In any research ones does for documentation, you must understand the format and the processes involved that the military uses. Once you have a base to start from, such as a regulation or instruction, you can interpret the contents of such, and identify how the military would use those instructions to collect data. Further operational activities such as OPREP 3s are certainly collected under the various regulations and manuals pertaining to such matter across the Army, Air Force and US Navy. There are classified military documents (regs etc) which are associated with unclassified regulations and instructions, some who's very existence is classifiable in itself.

I can confirm every branch of government of the military is collecting UFO related data.
