Recent nuclear fusion experiments successful in the US.

If already posted apologies (I did look for a thread on these reports).

US scientists achieve 'turning point' in fusion energy quest (www.abc.net.au/news/2014-02-13/us-scientists-achieve-27turning-point27-in-fusion-energy-quest/5258788)

Scientists in the United States say they have taken an important step on a decades-old quest to harness nuclear fusion to generate nearly inexhaustible energy.

For the first time, two nuclear fusion experiments succeeded in producing more energy than was used to trigger the reaction, the journal Nature reports.

The researchers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, led by physicist Omar Hurricane, described the achievement as important but said much more work is needed before fusion can become a viable energy source.

They noted that they did not produce self-heating nuclear fusion, known as ignition, that would be needed for any fusion power plant.

Researchers have faced daunting scientific and engineering challenges in trying to develop nuclear fusion - the process that powers stars including our sun - for use by humankind.

"Really, for the first time anywhere, we've got more energy out of this fuel than was put into the fuel. And that's quite unique," Mr Hurricane said.

"That's kind of a major turning point, in a lot of our minds.

"I think a lot of people are jazzed."

Still many years from fusion being a practical energy source

Unlike fossil fuels or the fission process in nuclear power plants, fusion offers the prospect of abundant energy without pollution, radioactive waste or greenhouse gases.

Unlike the current nuclear fission energy, that is derived from splitting atoms, fusion energy is produced by fusing atoms together.

Experts believe it will still be many years or decades before fusion can become a practical energy source.

"I wish I could put a date on it," Mr Hurricane said.

"But it really is [just] research. And, you know, although we're doing pretty good, we'd be lying to you if we told you a date."

Of the uncertain path ahead in fusion research, Mr Hurricane compared it to "climbing half way up a mountain, but the top of the mountain is hidden in clouds. You can't see it. You don't have a map".

The research was conducted at the laboratory's National Ignition Facility (NIF), which was completed in 2009.

Lasers zap tiny fuel capsule to fuse atom nuclei

The scientists used 192 laser beams to zap a tiny target containing a capsule, less than 2 millimetres in diameter, filled with fusion fuel consisting of a plasma of deuterium and tritium, which are two isotopes, or forms, of hydrogen.

The fuel was coated on the inside of the capsule in a frozen layer less than the width of a human hair.

At very high temperatures, the nucleus of the deuterium and the nucleus of the tritium fuse, a neutron and something known as an "alpha particle" emerge, and energy is released.

The experiments created conditions up to three times the density of the sun.

The fusion-energy yield was increased about tenfold from past experiments, in a series that started last May.

One of the experiments produced more than half of the so-called Lawson criteria needed to reach ignition, but only about one-one hundredth of the energy needed for ignition.

This one points out some interesting problems with fusion (for example using a 'deuterium/tritium target' requires a fission reactor to produce the deuterium & tritium) and makes a lot of excellent points:

That's all you need to hear...

this has been such a money sink hole, billions spent when we could have LENR (low energy nuclear reactors) aka cold fusion; just another proof of energy suppression IMO, and these dismal, pathetic results are exalted as an "achievement".

*sigh*

ultra high temp fusion like this is just another way to keep energy production in the hands of the mega corps, and out of the hands of the every day citizen; another control structure.

While this type of 'news' is a all 'well and good'... it still empowers the false paradigm of Someone Else 'making the power to sell to you'.

This news is an example of how tptw dribble out their closely held technology to keep the un-awakened masses enthralled with 'developments' that, truly, only further enforces their enslavement.

When energy producing equipment can be had by Everyone, THEN we'll have a TRUE paradigm shift.

But, even before that can happen, humanity, en-mass needs an Awakening, and a turning Away from self-imposed slavery, as per this previous thread:

I eagerly look forward to the Freedom Of Humanity.

In Unity, Peace and Love

Target... your post wasn't up when I went to reply, but I see we're thinking the same thing....

Synchronicity...

I think we all know (well, most of us), that they ALREADY HAVE access to free unlimited energy, via the back engineered alien technology. And that is OLD news. Anything new they come up with, will have a premium price tag, to ensure that our pockets remain forever empty and theirs remain forever bulging. And not only that, they totally don't even come close to the technology that Swiss science has with CERN and their GOD particle. I know that is comparing apples to oranges, but my point is, they feed us decades old science as if it were born yesterday, like they think we were.

Sandia Labs obtained odd results years ago : http://www.livescience.com/614-record-set-hottest-temperature-earth-3-6-billion-degrees-lab.html TargeT is I think right saying fusion is so high grade science that it puts it straight into the hands of corporations, when really there are other sources at reach, and so many patents buried in the sand...

Bob Dobbs has been saying his group has developed a cold fusion battery
and still mentions it most shows, briefly during some discussion or other.
He does say they may have to go stealth when they announce it and
it will probably be released in China or the third world first due to the
dangers of the corporate world in the richer countries, who have to
much to lose giving Free or very cheap energy to their populations.

He got involved with a group in 2009, that were taking Ponds & Fleishmans
work forward. The Pentagon is the biggest threat that sees any form of
development in this field is a potential threat to national security. Whether you
believe Bobs comments in this interview or not, Bob is 92 years old with vast
knowledge on many subjects, so don't dismiss him out of hand.

Bob Neveritt tells Ruby Carat from 'Cold Fusion Now' that he has made a cold fusion battery.

Bob being Bob the conversation does go off at several tangents to bring in the bigger picture.

Is the author of the article, related to David or Charles Koch? Hmmm...sometimes it's right in your face. I tweeted, "you guys play with with the big boom energy with your own money, I do SUN/Wind.

I understand the reasoning for "some 3rd world or Chinese investment, I did the same thing with my self-powered car from the 1980's I designed. I didn't release it freely until 1999 and told them I don't care who does it, just make it so.

Beat them at their own snoopy game. Check out my post on the search to:Silk Road/ as we can beat them at their own game just as secretly and do the good it's intended for. Energy Companies merging for wind energy global contracts take over. I posted how to research the info on the American Wind Energy Association and gave details to the blogs discussing future projects already paid for, as well as meetings in various states in the "events of 2014 box on the page I linked. Wish I had a few stored up, but alas, I chose to raise productive children with awareness of their surroundings, and working the two or 3 jobs to maintain and burned out before it was completed. My hope is one day a lotto win of just a million, to put domestic violence green shelters up for divorced, married abused family, and single parent homes to connect to jobs and train them the green lifestyle, we are to begin to live of independence and sharing what we can. :eyebrows:
WE can buy up majority stocks, and make sure they don't screw wind energy up with playing it on cheap or overseas job labor.
