I like the way Putin talks. He dont make much media antics like the Donald and company. But shows that they mean business. Few words clear message vs media hype excessive lies.

"Amid the US-South Korean Ulchi Freedom Guardian (UFG) joint military drills in South Korea, Russia's strategic aircraft performed routine flights in the area. In doing so, Russia "simply and concisely showed its interests and capabilities" near the Korean Peninsula, according to Russian political commentator Alexander Khrolenko."

"Moscow can’t ignore America’s threats to deal with yet another unwanted regime close to Vladivostok, the main naval base of Russia's Pacific Fleet (only 120 kilometers away from North Korea). One way or another, Russia has to react to a threat of unleashing of a large-scale military conflict in close vicinity to the territory of its Primorsky region, which is home to two million people," Alexander Khrolenko finally stated"

If the reports are to be believed, and I see no reason why not, the Russians have been quietly getting 'on' with things.

Remember the Donald Cook:

From Jim Stone

On 10 April 2014, the USS Donald Cook entered the waters of the Black Sea and on 12 April a Russian Su-24 tactical bomber flew over the vessel triggering an incident that, according to several media reports, completely demoralized its crew, so much so that the Pentagon issued a protest.
The USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) is a 4th generation guided missile destroyer whose key weapons are Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of up to 2, 500 kilometers, and capable of carrying nuclear explosives. This ship carries 56 Tomahawk missiles in standard mode, and 96 missiles in attack mode.

The US destroyer is equipped with the most recent Aegis Combat System. It is an integrated naval weapons systems which can link together the missile defense systems of all vessels embedded within the same network, so as to ensure the detection, tracking and destruction of hundreds of targets at the same time. In addition, the USS Donald Cook is equipped with 4 large radars, whose power is comparable to that of several stations. For protection, it carries more than fifty anti-aircraft missiles of various types.

Meanwhile, the Russian Su-24 that buzzed the USS Donald Cook carried neither bombs nor missiles but only a basket mounted under the fuselage, which, according to the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta [2], contained a Russian electronic warfare device called Khibiny.

As the Russian jet approached the US vessel, the electronic device disabled all radars, control circuits, systems, information transmission, etc. on board the US destroyer. In other words, the all-powerful Aegis system, now hooked up - or about to be - with the defense systems installed on NATO’s most modern ships was shut down, as turning off the TV set with the remote control.

The Russian Su-24 then simulated a missile attack against the USS Donald Cook, which was left literally deaf and blind. As if carrying out a training exercise, the Russian aircraft - unarmed - repeated the same maneuver 12 times before flying away.

After that, the 4th generation destroyer immediately set sail towards a port in Romania.

Since that incident, which the Atlanticist media have carefully covered up despite the widespread reactions sparked among defense industry experts, no US ship has ever approached Russian territorial waters again.

According to some specialized media, 27 sailors from the USS Donald Cook requested to be relieved from active service.

Vladimir Balybine - director of the research center on electronic warfare and the evaluation of so-called "visibility reduction" techniques attached to the Russian Air Force Academy - made the following comment:

"The more a radio-electronic system is complex, the easier it is to disable it through the use of electronic warfare."

Then the USS Fitzgereld & lately USS John McCain:

Last time it was the U.S.S. Fitzgerald. This time it was the U.S.S. John S. McCain. The Navy does not know how much the damage is yet, here's the report, from Navy.mil
Story Number: NNS170820-01Release Date: 8/20/2017 7:38:00 PM

From U.S. 7th Fleet Public Affairs

SOUTH CHINA SEA (NNS) -- UPDATE POSTED AUG. 20, 8:37 P.M. (EDT)

The guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Alnic MC while underway east of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore on Aug. 21.

The collision was reported at 6:24 a.m. Japan Standard Time, while the ship was transiting to a routine port visit in Singapore.

The ship is currently sailing under its own power and heading to port.

Search and rescue efforts are underway in coordination with local authorities. In addition to tug boats out of Singapore, the Republic of Singapore Navy ship RSS Gallant (97), RSN helicopters and Police Coast Guard vessel Basking Shark (55) are currently in the area to render assistance.

MV-22s and SH-60s from USS America are also responding.

Initial reports indicate John S. McCain sustained damage to her port side aft. The extent of damage and personnel injuries is being determined. The incident will be investigated.

More information to follow.

My comment: If the ships do not have a naval version of Stuxnet, Russia must be playing around with the GPS signals. Final answer.

Interesting. Very Interesting. Allegedly the US fleet has stayed well away from Russian territorial waters since the above has taken place.

Speculation is that the Chinese disabled both the Fitzgerald and McCain. The McCain's steering went down 3 minutes before the ramming. The Russians disabled the Cook. And Israel disabled a Russian S-400 antiaircraft missile system in Syria. So it appears that each side knows how to do that. How wonderful. Joseph Farrell speculated that the Chinese and Russians know how to take out one system and not other electronic systems on a US Navy ship. That is very sophisticated technology.
Also, it should be noted that the Cook, after the Black Sea incident, was transferred to the Baltic Sea. Whereupon the Russians repeated the take down of the Cook yet again! Only this time it was in the Baltic!
Things are sure getting interesting on the high seas with the Chinese showing the most aggression.

I wonder if we can declare China as the most aggressive when its the US bringing their armada near China.

Military secrets are the most fleeting of all.

The Great Powers do this to each other's picket ships to try and get the rival power to "tip its hand", as it were.

Bubu, you are correct. The US is, by far and for a long time, the major aggressor on the planet. We bring bombs, destruction of families and countries, abject poverty and crushing debt. The Chinese bring economic deals, infrastructure expansion, an opening of markets, etc. The USA is setting a new benchmark for shooting a country in the foot.
