Thanks to this forum, I have been able to see the following -

How ironic that my father (who has been dead since 1979) is far more alive than my mother (who is apparently still breathing).

Who is alive and who is dead?

Haha...

Good opportunity to highlight... Compassion isn't always what we think it to be, but it is a way to truth, something that pulls us back to what is real. In moments of relaxed serenity the biggest thing I notice in other is the constant tension of anxiety they hide, that "lives of quiet desperation" that Thoreau talked about... And there seems no way to get them to just be themselves, even for one moment. So frustrating, and sad. People living in fear of the truth of who they are... what kind of existence is that?

Yes, we are born into death and die up to life.
