View Full Version : Are You Afraid To Live?

Inspired by Illuminate's thread here http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?8118-Are-you-afraid-to-die

i wonder...

are you afraid to rise up and scream out your freedom?

Do you fear retaliation from your peers if you decide to behave outside the norm?

Do you stop to smell the roses?

Do you live?

Can you just, be?

Do the fears they work so hard at creating, stop you from feeling the billions of hearts that beat with yours?

Come out of the dark, and feel the light..

Living has NOTHING to do with dying..

Forgive the repetition, but i think it is worth it

How long have we been in service?

a Lifetime? a Century? Millennia? Eon's....

I don't know..do you?

The word "slave" is heard a lot these days, in reference to our common plight as humans.

Slave to the corporation...slave to the PTB's...slaves to our own egos.

Submitting to all they ask.

The way we shop. The way we educate ourselves, our children.

We submit all our money, our time and our beings... to ...what?

An ideal kept secret from us?

A project that does not include all of us?

Well..enough...

I, celine, surrender.

We are done submitting ...We are rising to surrender to who we truly are.

Creators.

The voices that have spurred us to rise from our knees to our feet have been loud and consistent...

Naysayers have tried to discredit them...

They were unsuccessful

Thank you for your strength and guidance..You never failed to believe in us.

Together we awake. Together we rise. Together we change.

Be well and remember..You are LOVE.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift.

The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every word out of the bird's' mouth was rude, obnoxious and

laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's

attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft

music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the

bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot

yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier

and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hands;

grabbed the bird; and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes,

the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then suddenly, there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for

over a minute.

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door

to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's

outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you

with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for

my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything

I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic

change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly,

"May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

are you afraid to rise up and scream out your freedom?
A lot of folks wouldn't even know what I meant by that, they are so confuse with their own issues.
And which freedoms are we talking about spiritual or govern-mental?

As for government they don't really know what i'm up to, so yes I am free and I can say that,
But i don't need to shout, I say it with a whisper,
Why you ask, cuz when folks whisper, other folks make an effort to try to listen so, yes I am heard. (And don't consider one a nut.)
So why scream it when you can have folks go to you and listen with at least a semi open heart. (GET there attention first)
In other words I do my part and do it my way. (Freedom)

It's just the way i live my life. And it works.

I heard a saying once, that I quite agree with - those who fear death, fear life.

How so??? what do you mean?

Partly biological and partly philosophical.

It's a big can of worms to get into but I have great difficulty dealing with full aliveness personally, and I think society, in general has difficulty with it culturally.

Back in the late 80s I was present at a get-together of many of the then top healers who were challenged by the idea that if their 'healing' still allowed for their clients to die later at some culturally acceptable 'age', was it really healing at all? A lot of cereberal knowledge-based approaches to their specialities were savaged and shredded by the hosts of this event.

As a bit of an outsider who went there for all the wrong reasons I sort-of got 'it' but I couldn't see why they also wrapped it all up with what I'd call raw 'prosperity conciousness' and carried on like a mad cult who seemed to ecpect people who joined up with them to cut out their connection with the other 'death orientated' world.

I think I got a lot out of it because it was the first time I'd really seen a clear distinction between being a seeker of truth and in being alive.

They seem to be still going. I did a search and found this:

http://www.people-unlimited-inc.com/

They might be worth a visit for an interview but I'd advise anyone going there to go with a few good friends.

Cut to the chase here - if we have all these "Are you afraid of ....." questions, you may as well get the whole meta question

Are you afraid of anything?

This is the clincher, because if you are able to say no, or very close to being able to say no, then - and only then - will you be able to truly experience life in freedom.

Life and Death = both good

Fear = obstruction to a good experience of either.

Living is even MORE dangerous than dying so you'd better be careful!!

A good friend of mine and myself have agreed that what we secretly fear the most is NOTHING happening at all... and that our angst filled search for truth is merely avoidance of living a mundane and disappointing life. This isn't where my knowingness sits right now... but the chair is certainly in the back corner of the room.

Another friend once said that it's better to be centered than to know. Can you have your cake and eat it too? Methinks possibly I cannot... consistently. That compulsion to know more is an awful winding road.

Maybe this is relevant Celine...

The Invitation by Oriah
It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.

It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Thank you for this Kula..that is exactly what i meant...passion for living..conviction to be true to yourself..

That passion reminded me of my favorite canadian slam poet Shane Koyczan ..

Hey Avaloneans, I do wish you all so much love today....I don't know how you sail on the ocean of your lives,
but I bet you are making waves, hmmmm? :) Amidst the goodbyes of my pasts that restrict me in expressing
my true Self and Soul purpose, old patterns and ties begin to become frail, waiting to dissolve in forgiveness.
There is a tearing at my heart and tears to soften and melt the frozen parts of my soul, it's all in the name of love.
To leave the old and invite the new :) Like lady Gaia is living and breathing now, in firey moods soon.
Never before I've received so much support in this, from the invisible world and some of you :)

I am here, on this beautiful planet, to live and share with an open heart,
some of you have noticed this and I've been so much supported by you, thanks very much :)
I honor your presence here in this lovely Forum and wish you strong sails and ropes, companionship too,
during the journey on the ocean of your life. A drink of rum keeps the spirits high and the parrot is a king's jester, ha ha....

There's no end to love and the ways she shows her face :)
Trust love and surrender to your true self, there's so much beauty and quietude, waiting to be welcomed in your heart.
That is why I am not afraid to live and this is why I enjoy life :) Dutchess Tint.

LOL - Then best meta is meta-physical.

Your idea to distill Avalon into three threads is funny - it reminds me of George Carlin de-fragmenting (removing redundancy) in the ten commandments.
