((I don't know how the smiley face ended up next to my thread title, sorry about that, mods can you take that off??))

I wasn't sure if you guys have seen this news yet, but it appears that a flight out of Medina (Seattle region, where Gates lives) WA has culminated in a deadly crash, killing a former Microsoft executive and his son. It was a smallish aircraft but it managed to destroy a couple houses in Connecticut. I think this might have hit the press within the last hour or so.

EAST HAVEN, Conn. -- A former Microsoft executive from Seattle and his son are believed to be among the victims of a plane crash that devastated two homes this morning and is believed to have killed at least two people.

Bill Henningsgaard, a former vice-president of Microsoft, had his son on board the small plane that crashed near Tweed New Haven Airport and engulfed two houses in flames, according to a report (http://bit.ly/18hvdS6) by KOMO 4 news in Seattle, Wash. The report quoted Astoria, Ore., Mayor Willis Van Dusen, who knew the Henningsgaard family.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy says crews working at the scene of a plane crash in a residential neighborhood have seen two bodies.

The small plane went down Friday morning as it attempted to land at Tweed New Haven Airport and engulfed two homes in flames. Officials say at least three people are missing, including the pilot and two children in one of the houses, ages 1 and 13.

Malloy says crews see two bodies but that neither has been recovered.

The crash of the multi-engine, propeller-driven plane caused the partial collapse of two small homes a few blocks from Tweed New Haven Airport. Firefighters found both homes engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The missing include the one person on the plane and two children in a house, ages 1 and 13, East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo said.

"We haven't recovered anybody at this point and we presume there is going to be a very bad outcome," East Haven Fire Chief Douglas Jackson said.

The children's mother is on scene and is being consoled by authorities as well as her priest.

The homes that were struck are at 64 and 68 Charter Oak Ave. Both homes are seriously damaged.

The plane, a Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B, flew out of Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and crashed at 11:25 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Tweed's airport manager, Lori Hoffman-Soares, said the pilot had been in communication with air traffic control did not issue any distress calls.

"All we know is that it missed the approach and continued on. There were no distress calls as far as we know," she said.

A neighbor, David Esposito, said he heard a loud noise and then a thump. "No engine noise, nothing," he said.

"A woman was screaming her kids were in there," he said.

Esposito said he ran into the upstairs of the house, where the woman believed her children were, but they could not find them. They returned downstairs to search but he dragged the woman out when the flames became too strong.

Maturo offered sympathy to the children's mother and their family.

"It's total devastation in the back of the home," he said.

At least two people are dead after a small plane attempting to land at Tweed Airport in rainy conditions crashed into two East Haven, Connecticut houses this morning, sources at the scene tell NBC Connecticut.

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo said two families are involved. They have not confirmed names or ages of those dead.

"My condolences to the families involved," he said. "There's two families involved here. Airplane and the people who were on the ground here in in East Haven. Our hearts go out to them. We have people assisting the family here in East Haven."

Maturo said officials only know they have two victims.

"We don't know who. We don't know. We don't know the ages. We can't really get into the house right now. It's still unstable. We're waiting for the NTSB to arrive."

Until then, investigators will not be able to determine how many people are in the house.

The plane is registered to Ellumax Leasing, out of Medina, Washington and the tail number is N13622.

Family members in Oregon said the plane belongs to Bill Henningsgaard and that he and his son, Max, left the West Coast on Monday to tour colleges on the East Coast. New Haven was on itinerary.

The family has not been notified by any officials in Connecticut, but confirmed to us over the phone that the plane belonged to Bill and they believe he and his son were aboard when it crashed.

During a news conference this afternoon, Gov. Dannel Malloy said they "have visuals of two bodies."

"That does not mean that's the limit. In fact, we're sharing a lot of information about how that number may in fact be higher, based on reports we're getting from other airports, as well as folks on the scene who are familiar with the house."

East Haven assistant fire chief Charles Licata said they have not positively identified the victims.

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo said this morning that two children, ages 1 and around 13, were in the house when the crash happened and are unaccounted for.

"We are doing everything we can for the mom," Maturo said.

The mother was with her priest and family members, according to the mayor, who is asking people to stay away from the scene.

The National Transportation Safety Board will be taking over the scene, according to the mayor and investigators will know more when the team arrives.

"When they get here and they take the investigation, then we will be able to search a little closer,' Maturo said.

The crash happened around 11:25 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration, when when a Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B coming from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey crashed in the densely populated residential neighborhood on approach into Tweed.

Malloy said it appears the crash happened upon "reapproach."

He added that air traffic control was manned as the plane was approaching.

The houses the plane hit are 64 and 68 Charter Oak Avenue, according to Maturo, and both were destroyed.

"As far as the response, it was like a motor vehicle accident with two houses involved," East Haven Fire Chief Douglas Jackson said. "It was two structure fires and a fuel-filled vehicle involved."

Several departments responded, including New Haven and Branford.

Officials have not been able to get into the house because it is too unstable. There is also water in the basement.

One house has partially collapsed and neighbors said earlier that they saw emergency workers take children from one house.

Tweed Airport officials said the pilot communicated with the airport and there are appear to be no distress calls.

Tweed Airport is closed, airport officials said. Flights scheduled for 12:39 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. were canceled. They are also waiting on the NTSB.

Officials said this is very early in the investigation.

Neighbors who were home when the plane crash happened report hearing a loud boom, then seeing a raging fire.

Tara Gallo said she lives several houses away and heard what sounded like an explosion. When she looked out the window, she saw flames.

Bill Henningsgaard and his son have been killed in a plane crash in Connecticut, according to Astoria Mayor Willis Van Dusen who was with the Henningsgaard family Friday as news spread.

Henningsgaard, the son of former Astoria Mayor Edith Henningsgaard-Miller and brother of Blair Henningsgaard, Astoria's city attorney, was attempting to land at the Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport in Connecticut Friday morning.

Henningsgaard's plane struck one home before crashing into a second at 11:22 a.m., with a family inside. Two children, ages 1 and 13, are believed to have died in the home. Their mother survived.

Henningsgaard, a former employee of Microsoft in sales and marketing and the acting executive director and board chair of Eastside Pathways, was flying a Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B turbo prop plane.

According to NBC, a first landing attempt was unsuccessful for unknown reasons. The crash occurred on the second attempt.

Officials said there were no distress calls before the crash.

A witness, Russell Hickson, told NBC Connecticut that he noticed the playing flying eerily low over the neighborhood just north of the airport.
"It went dead quiet" before it went down, Hickson said.

Greg Watras, 27, who lives seven houses away, awoke to the sound of fire engines tearing down the street and towering flames.

"It was a big fire, the biggest fire I ever seen," he told NBC News.

In 2009, Henningsgaard and his mother crashed into the Columbia River following a mechanical problem with the plane he was flying. The two were on their way to Seattle, when the engine died. The Columbia River Bar Pilots rescued the pair.

The author Iain Banks, for example. Just found out about his death. My suspicion is that he was 'put down'. Read of his public actions and public stance.

He ended up with a bizarre form of cancer that is rare and is almost always found very late and always far past the point of being able to fix or slow it. Which is just too good to be true, for those who would want him to shut up and go away.

I really wonder how many plane crashes in the history of aviation were no accident at all... and considering you're something like 50 times more likely to die in an auto accident, airplanes must be incredibly safer than it would seem.

It would be an amazingly peaceful world without the Parasites That Be... even with all the brainwashing.

At some time in my past I read an article that brought awareness to the high coincidental numbers of those, who were trying to bring about controversial information of awareness, who perished in plane crashes

To get an idea of what I am talking about all one has to do is Google : "suspicious deaths from airplane crashes" and you will understand where I am coming from.

Political opponents :mmph: of governments appear to have a very high mortality rate caused by air plane crashes.:plane:

I understand and I'm not sure about the plane crash, at all.

Iain Banks is a different case, IMO and IME.

The plane has a serious safety record issue, two prominent examples being having taken the life of Audie Murphy and nearly killing Ted Kennedy.

But..the other side of the coin is....the owner of this plane in this story here, is a case where the plane has gone through many many iterations and most of the flaws had been worked out. The owner had a very late version, a well worked out version. The plane had been in production for 30 years and has gone through MANY changes and iterations/upgrades. It even had a very low stall speed. And was perfectly capable of running on ONE engine. Yet both failed, from the reports on sounds heard. Totally silent, which means no engines.


I'm reminded of Angela Merkel, who's helicopter somehow.. mysteriously, impossibly...had a 'astronomically low odds - may as well have been impossible' double engine failure, just after she disagreed with Israel.

It is important to understand that this plane crash has little to do with Israel (I mean stolen Palestinian land), either speculatively or publicly or whatnot. I merely noted the thing with Iain banks, and it's connection with world affairs and clandestine Israeli/US policy and actions. I noted this as a point to be aware of with regard to this plane crash having aspects that place it in the area of not being 100% a sure thing of 'purely an accident'.

Again, no idea of it has any connection to Israel, nor trying to indicate such... just that 'these sort of hidden operations can take place', and my example being the circumstantial evidence of two situations which may have involved elitist hidden actions that are not on the surface, and might center around Israeli/US actions.

I think you mentioned Israel around five times not including the name Israel under my own location : ) Is there anyone you want me to phone and ask? just kidding. Yes, as I said all possibilities are open, It also may be that we are a little quick to draw conclusions. The risk is to go one step further and conclude that the former vice-president of Microsoft, Bill Henningsgaard, will rest in piece, has spied for the Israelis (mind you, I do not defend any of my countrie's misbehaviours)

Oh man, I always have this strange dream of planes braking and falling down. Several of them (dreams) at intervals in the past. My dad also had similar dreams. Since I know I may be in different time lines and at different places in my dream states, I wonder what this may mean right now. For me this was the beginning of something unpleasant, at least that was the after taste of the dreams.

In the mind of a trained pilot initiating a go-around, he's should be thinking; Aviate, navigate and then communicate. A go around isn't necessarily an emergency. Could be something as simple as he wasn't anticipating the winds on final, or maybe wasn't lined up with the center line. Fly the plane, realize where you are in relation to the ground / runway / obstacles and then tell a controller what you're doing. Mix up the order and bad stuff can happen. Maybe we notice air accidents when elite are involved, because they have the kind of scratch needed to own and maintain aircraft, thus putting themselves at a higher risk. Lot's of GA accidents imop are guys with too much money and not enough skill in their aircraft.

I wanted to share an update regarding the direction being taken by Bill Gates in managing the Microsoft Board of Directors, because Bill Gates has a record of taking advantage of illness and even death when it comes to advancing his personal and corporate interests. In fact the way he treated Paul Allen makes me wonder if he is taking advantage of Henningsgaard's death (what percentage of MS stock did Henningsgaard hold?) in order to change things for Microsoft that might have been more difficult to enact while H was still alive. Of course this is pure speculation. I risk a lot by saying things about that man, but all you have to do is Google -- and check out what a scumbag Horatio Gates was during the revolutionary war, it will explain a lot about the modern Gates, lol

“Our board and management team are committed to enhancing growth and value for Microsoft shareholders, and we look forward to ValueAct Capital’s input,” said Steve Ballmer, Microsoft chief executive officer.
That is not 8%, it is .8%. Gates owns 5.47%. Ballmer owned 3.95%. And, Gates is as close to a controlling shareholder as a company (without owning a majority of the stock, or voting control) could have because of his role as founder. Gates, in other words, must have signed off on the deal.
And, it must me Gates' deal completely. Probably, he has decided that an outside director with an aggressive temperament will roil a board which has acted as minions to Gates and Ballmer. Bill Gates tried to cut his Microsoft co-founder out of the business when he fell ill with cancer, according to a damning memoir by Paul Allen.

Mr Allen claims that Mr Gates wanted to dilute his share in the company when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease in 1982 because he didn’t think he was working hard enough.

He accuses Mr Gates of ‘mercenary opportunism’ and trying to ‘rip him off’ - even though he later backed down.

In his autobiography Mr Allen paints an unflattering portrait of Mr Gates as a slave-driver who publicly belittled co-workers and jeered at them for wanting to take time off.

To anybody who disagreed with him he would reel out his favourite insult: ‘That’s the stupidest f****** thing I’ve ever heard!’

The book - an adaptation of which can be read in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine - has supposedly created a rift between the two men who had met at primary school and formed one of the most iconic business partnerships in the world.

They had previously been thought to enjoy a warm relationship over their years working together.

Mr Allen writes: 'At 13, Bill asked me: "What do you think it's like to run a Fortune 500 company?" I said I had no idea. Bill said: "Maybe we'll have our own someday"'

The memoir however paints a portrait of seething rivalry and bitterness on the part of Mr Allen that goes right back to the beginning of the company.

Mr Allen writes that in 1977 when he and Mr Gates signed the key computer operating system contract which launched Microsoft, Mr Gates insisted on a 64-36 split instead of 50-50.

‘I tried to put myself in his shoes and reconstruct his thinking,' Mr Allen writes. 'I concluded that it was just this simple: What’s the most I can get?'

Mr Allen agreed but when he later tried to renegotiate because one of his projects was a success, Mr Gates refused. ‘In that moment, something died for me,’ Mr Allen writes.

‘I'd thought that our partnership was based on fairness, but now I saw that Bill's self-interest overrode all other considerations.

‘My partner was out to grab as much of the pie as possible and hold on to it, and that was something I could not accept.’

Mr Gates is portrayed as a workaholic who pushed one colleague to put in 81 hours in four days then laughed at his request for days off.

Mr Allen writes of having rows with Mr Gates that lasted hours and left him so angry he couldn’t speak to him any more.

By 1982 it had all become too much for Mr Allen who writes: ‘My sinking morale sapped my enthusiasm for my work, which in turn could precipitate Bill's next attack.’

That year he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and was not able to put in the punishing hours Mr Gates asked of him.

One evening he was in the office and happened to overhear Mr Gates talking to Steve Ballmer, now Microsoft’s chief executive, about cutting him out of the business.

‘They were bemoaning my recent lack of production and discussing how they might dilute my Microsoft equity by issuing options to themselves and other shareholders. It was clear that they’d been thinking about this for some time,’ he writes.

‘Unable to stand it any longer, I burst in on them and shouted: "This is unbelievable! It shows your true character, once and for all." I was speaking to both of them, but staring straight at Bill.

‘Caught red-handed, they were struck dumb. Before they could respond, I turned on my heel and left.

‘I replayed their dialogue in my mind while driving home, and it felt more and more heinous to me.

‘I helped start the company and was still an active member of management, though limited by my illness, and now my partner and my colleague were scheming to rip me off. It was mercenary opportunism, plain and simple.’

Mr Allen, 58, left Microsoft the following year but retained his stake in the company which has gone on to leave him with a personal fortune of $13.5billion (£8.4billion) meaning he is the 57th richest man in the world.

Mr Gates, 55, is at number two and is worth $53billion (£33billion).

In a statement Mr Gates said: ‘While my recollection of many of these events may differ from Paul's, I value his friendship and the important contributions he made to the world of technology and at Microsoft’.

There was Windows Vista, but then came Windows 7.

There was the Kin, but there was also the Xbox.

The company fell way behind on mobile, but it still plays a huge role in corporations.

Microsoft has had many stumbles and failings over the years, but it’s also had its successes and strengths.

That bad-news, good-news split is indicative of the challenges, and the advantages, facing any successor to Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer.

Ballmer, who has been CEO for 13 years, announced Friday that he would be retiring once his successor has been chosen within the next 12 months.

Here are five challenges, and five advantages, his successor will face.

Cash reserves

Microsoft has huge cash reserves — about $77 billion in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments.

That should help it fund — should it choose to do so — the development of new technologies, the acquisition of companies that fit into its strategic goals or, as in the case with Bing and Xbox, the time to wait it out while building market share.

No survivors after plane hits hangar at Santa Monica Airport

(CNN) -- A business jet crashed into a hangar at the Santa Monica Airport on Sunday. No one survived the crash and subsequent fire, but authorities did not immediately determine how many were on board.

The twin-engine Cessna Citation ran off the right side of the runway after landing at 6:20 p.m. PT, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.

The hangar collapsed and was too unstable for firefighters to enter, said Captain John Nevandro of the Santa Monica Fire Department.

"It was an unsurvivable crash," Nevandro said.

Charles Muttillo, vice president of Morley Builders of Santa Monica, issued a statement Monday saying the company's president and CEO and his son were believed to be on the plane.
"We are aware of a plane crash at Santa Monica Airport last night. While we do not have specific facts, we believe that our President and CEO, Mark Benjamin, and his son, Luke Benjamin, a Senior Project Engineer with us were on board," the statement read. "We are unable to issue a further statement at this time. We will provide you with more updates as soon as we learn of them. Thank you."

Various models of the Citation jet carry from seven to nine passengers, according to the manufacturer's website.

A witness, Charles Thomson, told CNN affiliate KCAL-TV a tire on the plane appeared to burst.

"It wasn't an emergency landing," Thomson said. "It was just a landing, and the tire popped afterwards."

The plane departed from Hailey, Idaho, an area popular for vacation homes, KCAL reported.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived Sunday night, but they did not expect to be able to reach the plane until Monday, KCAL reported.
