I've just finished an epic marathon session of watching the entire 22 episodes of this on Netflix, I've got to say I enjoyed it...

It seemed to cover quite a lot of "alternate thinking", such as a parallel alien race living amongst us for millenia, power struggles in upper government, even a couple of references to "blue beam".

What do others think? Has it been discussed elsewhere?

Whilst I was a tad disappointed at the abruptness of the ending, on reflection I think they got it right. Very clever. I can't see where they could have gone with it in terms of further series based on this, they'd have been competing (and losing! ) with the original 'V' in my opinion.

Diddnt they axe the series? I only remember seeing up to episode 14 or something.

A few other TV show's like it were also axed after the first season, also ones that seemed to follow there "We're showing you how it kinda is right to your face! all within a "science fiction" show!" theme

It was axed at the end of the first season. It joined a host of pretty good shows that got cut short.

V, Jericho, The Terminator-The Sarah Connor Chronicles were some of the shows that had an early demise.

Not yet, but my husband was Blair Underwood's photographer, when the season 1st started and he went to see the troops in VA. We still have 3 pictures by the tv, w/hubby, Blair's sister and he, outside the plane and in the cafeteria on base.

Now that the whole series is on Netflix, I think I'll delve into the Event.

Thanks.

One of the strange things about this series is that near the end, the aliens, in order to show their power, caused the Washington Memorial to crumble right before the President's eyes.

About two months after the episode aired, there was an Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 (very unusual for us on the East Coast) and it cause damage to the Washington Memorial which is still closed to this day.

The power of human consensus thought, for reality co-creation?

Or, the power of the human dream, the duality of the mind....to read the future time lines?

Or BOTH?

Since we affect reality and have a consensus reality and we can see through time lines......it can be both.

A wise person, a single person....with the right knowledge and the right words, spoken and acted out at the right time, can steer the entire human race, as the humans are not aware of how this reality thing works.

If that frightens you, then...... your alternative is to wake up to who you really are.

I think it's the power of Hollywood to tell us what is really happening, or what is going to happen. In this instance, I think "The Event" hit a little too close to the truth, which might be why it only lasted on season.

Sometimes I also think that our creativity and concentrated thinking does create the events, often presented by Hollywood first. We give them the crooked ideas about how they could manage us with our books, novels, etc.

Not many movies for example are like the LIFE OF PIE, most are horrendous. And we concentrate on these, millions of people, creating the momentum for materialization of nightmares for one, while gaming or viewing TV or movies, and also by giving the ideas on how to proceed to implements the nightmares.

just watched them all, very entertaining. Canīt believe how many "conspiracytheory" references they managed to squeeze in there, some less subtle than others. Whoever wrote it probably spent alot of time on forums like this.
