I just watched The Fourth Kind and I am curious as to your thoughts on this movie. A google search produces articles that say this is a total hoax. Does anyone know if this true? Was the movie based on someone's experience, or is it a made for Hollywood total fabrication? I realize that there are thousands of abduction stories and that there are those that have documented them. My thinking is this is just a story made from someone's knowledge of information on abduction, or else it has a background in a someone's real experience. I could see how some would want to debunk this movie if it had a solid reality behind it, but if it didn't then the hoax stories are the facts in this case.

i don't know if the cases in the film were true, but here in italy we have something similar,a professor of the university of Pisa (resercher of organic chemistry) ,Corrado Malanga has studied many cases of abduction through hypnosis, and listening to some recordings it seems like listening to an exorcism, this is because he gets in touch with these called "memoria aliena passiva" (passive alien memory) wich parasite the mind of the abducted
he started this research like 20 years ago, when he was part of the italian national ufologic center wich he left soon (he said they didn't want him to go further with this research cause they are part of the italian intelligence controlling the information about ufos),now he gathered a lot of data on the subject and wrote many documents about it that you can get form his site for free in pdf format, but it's in italian and i don't know if there's an english translation of his work
you should try to interview him ,but i don't know if he speaks english, maybe you'll need a translator, not me as you can see my english is not perfect :)

Well horizon i think the film was based on many abduction scenarios compiled by alien abduction researchers, although i did read somewhere not sure where now, that these were true cases the film focuses on a area where a clutch of people were having similar visitations and they had seen the same large eyes type greys but it was portrayed as owls eyes.
I remember when the film first came out that many who watched the film where actually coming out saying they had,had similar experiences and they too thought they had been abducted.
The theory of the owl eyes is nothing new, and my own grandson would say when he was very small around 2 and half years he saw an owl looking through his bedroom window at night, when i heard this i freaked out because i knew from own abduction scenarios and of my children's it was now passed down to him.

Thanks JD for your input - it is appreciated. I felt that there had to be an underlying truth to the story, but that it was jazzed up for the big screen. I am curious though as to why we (I realize these are private sessions, but could be released) have not had recordings or films "released" of these hypnotic sessions (if in fact they exist on film) that could really help us all understand this phoneme better? My thinking is that this type of disclosure would help many people.

these "beings"- using sumerian language- was an interesting insertion to the movie plot....
the language theories (although based on a canadian researcher) seemed in alignment with sitchin in that these beings were astronauts from the sky. images of rockets etc
but unfortunately this was a skipped over detail; but it definitely sowed the seed that sumerian mythology formed and shaped the bible HUNDREDS and hundreds of years before....

not much was really explained in this movie apart from the usual "she is crazy..." from police authorities and that there is a force out there to be FEARED (i am weary of this version).

i personally feel that these abductions were real; but involved the military/shadow gov.
there are said to be many underground bases and portals in remote Alaska.
indeed, Alaska must be perfect for research/studies (hence people, esp children who vanish). No wonder the FBI are clueless.
just my thoughts.

I did wonder if Dr Abigal Tyler really existed though...am sure she is drugged up now in some institution as I saw that she was sitting in a wheelchair in that "archived" interview.
the footage seemed real to me. it was really interesting- far more so than the re-enactments...

i watched this at the cinema, and left feeling that the woman in the film should not have been practicing psychotherapy as she herself had un resolved issues....i my humble oppinion i would put it in the same catagory as blair witch thing, which was really naff. as to the authentisity of this film story i say nooooo it was all not cosher, thats not to say that strange things happen to folk in those parts of the world, just didnt believe a word of what she said.

I can't find it anymore, but I think it was Kevin Smith who debunked the movie ...

the original promotion said the film was closely based on an alaskan town's abduction experiences.
the film intercut what was purported as actual documentary footage along with the 'reenactment' movie footage.
it turns out that it was all a put up, like the Blair Witch Project.
the reenactments were highly fabricated and only very loosely based on actual events.
it worked for the BWP, but the cat got out of the bag shortly before the films opening and put the kibosh to a
big box office.
nonetheless, it's a creepy, interesting film. just not too accurate as it claimed.

as I've following ufology, it does seem that any really fantastic event or video footage usually turns out to be made-up.

darn.

i saw it, struck me as disinformation to create an negative emotive reaction, tied up in a neat little money making package. Entertainment, or and Entrainment?

I rented the movie and let it play but couldn't watch it. For me it was so boring and the blue lens didn't help.
I thought it would be pretty good, for one thing, because I like the subject, (UFOs) but honestly I couldn't tell you If the movie had them or not.
I couldn't tell ya what was going on in that dreary, claustrophobic, icy town.

I watched this film recently (I must note that it took me a couple of attempts to watch it in its entirety as I found it quite boring) and also agree that it is cleverly packaged fear mongering and disinformation. I'm quite surprised that anybody truly believed the "real footage" to in fact be real, it was terrible acting in both the "Real" footage and the acted scenes.

I've found Close Encounters of the Third Kind, or Contact to be much more enjoyable ET contact films.

The movie is exactly that a movie both the supposed real footage and dramatization, take a look at this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fourth_Kind

Although that is not to say it is not based on facts.

On a strictly cinematic level, I think this movie is terrible.

It's very insulting to it's audience in the use of split screen, as if we can't follow, and touts all this footage as REAL.

Do you think a family would REALLY release police video - and graphic at that - of a murder suicide? No.

Otherwise, I think this movie had some interesting things to say. I just wish it would have used a different format.

After Roswell, our government contracted with Greys and some other species for technologies. Starting on bases and eventually in Area 51 ~ Greys were given permission by the U.S. government to abduct people for their own purposes which involved continuing their bloodlines and other purposes. Since we live on a free will planet ~ it was required that permission be granted by the abductees and if refused, they were released. I have no personal knowledge of this but it's something I got from what I consider reliable sources. The worst acts where done by the U.S. Government and alphabet agencies who also abducted people for malevolent purposes and they killed animals and used high tech flying craft to do this ~ the end result is pretty scary and was taken up by Hollywood who makes big bucks from scary movies.

It is my understanding the Greys could only approach people using theta impulses or waves which left holes in those peoples memories and strange sensations that may or may not be accurate. Not enough is known about alpha, beta, delta, theta but all these will be revealed soon. Know that no aliens are allowed to harm anyone at this point in Earths evolution. We have so many motherships from Celestial beings aiding and guiding us, not a single other force is allowed to penetrate inside Earth's protective shield. There is a new grid that's been laid, too, that changes many things to be explained soon.

The only thing that remains from our total freedom from the tyranny and abuse, wars, and enslavement is our concept of ourselves. We have the power if we learn to work in unity to transform all the remaining darkness into light. The winds of change are sweeping around the world and are coming to your location next. The questions is will you be ready for freedom? Can you turn off your television's brainwashing capacity with a snap of your wrist? Can you turn from the allure of darkness and suffering? Our old habits die hard, we tend to be clinging and too often choose a dark thing to occupy our thoughts and moments over something enlightening. Even in these forums, too often, folks keep feeding darkness and fear and they seem unwilling to give up these dark ways that keep us enslaved and bound by fear. Our collective consciousness requires that we stop these low vibrational excursions that continuously place us in a loop of supporting dark intent and purposes.

We can easily get out of this big pit, but when will you be ready to give up allowing yourself, even asking for, being scared. It is time to stand in your own divinity and light so you can help lead the way for others back into the light of a bright new day! Much love! xoxox

If the beginning of the film says 'this is real footage,' it must be real, right? If you saw it on the internet, then it must be true?

Take a look at the IMDB comments for this film and some others like Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, you will see over time that the comments start out sensationalistic 'threw up and passed out in the theater', then go to 'WTF?', and finally to 'I want my 2 hrs back'.

After 50-60 yrs of using the same model, the movie studios are having to change their marketing strategies. They now hire companies to go out and post these comments all over IMDB and several dozen other places; trailers aren't enough anymore, because people are not watching TV like they used to (and also 'prescreening' the films via p2p and seeing the disconnects between the trailers and the actual film).

Even playing catch-up, they seem to be doing a good job of it. I think the Temple Mount/Dome of the Rock videos are part of this same mechanism, for something the scale of Battle:LA. They can't just sell the film anymore, they have to sell the 'experience'.
