someone jumps at the chance to hire a highly principled employee who's been fired from his last 2 jobs and has 3 felony charges hanging over his head. Now if we can only get the dog to earn his keep - wouldn't want to interrupt the flow of kibble.

You have to have a sense of humor when your world is crumbling all around you and you can't seem to stop it. Luckily, Citizen Steve makes me laugh a lot. He's the funniest man I know. He's smart - he thinks about things. He reads. He has deeply embedded principles and he believes deeply in truth, justice and the American way. Especially the truth part - never ask how you look in your new dress - he won't lie.

Honestly, this situation just plain sucks. Sometimes I feel like I've been run over by a bus, or by a steamroller - or by a well-oiled political machine.

I could have married a more successful man. I could have married a man who would never get in a fight; who'd never stick his neck out for anyone. Who'd never let what was right get in the way of what was safe or easy. Instead I married a man I continue to be proud of. I married a man who continues to surprise me. Someone to grow with as we grow old together. The kind of man you wish there were more of in this world.

Deep down I believe it will all be fine in the end - after all, sometimes the good guy does win.

Doesn't he?

when they started introducing voting machines the first thing i thought was how easy it would become to manipulate elections if you had acces to the programming of these machines. Like the guy sais, a vote counting program does not take more than a 100 lines of code tops.

How could we ever let this happen...

In general, how can we trust people who want to be in charge...

what are we voting for? We vote for the lyar that tells what we want to hear...

The sickest part is that people around here will still rock the bumper sticker (& attitude) "Don't vote? Don't whine!"

2000 was a joke. I thought for sure these scandals that definitely were mentioned would be acted on, and we'd have an airtight system by 2008--after all...what's more important in a democracy than counting the votes (so as to recommend which way ALL your state's electoral college votes go...hehe!)??

Apparently diebold's proprietary information. Freedom isn't free y'all...

What is the MOST SURPRISING is that except for Donk, all the posters that are flaberghasted and want the American public to realize their elections are rigged ARE non Americans.
This forum has a great majority of American members.

AMERICAN, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Can't you come to term and bring to your consciousness that your whole country has been hijacked?

I just don't get the cognitive dissonance. The Americans that think they think, loooove to talk about Pres elections. They talk seriously how this a democracy (for the people, by the people!) during the exercise where we pretend the voted in our two-party system are counted...where the friggin' state's electoral college votes ALL have to go the same way--it is the most bizarre "equality" or "fair system" or whetever-the-eff they call that nonsense.

And no one even cares that the company that does most of the voting machines, aren't demanded to provide paper reciepts. The company makes ATMs FFS!!! Would you be OK with a cash machine that "can't" print a reciept??

We deserve the deMOCKracy we have.

It's even funnier for me come election time, I love people trying to tell me my vote counts, to stop telling people they waste their time with that crap. We get 3 whole electoral votes. Any mathemeticians here want to give me the odds of my recomendation to the electoral college (whoever the eff that is, btw) actually makes a difference?

Because most of us here are already well aware of this type of corruption. It's old news. And if you think it's simply a matter of 'waking up' or taking action, look at Occupy Wall Street and all the good it has done. It will take a lot more than a few upset voices to change this status quo which, again, is nothing new.

Just talking about it, let alone participating in it, perpetuates it. It is so sad that so few can see it. It's just another dumb drama, that I keep letting myself get sucked back into....ugh. Done...just had to chime in. Maybe someone who doesn't know better will say, "hey, I never THOUGHT about it that way"....but probably not, I'm with FF on that, I guess. I just gotta vent every once in a while though  :o :(

I just added the qualifier "(Diebold US election fraud)" to this thread's title, as part of my ongoing campaign to keep thread titles informative :).
