Abby Martin gives a heartfelt remark about Einstein's 'Circle of Compassion' by reflecting on how to balance personal stability with the plight of humanity by establishing a sense of global empathy.

Abby Martin: “Be the change we want to be. We have to trust, THAT IS changing the world.”

Albert Einstein: “A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Oh drats! I thought we were past the small and live from the greater perspective.

What I’m learning:

Being a clever researcher is not always the goal.
There are some that will find fault even with Mother Theresa.
Every one is entitled to their opinion.
Stop judging, [fill in the blank]. Is not the same as: Stop judging [fill in the blank]. See the difference?

So, I'm guessing you are not one of those that finds treasure amongst the dross? Hidden gems every where? I am. Simply because I am open to them.

Not a fault but an interesting fact here Paula on Mother Theresa.

Mother Theresa was born on August 26th 1910. But she considers her birth date August 27th of 1910 on the day she was baptized.

Its indeed a priveledge to share my same birthdate with her.

Hi WhiteFeather,

Got my calendar marked for August 26th and some holy water set aside. I'll sprinkle it to the four directions. If you catch wind of some sage, that's my blessings to you.

After I posted on Mother Theresa, I thought I better replace with someone no one can dispute. But I didn’t want to go hunt for another picture, upload to photobucket, and then replace. (It’s like multi-step cooking.)

There’s a point of view, which I agree about Mother Theresa. She IS Love and Compassion. But how to get there, I don’t agree with.

We do not need to suffer, to work through ‘original sin’, in order to get to the good stuff. Purity states come when we shift our focus. Be happiness, joy, bliss, etc. Nothing complicated. Blindfolded by beliefs that are in a need of an upgrade. An adjustment of perception. Ahhhhh.... choice... cool invention.

Geez, stating the obvious. Leaving now....

Peace and Love,
Paula

Einstein had an amazing imagination. He would "meditate" for hours while thinking up some truly profound thoughts for the time. it was almost as if he could tap into the universal consciousness and pluck out information.

People often bash his theories but they were the basis that many built on and contributed greatly to the intellectual debate on reality and the universe around us.

I find his perspective on life just as revolutionary as his theories on time, space and the universe.

Nice avatar, Octavusprime. ;)

I read/heard some where that Einstein didn't want to waste time with sleep. So he'd lay on a balance beam with arm outstretched and a dumb bell in each hand. When one dropped, he'd awaken. Often with answers that he set out to discover as he went off to sleep.

I wonder. Could that be how he kept his hair style so electric before the invention of hair gel or curling irons?

Sorry, Einstein. :wave:ing
A loving poke-poke from a secret admirer.
