A lot of wonderful and weird science-fiction from that periode.
There is a spesific flavour of the time. New and great ideas,
but still somewhat limited visual effects-techniques.

Storyline
When Adams and his crew are sent to investigate the silence from a planet inhabited by scientists, he finds all but two have died.
Dr. Morbius and his daughter Altaira have somehow survived a hideous monster which roams the planet.
Unknown to Adams, Morbius has made a discovery, and has no intention of sharing it (or his daughter!) with anyone.

A note of cineastic interest:
Leslie Nielsen has one of the leading roles, as Commander J.J Adams,
in the early days as an actor, before he found his true self as a comedian.
He was born 11. february 1926,Saskatchewan,Canada. He died 28. november 2010.
