View Full Version : Retirement?

I noticed today that a member who (along with others) inspired such an incredible (positive) difference to come forth for me... that this member had "retired."

why?

what does that say? Is so doing a statement?

what about those who come after? what about the hands that may have reached out?

what about giving back what you got (and perhaps more)?

For me, time away or retirement is because I’m out of balance with way, way too much computer time. Or personal thoughts and feelings need quality time to process out, otherwise, projections spill out and quality vibes go a-quirky. I don’t want to pass on ‘the ickies’. It’s important for me to recognize when it’s 'the me' that needs to be on top of that nurture list.

And...there are times when I just get sick and tired of hearing me.

what about the hands that may have reached out?

There’s a fine line between offering assistance and the belief that what I have to say is more important than the other working it through the way only they can.

Too, I find those that have reached out through PM’s needed a nonjudgmental, private ear, or a confirmation. But it all takes place in that one-on-one exchange for that moment or topic.

what about giving back what you got (and perhaps more)?

I prefer the word ‘exchange’ rather than ‘giving back’. The interchange happens with each post one reads, writes, or replies too. Net balance is here and now. And sometimes, less is more.

Does anyone really retire?

One could retire some shoes.

I think I am going to go retire some shoes.

I reserve the right to take them out of retirement for no reason at all.

justone:

I thought about it recently. Sometimes you feel backed into a corner. Couple of good people talked me out of it.

Which isn't to say I still don't disagree with some pretty f*cked up ideas I see on here repeatedly. It just means I have to work harder to get people to see how irrational thinking will get them into a bigger pile of poop.

Sometimes the best remedy is just.....laugh. :)

No need to go looking for it. It will find you.

'Retired' literally means "tired of being tired".

Actually, more accurately it would mean - to be tired again.

What is the word for being tired of talking about being tired again called? ;)
