"Food addictions exposed: why the food supply is designed to keep you addicted." by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAZaby1ZmxU50mfBPnZY0nQ).
Big business reaps bigger bottom lines,
while we pound pavement
to stave off bigger bottoms. (or not)
Over processing the foods strips out the vitamins and minerals. Our bodies have craving because they are nutritionally deficient. So the body system over eats to find the missing nutrients.

The Health Ranger explains why food addictions are engineered into the food supply by food manufacturers. This explains why many food consumers are so strongly addicted to the very foods that are making them sick and diseased.

So true. My realisation that the world wasn't quite what it appeared started with the petro chemical industry followed by religion, education and the health industry. This radio article on food shows exactly how the food industry is also absolutely corrupted and the part it plays in supported the rest of our corrupted society.
This is a must hear article for everyone.

Thanks RunningDeer, for sharing this important information on toxic processed foods.
A good substitute to reduce addiction to processed white sugar is Stevia, as used by the Guaraní peoples of Paraguay.

Plants are just 1 feet high. A couple of plants would go a long way, may even last up to a year. This is what Wikipedia has to say about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevia
Nice article, though I’m not happy with the statement “Planting cloned stevia is a more effective method of reproduction.[citation needed] ”, cause it is an unsubstantiated claim. I am told by a local farmer that the best way to plant & use it is as the natives did, all natural, seeds from the same plant, you can watch some videos in Youtube. But don’t try to go buy this kind in Monsanto, they don’t sell them.

If you're interested in population reduction why would you want people to be healthy and live longer. The government wants to keep food cheap, they are not interested in healthy eating, despite their rehtoric. If you look at the ketogenic diet it is pretty much opposite to what our governments say who push low fat diets. All the food companies did was substitute processed sugar, which is toxic to the body, for more dangerous artificial sweeteners

Dropping junk food, or convenient fast food, or time saving packaged food is not easy.
We get busy, and hungry, and then want something quick.
Eating healthy whole foods takes more effort and time.
Reading books about food and nutrition help me keep motivated to do the work and eat better.
This book, SALT SUGAR FAT, was fantastic in the way it showed me how manufactured, packaged, or fast food is basically a composition of chemicals, salt, sugar and fat designed to create an addiction via "mouth feel" or "bliss points"
The scientists and top managers who work in this industry won't eat the "food" and some have tried to turn this massive ship of profit around in order to prevent obesity and illness, but it's too hard to do. The products are so addictive that there is a demand, and corporations are built to make a profit not to feed a population the nutritious food they need.

Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us
Written by: Michael Moss
Narrated by: Scott Brick
Length: 14 hrs and 34 mins
Format: Unabridged
Publisher's Summary
From a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter at The New York Times comes the explosive story of the rise of the processed food industry and its link to the emerging obesity epidemic. Michael Moss reveals how companies use salt, sugar, and fat to addict us and, more important, how we can fight back.
Every year, the average American eats 33 pounds of cheese (triple what we ate in 1970) and 70 pounds of sugar (about 22 teaspoons a day). We ingest 8,500 milligrams of salt a day, double the recommended amount, and almost none of that comes from the shakers on our table. It comes from processed food.
It’s no wonder, then, that one in three adults, and one in five kids, is clinically obese. It’s no wonder that 26 million Americans have diabetes, the processed food industry in the U.S. accounts for $1 trillion a year in sales, and the total economic cost of this health crisis is approaching $300 billion a year.
In Salt Sugar Fat, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Michael Moss shows how we got here. Featuring examples from some of the most recognizable (and profitable) companies and brands of the last half century - including Kraft, Coca-Cola, Lunchables, Kellogg, Nestlé, Oreos, Cargill, Capri Sun, and many more - Moss’s explosive, empowering narrative is grounded in meticulous, often eye-opening research.
Moss takes us inside the labs where food scientists use cutting-edge technology to calculate the "bliss point" of sugary beverages or enhance the "mouthfeel" of fat by manipulating its chemical structure.
He unearths marketing campaigns designed - in a technique adapted from tobacco companies - to redirect concerns about the health risks of their products: Dial back on one ingredient, pump up the other two, and tout the new line as "fat-free" or "low-salt". He talks to concerned executives who confess that they could never produce truly healthy alternatives to their products even if serious regulation became a reality.
Simply put: The industry itself would cease to exist without salt, sugar, and fat. Just as millions of "heavy users" - as the companies refer to their most ardent customers - are addicted to this seductive trio, so too are the companies that peddle them. You will never look at a nutrition label the same way again.

Few know of the huge industry that exists only to add back texture, taste, and (synthetic) nutrients to processed foods. Quality food is destroyed and re-created as something totally different, and totally inadequate. They intentionally remove the phytonutrients from foods. Phytonutrients are the living essence of the food, the spark of life given to the foods by Mother Nature. Various phytonutrients, or lack thereof, direct the expression or non-expression of our genes. A huge hole in the idea that genes are set in stone. Just because we have a particular genetic marker does not mean it must be expressed, causing dis-ease.
Mike Adams should run the FDA! haha, I'll hold my breath for that.

Thank you, HaulinBananas. Sugar, fat, and salt, those are the biggies. I use Himalayan Salt which can help mineralize and detoxify the body. At the bottom, I’ve added some of my notes on the benefits and comparison of Himalayan Salt vs. table salt. I'd add here that it “contains 84 minerals, electrolytes and elements - a staggering number considering that only 118 elements are known to science.”
These are some of my ideas to keep fruits and vegetables fresh, save money, and cuts down on shopping time. And some other things I do to prevent me from mainlining @ the “McD’s drive by”.
Pre-wash ahead what I can. (see below for how I use MMS and spray bottle) I store salad ingredients and such in a large covered container, each vegetable has it’s separate microfiber salad bag. So when it’s time, I pull out the container and it's all in one place.

My Go to Staples and Suggestions:
Shop the outer isles.
Boxed foods are mostly dead foods and empty calories.
Most of my shopping time is spent at the fruits and vegetables sections.
I bring my own shopping basket and bag(s), that way I don't impulse buy.
I do not purchase salads in a bag because they pump them with ‘gas’ to ensure freshness.
I make my own juices with masticating juicer, which keeps the good stuff including the enzymes.
Kate’s butter where the cream comes from farms that do not treat their cows with artificial growth hormones
Local eggs where hens are fed with no animal by-products, preservative, no artificial hormones or antibiotics.
Hard-boil up a dozen eggs ahead.
Amazing Grass Green Superfood (green drink)
Ezekiel Bread that’s flourless, and sprouted from 100% whole grains. The grains are organic and certified. Keep it in the freezer and take out what’s needed.
Organic: flax and chia seeds, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, walnuts
When I’m with friends and family, I devour garbage foods. Then deal with the hives to hangovers for a couple of days.
"Pre-wash My Vegetables"
I use MMS to pre-wash my vegetables for about five minutes and then soak them in water. Every three days, I use 3 drops of MMS, plus filtered water in a large spray bottle. The old batch is used to spray down sinks, butcher block and counter tops.

10 Amazing Benefits of Pink (Himalayan) Salt (http://fitlife.tv/10-amazing-benefits-of-pink-himalayan-salt/)
Why Pink?
The many hues of pink, red and white are an indication of this salt’s rich and varying mineral and energy-rich iron content.
Benefits
In the same manner that vitamins and minerals are perfectly packaged in fruits and vegetables, because this salt was formed naturally the minerals within the sodium work in synergy.
(Synergy is the interaction of multiple elements in a system to produce an effect different from or greater than the sum of their individual effects.)
Iodine- Natural salts are rich in iodine, so it doesn’t need to be artificially added in.
Packs a hearty 80+ minerals and elements - Himalayan salts are mineral packed crystals which formed naturally within the earth made up of 85.62% sodium chloride and 14.38% other trace minerals including: sulphate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate, bromide, borate, strontium, and fluoride (in descending order of quantity).
Because of these minerals Himalayan pink salt can:
Create an electrolyte balance
Increases hydration
Regulate water content both inside and outside of cells
Balance pH (alkaline/acidity) and help to reduce acid reflux
Prevent muscle cramping
Aid in proper metabolism functioning
Strengthen bones
Lower blood pressure
Help the intestines absorb nutrients
Prevent goiters
Improve circulation
Dissolve and eliminate sediment to remove toxins
It is even said to support libido, reduce the signs of aging, and detoxify the body from heavy metals.
Pink Salt vs. Sea Salt
Even though pink salts come from the mountains, they are technically sea salts as well. All salt comes from a salted body of water—namely, an ocean or salt-water lake. However, Himalayan salt is said to be the purest form of sea salt.
Why Table Salt is Inferior
Commercial refined salt is not only stripped of all its minerals, besides sodium and chloride, but is also chemically cleaned, bleached and heated at unnecessary high temperatures.
In addition, it is treated with anti-caking agents which prevent salt from mixing with water in the salt container. These agents also prevent dissolving within our system leading to build up and then deposit in organs and tissue, causing severe health problems.
Finally, the iodine that is added into salt is usually synthetic which is difficult for your body to process properly. Shockingly under U.S. law, up to 2% of table salt can be additives.

Excuse my not having a link for this, but in my journey to replace foods and looking for a salt with minerals I found reason to believe that what is not being told about Himalayan Salt is it's very unhealthy radioactive content, and that the best mineral rich salt is Celtic Sea Salt, and I think Dead Sea Salt which is harder to get.

Here is a site where you have a voice in whats being placed in our food . Where we can petition companies to remove the countless toxins in our food, by forcing them to reveal the harmful additives and have them removed through petitions.
This lady is on a roll and we all need to get on the band wagon, and for once and all expose, and change the practice corporations use to disguise harmful addictive additives in our food to increase sales.
The hell with congress who enable the corrupt lobbyists to allow this to go on. Take action and sign these petitions, we have the power, and we do get immediate results without the bureaucracy.

What's in Your Beer? Fish Bladder and Antifreeze Ingredient?
Food blogger Vani Hari's husband's favorite drink is beer and, just in time for his birthday this week, she is launching an online petition to ask the two biggest producers of American beer to list all their ingredients and brewing methods.
Hari claims some beers contain additives like high-fructose corn syrup, stabilizers and artificial flavoring, which have been linked to obesity, allergies, hyperactivity and gastrointestinal problems. She also alleges that big brewers use unappetizing things like propylene glycol – a foaming ingredient found in airplane deicing liquid – and even use fish swim bladders during brewing for clarity.
"That was alarming to me," Hari, 35, of North Carolina, told ABC News. "I thought beer was just hops, water, yeast, malt and barley."
The fact is no one but the manufacturer – not even Hari – knows for sure what's in beer or what’s used to make it, because the federal government does not require companies to disclose their ingredients or brewing processes. Hari is on a mission to get more transparency in the beer industry.
Her point is that consumers just don't know how their food and drink is made or what they put into their bodies.
"I just want full disclosure," she said, "not to change labels and go through government labels -- just to disclose it online so everyone can see."
Now, she has targeted Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors, which are the two largest beer brewers in the United States, according to Millward Brown Optimor, a leading global research agency.
