I think I remember them saying the number of dimensions is infinite ... ET's say the Universes are contained in a sphere they call the Absolutum , and there are many Absolutums contained in the Absolute-Absolutum ... The recent film INTERSTELLAR had as its " technical help" Dr. Kip Thorne. If you Google his name you will find revealing discussions of "Parallel Universes" and the actual construction possibilities of craft that might be able to interface between those Universes. He has some interesting things to say and there is quite a bit of math out there for those who require that to see things more clearly.

I agree with the premise of the movie that Love and Gravity are equally mysterious but both can link parallel universes...........
