Basically anything outside of the mainstream madness is to be considered a mental illness. Its catch 22. If they discover you are mentally healthy they diagnose you as insane. Its a mad world.

Nonconformity and Freethinking Now Considered Mental Illnesses (http://theunboundedspirit.com/nonconformity-and-freethinking-now-considered-mental-illnesses/#sthash.VUmuyYsm.dpuf)

Is nonconformity and freethinking a mental illness? According to the newest addition of the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), it certainly is. The manual identifies a new mental illness called “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD. Defined as an “ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior,” symptoms include questioning authority, negativity, defiance, argumentativeness, and being easily annoyed.

The DSM-IV is the manual used by psychiatrists to diagnose mental illnesses and, with each new edition, there are scores of new mental illnesses. Are we becoming sicker? Is it getting harder to be mentally healthy? Authors of the DSM-IV say that it’s because they’re better able to identify these illnesses today. Critics charge that it’s because they have too much time on their hands.

New mental illnesses identified by the DSM-IV include arrogance, narcissism, above-average creativity, cynicism, and antisocial behavior. In the past, these were called “personality traits,” but now they’re diseases.

And there are treatments available.

All of this is a symptom of our over-diagnosing and overmedicating culture. In the last 50 years, the DSM-IV has gone from 130 to 357 mental illnesses. A majority of these illnesses afflict children. Although the manual is an important diagnostic tool for the psychiatric industry, it has also been responsible for social changes. The rise in ADD, bipolar disorder, and depression in children has been largely because of the manual’s identifying certain behaviors as symptoms. A Washington Post article observed that, if Mozart were born today, he would be diagnosed with ADD and “medicated into barren normality.”

Guess those camps have rubber rooms for us, as we pray or focus for good all the time. Just because someone doesn't worship as you do, doesn't mean it's not the same God of whom we have faith, but corporations ONLY GOD is money, and they are really in for RUDE AWAKENING NOW OCCURRING. You will hear of it, and they are crapping their pants, jumping off buildings and bumping their heads trying to figure us out.

When the state finally did my psych eval,
it was totally Asperger's and non-psychotic, lol.
Based on written tests I was functioning higher than they thought.

So their doctor had to spin up a lot of CRAP to make his report stick.
It's very sad to see this happen to non-violent people, though.

I have a very bad temper in certain situations. Kind of a protector instinct.
But most people never see it because most people don't suck!!!

p.s. in the HOSPITALS you are most likely to get the wrong medication and a worse diagnosis than is accurate.
It was in a hospital setting after being financially abused by my spouse that I was given a "bipolar" diagnosis.

What I actually wanted was to make friends, and I was excited about how to be independent again.
What women need is some options for how to take care of their kids when the husband doesn't want a family.
Bipolar cure # 1. IMO

The anonymous woman was promptly escorted to the emergency room of St. Vincent's Charity Medical Center, where she was cared for primarily by Dr. Brar.

After taking blood tests, Dr. Brar determined that the woman had low sodium, potassium and electrolyte levels, due to the fast. The woman, conscious again, recovered from her woozy state. As she recovered, she prayed audibly and read from the Bible.

After observing the woman's fervent behavior, Dr. Brar then allegedly diagnosed the woman with bipolar disorder. The complaint states that the woman was diagnosed with "bipolar disorder with psychotic features."

one of the times I was hospitalized, my TSH (thyroid stim hormone) was lower than they'd ever seen before. .007 or something crazy insane.

Which means that something in my diet was hyperstimulating my thyroid.
it turned out to be Fenugreek :(

be careful with herbs, cleansings, etc. you can really mess yourself up.

Tesla... my admiration and love goes out to you once again for your willingness to be candid, courageous and supporting of others in sharing your experiences here. You're an exceptional young woman who's warmth, depth of character, high intelligence and talents shines for us like the closeness of a favourite family member.

We all need to revere our own unique spirits and dignity of being and when our better intincts rise-up, we must disallow the misguided actions of 'the system' its overriding 'corrections' to our truer nature. The thing is having enough knowledge and trust to surrender to the right things the mental health system does offer us when need be.

Clinical practitioners and mental health workers who have authentic interest in peoples recovery... walk that path with the person when they are in episodes of unwellness in a way that supports growth in self-understanding, self-management and self-soveriegnty. Medications of course can and do help in management and corrections of certain chemical imbalances.... sometimes part of the answer short term /long term or only when needed. The important factor should always be the persons informed consent and experiential knowledge about the part the med's play: what/when/where/how and why.

That kinda sums me up perfectly, especially during my youth.
I guess in "their" eyes that makes me as mad as a hatter, isn't that terrific?
The fact is we are ALL crazy at some points in our lives, and I mean EVERYBODY, and we don't know it.

Hi Tesla.. this is almost similar to what they found in me during tests at allergology some 4 years ago .
I was feeling extremely tired during that summer and it was the only place to run detailed blood tests, check for viruses , allergies , and so forth.

I did not know the doctor but she briefed me on my history for an hour and looked like someone who could be trusted , so I mentioned I had very powerful ET Encounter in 2002 and things gone down since then ..
and if she could find out what the problem is . Of course, she did not know what to say , said 'we're not equipped to deal with this' and why don't you speak to some astrophysicists or ufologists instead .

I thought she's unprof in that response because I was seeking medical advice but she started to say things like ''you know I had my share of truth of in life and want to have peace ..'' .

I asked her straight , are you going to refer me to psychiatrist for saying what I do ?

She answered, 'no reason' .

And went to 'consult' the matter with someone in the other room, full of nurses that time . They drew lots of blood from me on that day ...

and the very parody of the circumstances was that on the same day .. while I was on my way home ,
I stopped in supermarket and bought small pack of 'crab salad' . It ought to be original. I think I just felt to eat something and yeah, she was very hard on me for being vegetarian .

To cut the story short .. I ate two spoons of it and had to go back to town and experienced one of the worst allergy reactions in my life ( to the sea food ) ,
ended up curled on bench of local policlinic till evening, till someones noticed and 90 year ( not kidding ) old GP who was still in the room saved me and called ambulance , sent me to another hospital. The experience there was a nightmare .. I insisted I want to get back home , so they put me on drip for two hours and somehow I got back home .. by city traffic . By miracle ;)

Next time when I came to see the allergologist , she said she found almost nothing except few discrete allergies but almost 0,00 TSH in my blood and that she's never seen anything of that sort and while I don't seem to display any traditional symptoms.

So I was sent to endocrinology , they again.. did all the tests, sonogram , Xray , gave me supplements to take which I faithfully did for a year before I started to feel sick of them ,
they said my thyroid suffered inflammation and is in recovery . I did not tell them where I've been , this time .

TSH levels got back to norm ( against their best judgement ) in 3 years , supplements or not .

I hope you have good luck with your diet , and recovery

Agape, do you think it's possible we have vasculitis?

This disease can affect the internal organs although it usually affects the skin first (depends on your exposure).
There is an auto-immune inflammatory type, which "flares up" (and down) and recently killed a celebrity.
I was not aware that this disease was so cut-and-dry-dangerous.

It's possible that people who have this condition and experience a "flare up" would be misdiagnosed as Herpes/Staph/Neurotic-Auto-Excoriation.

Allergies will present strongly in people who have had a close brush with cancer/radiation.
You say UFO experience? I say, radiation exposure!! :(

Unfortunately our bodies can take only so much stress -- the effort to eradicate cancer cells overclocks the immune system and often results in auto-immune disorders.

The Gulf War veterans tend to have Thyroid imbalance along with symptoms of vasculitis.
This could be caused by any number of things -- aircraft antennas, fuel exposure, anthrax and other vaccines, etc.
People even used to wonder if there were additives in the BMT water.

I am shocked to hear that someone else had this issue on PA! The super-low TSH without normal symptoms.

Have you heard of a writer called Basil King? He had such terrible thyroid disease that it caused blindness (maybe a diabetic attack?),
and after this, King had to leave the priesthood (Canada) and decided to become a writer.
Although he wrote in the early 1900s, his work carried a definite message of "paranormal contact" and "love from beyond".

Maybe Star People do exist?

Tesla, that I can't answer not knowing your specific symptomatology and even then , if you search 'vasculitis' it's clearly symptomatic type of disease with underlying cause has to be specified , in my ( medical ) opinion .

My allergy reaction was of the type - I acutely experienced 2 times in life - after I returned from India in 2005 and I was strict vegetarian that time .. not used to eat any big meals , could not eat warm food, lots of other things together ..
( and I was not aware I have any such allergy to sea food earlier in my life ).

And I will remember it now . But first time it happened when mum pulled out shrimps from freezer , few days after I was back ( after 6 years ) , thinking she'll make us 'something special' . I rolled eyes and tried to protest quietly ..but did not want to offend her , felt like a visitor here , literally .

What followed were hours of acute nausea and forceful vomiting , the poor shrimps literally 'jumped out' from my stomach , if they could return to life they'd probably do that but it did not stop there .
I had empty stomach but it forced me to vomit in 5 or 10 minute intervals, for hours. Till 2 AM , and we had medicine at home .. but it took mum time to reconcile with the fact that I did not accept her shrimps and figure out it's allergy reaction.

I forgot about it . Won't try any more :)

I have very bad allergy reaction to some insect bites here , happened couple of times .. from simple mosquito bite to half arm or leg swollen and having to take antibiotic at the end ,
strangely, whenever I am in India , I get so many mosquito bites and it does not do me anything .

Had no allergy to pollens or animals as a kid but after the ET Encounter ( I'm not sure you've actually read my files here but it was big event .. ) I start sneezing to whatever I touch .

Fortunately , no rash , no skin lesions.. in our family , grandma has had psoriasis - probably still does - and though there's no medical proof of it being contagious I'd get a spot or two each time we spent longer in their house as a child. Not since , but I'm very cautious about washing things. Clean freak ..I guess .

I think it's very possible that there was radiation exposure in Bodhgaya that affected the thyroid ,
and some of the white cell metabolism that caused me some prolonged sore throat among else, chronic fatigue in the following years .

But whenever I had blood tests done , all was in norm according to them, except for some low protein and mineral levels , at times . Curiously , the lymphocyte count was at the upper limit ( for humans ;) ) but I asked doctor and she said 'it's ok, it's still in norm' .

Generally, as you say .. any prolonged exposure to chemicals and all forms of radiation lowers immunity to some degree ,
that's why there's such an increase of cancers , allergies , rashes , auto-immune disorders, they're blaming peoples diets but neglect the fact that people living in these polluted cities, exposed to smog , dust, eating chemically processed food daily, 'bathing' in this soup of EM pollution , day by day so how can we develop 'healthy immunity ' .

I'm this type of person...whatever went wrong with me earlier in life.. it was for short time and I was always able to recover by my own means, whether conventional or alternative medicine is involved .. it's always upon your body to find a way to recovery , if possible .
