Has anyone else seen the film left behind with Nicolas cage?
Apart from it being a weird film, Nicolas doesn't seem quite 'himself' in it. I was getting a really weird vibe from him the whole way through and at times he didnt even look like himself, has anyone else seen it and have any views?? Xx

The only 'Left Behind' movie i have ever seen is the religious movie version of Revelations.

I have not seen that movie yet, inspecting it on imdb revealed ... Ratings: 3.1 (not good)

A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction.

The plot sounds like a movie I have seen years ago. Thought the title was "The Lucifer Project" or something similar.
Can't find a movie with that title though, perhaps somebody else remembers it ... it ends with Saturn on the horizon
if I remember correctly.

According to the same IMDB listing (and an IMDB listing for the one you mention) the Nicolas Cage version appears to be a major motion picture edition of the same story (blessedly) without Kirk Cameron's (IMO) atrocious acting.

Thanks for the mention, I'll check it out!

Maybe you mean this (http://www.amazon.com/Quiet-Earth-Bruno-Lawrence/dp/B000EZ908Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417418474&sr=8-1&keywords=the+quiet+earth) one?

That's a classic. [current imdb rating: 6.9]
Different plot, avalon-compatible, less actors [just 3].

I heard the original guy didn't want any parts of the movie. But then, that guy was kind of hammy and egotistical even when he was on sitcoms. Anyway haven't seen it yet, but that's what I've gotten about the review of the movie thus far. Makes me want to watch it as I didn't enjoy the original ones. Actors non believeable and I don't know, how do you say it? High School playish or either middle school. LOL. I plan on checking it out though.

Yes, I checked some stills and video fragments ... that's the one. Thanks. But I stil don't recall that title ...
I remember watching the movie because I was researching something like 'The Lucifer project' which was
an attempt to ignite one of the bigger planets as a 2nd sun ... (Can't find that relation now).

Anyway, that movie sounds similar but has an imdb rating of 6.9

I've always had a feeling that a 2nd sun may have biblical meaning too. Instead of the 2nd coming of
the son the coming of a 2nd sun is meant. And, yes then 'Not one stone here will be left on another'
like Jesus supposedly said. :p

Which is also the plot of Arthur C Clarke's 2010 book and subsequent film. (published 1982) (film released 1984)

(Jupiter collapsing into being a sun)
