View Full Version : Intentional misinformation about Antarctic sea ice levels

If you read the mainstream press, such as this article today, you would think that the Antarctic ice is melting. Yet the truth is the Antarctic ice is setting new record high levels!!!

There are few more graphic examples of the climate deceit than this one. Yes, there is an area showing melting, apparently due to volcanic activity under the ice, but this is more than offset by the general ice level. Also, if you look at the history of ice levels in the Arctic and Antarctic, it is not unusual for them to be trending in opposite directions.

Yep!

Shameless 1984 "news-speak":

Antarctic sea ice reaches record high because of global warming, scientists claim (http://iceagenow.info/2014/07/antarctic-sea-ice-reaches-record-high-global-warming-scientists-claim/)

“Global warming is creating MORE ice.”

“You really COULDN’T make this up!!” says reader Laurel. “But they did :-)”

Earlier this year, global warming was blamed for the ‘irreversible retreat’ of west Antarctic glaciers. But now scientists claim that warming of the planet is in fact behind a paradoxical growth in South Pole sea ice.

That claim was made by Mark Serreze, director of the National Snow and Ice Data Centre, when speaking to Harold Ambler at Talking About the Weather.

The shift is supposedly caused by water melting from beneath the Antarctic ice shelves, which is then somehow, magically, re-frozen back at the surface, increasing the amount of sea ice.

Incredibly, this latest bit of propaganda comes out just as Antarctica’s sea ice set a new record high (http://iceagenow.info/2014/07/antarctic-sea-ice-hits-all-time-record-a-week/), reaching 815,448 square miles (1,312,000 sq km) of ice above its normal range.

That is a HUGE amount of ice!

How many states would be covered if that 815,239 square miles of ice were on land?

Would you believe the entire eastern one-third of the United States?

That amount of ice would cover all of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennesee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and just for good measure, toss in 132 Washington, D.C.s.

And that’s not even TOTAL ice. That’s just the amount of ice that’s above normal.
They’re trying to tell us that global warming has created enough new ice to cover the eastern one-third of the United States?

How stupid do they think we are?

Thanks to Laurel for this link

“I’m running outta words to describe just How pathetic and how twisted the entire warmist scam is,” says Laurel. “This is cognitive dissonance to the Nth degree!!!!!!!!!”

Actually, Antarctic sea ice just hit its second all time record in a week (http://iceagenow.info/2014/07/antarctic-sea-ice-hits-all-time-record-a-week/). The new record is 2.112 million square kilometers above normal, which is far more than the figures above show.

Seems like our Governments have been lying, how unusual. I also saw evidence that NASA had cooked the books and published charts with elevated temperatures. In fact some people are saying we are more likely to enter a mini ice age.

I must admit the shear arrogance of our lying governments never ceases to amaze me, thank god for the internet where they're getting caught out everyday of the week with their pants down, in more ways than one!! Nobody will do a thing about it. Whenever our Government says anything I always think the opposite, you're more likely to get to the truth
