Hi Jack,

[...]
Any words.. just wouldnt be enough.

Beethoven had a real feel for the pulse of things. I can't think of one bad work by Ludwig. The Moonlight Sonata being my own favorite (with Fur Elise close behind). Simply cerebral!

If one were to storm the Bastille more commonly known as MTV headquarters; break into the programming room; pry Lady Gaga's mouth off the phallic microphone; and insert Beethoven's Number Nine into the playing machine ... you might just have yourself a revolution worth supporting. MHO, OC.

Weird, I was listening to Beethoven last night. Quite a coincidence ;)

Impressive stuff!

This one qualifies for two threads, the other being 'When story told a music.'

Two of my favourites. Nowadays people are expressing madness through music, because lets face it, virtually the entire population of humanity is suffering from one degree or another =) Ludwig told the story of emotions and feelings, I think its something that everyone can relate to once they get out of their head and back down into the body. lol it looks like lady gagas mouth will be well and truly welded to that microphone for.. how long did britney last?

Didn't seem to find any Bach around here, even though some find him too "mathematical" I think he's worth a bit of attention.

Clint Mansell is, for me, a modern-day genius.
Careful though, some might not like the third drum & bass track, probably too aggressive for many, but the story behind the film is really worth hanging around for :)

(The film is "Pi" if anyone is interested, and the second track is from "Requiem for a Dream" a film that should be shown to anyone who has a drug problem of any kind. It's an instant remedy, perfectly representing the downward spiral into chaos any type of drug can induce)

Fur Elise - Played by ; Ivo Pogorelich.

Probably the nicest ive heard this played. The audio gets a little bit screwed up in parts, but then again it is pretty old.

I don't think its fair to to put a "when" on front of music, as it all tells stories.
We can debate the quality of some over others, though ;)

It's like when people complain about rap music and talk about the "good ol' days" of classic rock.
Then you point out to them that there were bands like ABBA and Tom Jones along side Led Zep or Floyd and they go quiet for a split second... hehe

The bells toll,
I hear the sound of the skies above, of heavens opening,
Closing my eyes, it is dark, it is night,
endless sky and beauty above,
ever shifting and moving in an eternal dance..
I journey with you to the heart of night,
reach out take your hand, together we fly, Free,
carried on the breeze,
up, up lifted in the stars, from where we began
where our blood and bones were formed,
an eternal spark of beauty born from the One, the Source,
the place of peace and love,
that resides forever within your heart and mine,
We return to the flame, reunited with
The Eternal One...

Cate
