I'm sorry, excuse my ignorance but what am I looking at? And what is the big picture?
Sometimes I just need help even if it means exposing my own ignorance.
Thank you

If you click the photos it links to an article.

In short: The balloons are being tested by google to provide Internet to remote areas. Cool stuff.

Unless of course it is a trap to allow the NSA to spy on those in the most remote areas of our country!

Thanks, Violet. Interesting to note in the first vid, Goggle uses a young child to promote it's internet access.

Balloon powered internet: Google X tests Project Loon pilot helium balloon in New Zealand

Codenamed Project Loon, Google has released helium filled balloons into the sky in the heart of New Zealand's South Island as part of an experiment to get the planet online by beaming the internet down to earth. The balloons, which are fifteen metres in diameter when inflated, fly twice as high as a commercial plane, and are able to send internet access to the ground below with similar speeds to most 3G networks, local media has reported. Google X, the team behind Google Glass and driverless cars, is the brains behind the project which was officially unveiled in Christchurch. Report by Katie Lamborn.

Well, when I first heard of the project I did not think of white but colourful balloons. When I saw the picture I was immediately reminded of the Prisoner, an episode which really revolves around the all-seeing eye. The white balloon kills those who resist (at least that's what I understood it to do).

Yes, that's the subtle psychology used in their advertising.
