Baltic Sea anomaly --- metallic?
The circle is at least 14,000 years old

(computer generated image)

The circle in the Baltic Sea continues to perplex.

New test results from Israel shows that a part of the circle is metallic - and researchers there think it is a metal that nature itself can not manufacture.

Swedish researchers say the opposite.

- It can be created in nature, but it has different conditions in different waters, says geologist Fredrik Klingberg.

In June 2011, the divers Dennis Åsberg and Peter Lindberg, a mysterious discovery on the Baltic seabed. Ocean X team found a circle with a diameter of 60 meters almost 90 meters into the sea. Previous test results from Tel Aviv has shown that there have been burnt organic material on the circle.

Now, the new test results from another part of the circle. Result from Israel shows that the bit is metallic and contains limonite and goethite.

Professor Dr. Steve Weiner of Israel says to the divers that there is a metal that not nature can produce itself.

- I do not know what to believe anymore. The response from Tel Aviv, the object that we found a metal that is designed, makes you get goose bumps, says diver Dennis Åsberg.

"It is not at all surprising"

Swedish scientists have a different view.

- Limonite and goethite close to hand with the BOG-IRON ORE. For me, this could be nodules, they are in many seabeds, says Fredrik Klingberg, a geologist at the Geological Survey of Sweden.

Martin Jakobsson, marine geologist at Stockholm University:

- It is not at all surprising that you found those subjects, nature can produce it itself, he says

The divers also found the stones of granite lying on top of the object and received information that indicates that the object has been there for 14 000 years.

- Then it could be done by people in the past. Before the Ice Age low was a lake where the Baltic is now and the subject is on the coastal strip, said Dennis Åsberg.

Martin Jakobsson think this sounds reasonable.

- I have said it before and are still clinging to it - it seems to be a geological objects that had lain there for long.

Ambiguities about the mysterious circle makes scientists skeptical.

- I am very skeptical about the whole thing, so difficult, it should not be that hard to find out what it really is. One can make such documentation at that depth, says Johan Rönnby, professor of maritime archeology at Södertörn University.

Would love to receive help

Dennis Åsberg agree that it is mysterious - but says he's happy to receive help to find out what it is.

- All are welcome, they are welcome to come down and dive here. We can not do it, we do not have the resources required, he says.

US admits drones killed four Americans
Letter from US attorney general confirms President Barack Obama administration killed US nationals abroad.

The United States has killed four of its own citizens in drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan, the Barack Obama administration has formally acknowledged.

Eric Holder, the US attorney general, said in a letter addressed to congressional leaders on Wednesday that three of those killed were not targets of the strikes involving drones in Yemen and elsewhere.

Holder named the four dead US citizens in a letter to members of Congress one day before President Obama is scheduled to deliver an address on the use of drones.

The letter defends the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki, the one dead American who was an intended target of a drone strike in September 2011, the letter said.

"The decision to target Anwar al-Awlaki was lawful, it was considered, and it was just," he wrote.

"The [Obama] administration is determined to continue these extensive outreach efforts to communicate with the American people," the attorney general wrote.

Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman, reporting from Washington DC, said that the other three killed in the drone strikes were not intentional victims.

He said the administration also named Jude Kenan Mohammed, a US citizen who has gone to Pakistan from North Carolina and who had been indicted by a jury on charges of murder and kidnapping.

Ackerman said Obama's speech on Thursday will lay out the criteria and justification for the government's drone assassintation policy.

The letter appears to be an effort to respond to criticisms against the Obama administration over a perceived lack of transparency, particularly concerning its "counterterrorism" abroad.

Al Jazeera's Nadim Baba said Amnesty International pointed out in its new report that US policy appears to permit "extrajudicial executions" in violation of international law.

WASHINGTON — President Obama plans to open a new phase in the nation’s long struggle with terrorism on Thursday by restricting the use of unmanned drone strikes that have been at the heart of his national security strategy and shifting control of them away from the C.I.A. to the military.

In his first major speech on counterterrorism of his second term, Mr. Obama hopes to refocus the epic conflict that has defined American priorities since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and even foresees an unspecified day when the so-called war on terror might all but end, according to people briefed on White House plans.

I was saddened to read the below article I found on the Mercola Web site. The meddling of the FDA into the rights of individuals to choose healthy food choices is intolerable. We can purchase soda pop, candy, processed food with little or no nutritious value, we can have cigarettes, alcohol but healthful raw milk seems to be criminal........................

Story at-a-glance From the Mercola Web site......

The trial of Wisconsin dairy farmer Vernon Hershberger recently began at the Sauk County Courthouse. Hershberger’s farm was targeted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection for supplying a private buying club with raw milk and other fresh produce.
Hershberger is charged with four criminal misdemeanors that could result in a jail sentence of up to 30 months
Criminal trials centering around raw milk are scheduled to take place in both Minnesota and Wisconsin this year
CDC data shows there are about 412 confirmed cases of people getting ill from pasteurized milk each year, while only about 116 illnesses a year are linked to raw milk. Research by Dr. Ted Beals shows that you are about 35,000 times more likely to get sick from other foods than you are from raw milk
If the FDA and state agencies are allowed to impose their view of “safe food” on consumers, raw milk won’t be the only thing lost—all food will be pasteurized, irradiated, and genetically engineered. The effort to reclaim our right to buy and consume raw milk is leading the way for everyone who wants to be able to obtain the food of their choice from the source of their choice

A BBC radio report mentioned that it's believed the killing was 'filmed'.

That could mean there's going to be a video going around the internet very soon that will be so sensational it'll draw in a lot of attention.

EDIT:

Early reports said the dead man was a soldier who was beheaded with a hatchet and then the 2 men who did it posed to be filmed and then they were shot by police and taken to hospital.

As I came across the news , I remember the ideas of Dan Brown's book about the bloodlines and how it's implications in today's society... AMSTERDAM — Millions of Dutch people dressed in orange flocked to celebrations around the Netherlands Tuesday in honor of a once-in-a-generation milestone for the country's ruling House of Orange-Nassau: after a 33-year reign, Queen Beatrix abdicated in favor of her eldest son, Willem-Alexander.

At 46, King Willem-Alexander is the youngest monarch in Europe and the first Dutch king in 123 years, since Willem III died in 1890. Like Beatrix before him, Willem-Alexander has assumed the throne at a time of social strains and economic malaise.

Although the Dutch monarchy is largely ceremonial, he immediately staked out a course to preserve its relevance in the 21st century.

"I want to establish ties, make connections and exemplify what unites us, the Dutch people," the freshly minted king said at a nationally televised investiture ceremony in Amsterdam's 600-year-old New Church, held before the combined houses of Dutch parliament.

"As king, I can strengthen the bond of mutual trust between the people and their government, maintain our democracy and serve the public interest."

Hopes for the new monarch are high.

For most of the 2000s, the country was locked in an intense national debate over the perceived failure of Muslim immigrants, mostly from North Africa, to integrate. In response, politicians curtailed many of the famed Dutch tolerance policies.

More recently, this trading nation of 17 million has suffered back-to-back recessions. European Union figures released Tuesday showed Dutch unemployment spiking upward toward 6.4 percent. That's below the EU average, but a 20-year high in the Netherlands.

"I am taking the job at a time when many in the kingdom feel vulnerable and uncertain," Willem-Alexander said. "Vulnerable in their work or health. Uncertain about their income or home environment."

Amsterdam resident Inge Bosman, 38, said she doubted Willem-Alexander's investiture would give the country much of an employment boost.

"Well, at least one person got a new job," she said.

Tellingly, one of Willem-Alexander's first diplomatic missions as king will be to visit the country's largest trading partner, Germany.

While many are skeptical that the new king can make a difference where politicians have failed, the celebrations provided a welcome change from the humdrum of everyday life, and the popularity of the royal house itself is not in doubt. A poll commissioned by national broadcaster NOS and published this week showed that 78 percent support the monarchy.

The royal couple has also been active in the global campaign to fight poverty.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Willem-Alexander and praised the royal couple for supporting the promotion of clean water, sanitation and development. The new king has chaired the secretary-general's Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation.

Ban also paid tribute to Beatrix for her "outstanding public service" and "for the important and positive force the Netherlands has been throughout her reign, in promoting international law, the rule of law and peaceful settlement of disputes."

Most say that the House of Orange-Nassau, which was instrumental in the Dutch war for independence in the 16th and 17th centuries, is a cornerstone of the national identity. It represents something that is both quintessentially Dutch, and above politics.

"I think (Willem-Alexander) is just like his mum – honest, wants to do a lot for his people inside the country and also outside the country," said Ron Pols, who was attending celebrations in Amsterdam.

Willem Alexander's popularity has been steadily rising since his 2002 marriage to an Argentine commoner, Maxima Zorreguieta.

In an interview shortly before his accession, Willem-Alexander turned in a relaxed performance, saying he will not be a "protocol fetishist," but a king who puts his people at ease.

Around 25,000 supporters thronged Amsterdam's central Dam Square Tuesday, hoping to catch a glimpse of the new king or the departing 75-year-old queen, now known as Princess Beatrix.

Millions more watched on television as King Willem-Alexander, wearing a fur-trimmed ceremonial mantle, swore an oath of allegiance to the country and the constitution.

Earlier, the new king gripped his mother's hand and looked briefly into her eyes after they both signed the abdication document in the Royal Palace on Dam Square.

Beatrix appeared close to tears as she then appeared on a balcony decked out with tulips, roses and oranges, overlooking her subjects.

"I am happy and grateful to introduce to you your new king, Willem-Alexander," she told the cheering crowd, which chanted: "Bea bedankt" ("Thanks Bea.")

Moments later, the generational shift was enacted symbolically. Beatrix left the balcony as King Willem-Alexander, his wife and three daughters – the children in matching yellow dresses and headbands – waved to the crowd.

The highly popular Maxima became Queen Maxima, and their eldest of three daughters, Catharina-Amalia, became the Princess of Orange, the first in line to the throne.

At a sparsely attended anti-monarchist demonstration on the nearby Waterloo Square, protestors dressed in white instead of orange and carried signs mocking Willem-Alexander.

"Monarchy is a sexually-transmitted disease," one sign said. "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others," said another. It included a picture of a pig wearing a crown, with a line crossing it out.

Amsterdammer Jan Dikkers said he attended to show his disapproval for a hereditary head of state, and Willem-Alexander in particular, who he said Dutch people only accept because "people like his wife."

He added that Beatrix is overrated.

"People say the queen did a `good job', but she didn't really do any job," Dikkers said.

One criticism of the royal house is that it is too expensive, especially in difficult economic times. University of Ghent professor Herman Matthijs estimates that it costs (EURO)40 million ($52 million) a year to maintain_ slightly more than taxpayers' support for Britain's House of Windsor.

The difficulties facing the Dutch should be kept in perspective. Per-capita incomes remain high, the United Nations says Dutch children are the world's happiest, on average, and the country retains its triple A credit rating.

The celebrations in Amsterdam Tuesday were lively but peaceful, a stark contrast to Beatrix's investiture in 1980. Then, squatters protesting a chronic housing shortage battled police nearly to the doors of the palace.

The official festivities concluded with the new king and queen and their daughters taking an evening boat cruise around the historic Amsterdam waterfront, at one stage climbing out of their boat to join DJ Armin van Buuren and the Concert Gebouw Orchestra on stage at a concert

I enjoyed this video because Max outlines how the Central Banks are printing money to buy their own country's (or EU) bonds and this is hyper-inflationary, but the inflation is only "trickling down" as the money is held off the economy (in bonds, loans, etc).

Also, Max says this money is pushing up the share-market, while holding down gold and silver prices through manipulation. As the demand for gold and silver is at record highs, so the fact the price is going down defys economic laws - e.g. of supply and demand....
After the attacks of September 11, Congress handed over the power to the Executive
'Freedom activist Adam Kokesh of Adam vs. the Man was violently dragged from
a "Smoke Down Prohibition" protest in Philadelphia just a few hours ago. According to
his Facebook page, Adam is being charged with "resisting arrest" but is refusing to be
booked for the charge which is obviously false.

The YouTube video of the arrest shows Adam Kokesh clearly NOT resisting, holding his
hands up in a surrender posture and trying to maintain his balance while a gang of
police drag him away from the event.

According to Adam Kokesh supporter "Brother Lucas," Kokesh never even smoked pot
during the protest, so his arrest is sending shockwaves across the liberty movement
because it appears to be illegal and unjustified.'

They make it sound like it is the most normal thing to do. Stick your children with toxins while not being told what is exactly in it. They also make it it normal to look horribly down at people who do not vaccinate their children.
I thought that if you got vaccinated that you would not get sick.
So why ban kids from schools if they are not vaccinated by choice, if it is not going to effect the kids that are vaccinated?

By the way I might be a little hypocritical here :) by saying measles mumps and whooping cough I would surely vaccinate against.

Which asks another question. The cocktail of things they put in vaccines are most likely in the vaccines that you probably should get for your children. making it a rock and a hard place.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/new...-1226635256015
The Sunday Telegraph and The Daily Telegraph are today launching a campaign to stop the rise in the number of children succumbing to preventable diseases because parents are failing to have them fully immunised.

Although only 1.5 per cent of parents are "vaccine refusers" or conscientious objectors, many parents are forgetful, leaving areas of NSW with vaccination rates below 85 per cent - despite the inarguable scientific proof that the vaccination program has saved thousands of lives and eradicated diseases that crippled children just a generation ago, including polio.

"from anther article"
Labor leader John Robertson will introduce amendments to the public health act which would give early childhood centres the right to refuse kids who haven't had their shots.
The move comes amid concern about high rates of unvaccinated children in some parts of NSW as well as the emergence of so-called "anti-vaxxers" who refuse vaccination.
Some parts of NSW had lower vaccination rates than Rwanda, Mr Robertson said.
But he said it was a case of most non-vaccinaters simply forgetting, and vaccine refusers were a minority.
"Many parents simply forget to immunise their children," he told reporters in Sydney on Sunday.

Google want's to know everything, everywhere.

Walking around Google I/O, one begins to notice many of these dispersed all around:

Quote:

Reading the attached sign removes some of the mystery; it's a sensor placed there by Google to record the various conditions of the environment, including temperature, humidity, pressure, light, air quality, motion, and noise levels. Five hundred of these things scattered throughout Moscone are feeding over 4,000 data streams back to Google.

The idea for tracking and monitoring in real time the conference conditions came about after last year's Google I/O, where the Google Cloud Platform Developer Relations team wondered about where the busiest and loudest locations were. They also wondered where the best place would be to take a nap.

"We think about data problems all the time, and this looked like an interesting big data challenge that we could try to solve. So this year, we decided to try to answer our questions with a project that's a bit different, kind of futuristic, and maybe a little crazy," wrote Michael Manoochehri, Developer Programs Engineer, in the a Google blog. "Since we love open source hardware hacking as much as we love to share open source code, we decided to team up with the O'Reilly Data Sensing Lab to deploy hundreds of Arduino-based environmental sensors at Google I/O 2013."

Manoochehri continued, "In addition, our motes will be able to detect fluctuations in noise level, and some will be attached to footstep counters, to understand collective movement around the conference floor. Of course, since a key goal of Google I/O is to promote innovation in the open, the project's Cloud Platform code, the Arduino hardware designs, and even the data collected, will be open source and available online after the conference."

Even without 500 sensors, my singular person moving throughout the conference center could detect dramatic changes in noise, traffic, temperature – and yes – air quality too. The session rooms were dramatically warmer than the main hallways. The crowds were the worst when between sessions. Don't even try to get into a session on Google Glass; just watch the live video on YouTube. And only go into the men's washroom when you really, really have to go.

Google, being the information-obsessed company it is, sees this sort of real-time tracking as applicable in many other instances, such as city planning and consumer products. A retailer could put such data points to use in managing the insane foot traffic of holiday season. Perhaps shopping malls could make parking a less frustrating experience.

Google Sensors Are Data Mining I/O Attendees - And They Don't Care

Quote:

If you're visiting the Google I/O developers conference this week, you're a tiny part of a giant Google experiment to sniff out everything from your body heat to your breath. Google is even listening to your footfalls as part of its Data Sensing Lab I/O 2013.

Think that's a scary, Big-Brother invasion of privacy? The conference attendees I talked to didn't seem to mind. In fact, one wanted Google to collect even more data.

Google planted 525 powered sensors around the halls of San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center, and began collecting data from them on Wednesday, according to Michael Manoochehri, a developer programs engineer at Google. The company began measuring temperature, humidity, light, pressure (including nearby footfalls), motion, air quality and both RF and ambient noise. All of the data is sent back at intervals of 20 seconds or so, collected by Google's App Engine, with analysis performed by its BigQuery Big Data analysis tool. You can see the results at the Lab's dedicated Web site.

Among other things, Google's I/O developer conference has focused this year on improving developer tools and better integrating the services that it already owns via a more intelligent cloud. The unnamed sensor project, part of Google's Data Sensing Lab, encompasses a bit of all of that. By itself, knowing that the air quality diminished at 4a.m. might be intriguing, but not all that significant. But by correlating that information with a peak in another data stream - ambient noise, say - it becomes possible to guess what's going oin; in this case, perhaps, the arrival of the cleaning crew.

Manoochehri said that Google could build in queries against the sensor network into its Google I/O app, to identify the quietest spots on the floor for a phone call or a brief nap.

Crossing The Creepy Line?

Eric Schmidt, then the chief executive of Google, famously described Google's policy as "to get right up to the creepy line, but not cross it." When Google unified its privacy policy in March 2012, the company suggested that its unified services could anticipate an afternoon meeting and direct you to leave at a certain time. A year ago, that notion prompted righteous outrage from members of Congress, users and privacy advocates. A year later, that feature (now called Google Now) has been lauded as the herald of anticipatory search. (Six privacy advocates from the EU are still threatening action.)

It's probably fair to say that attendees of Google I/O give Google a bit more leeway than the general public. That certainly proved to be the case for those sitting near the sensors. Alan Holzman, a retired venture capitalist who last worked for Intel Capital, shrugged it off. "My life is tied to Google in much more significant ways," he noted.

Ditto for Sam Napolitano, who was covering Google I/O for the Huffington Post. Napolitano said he believed that the sensors were probably picking up on the NFC tag embedded within his name tag - something that Google employees said wasn't true. In any event, Napolitano said, he didn't care, as he had no expectations of privacy in a public space. "As long as it's not under my toilet seat, I don't care," Napolitano said of the sensors.

And "Rachid," an employee of Motorola Mobility who declined to give his last name, said he wanted to Google sample more data. More data and more correlation often derives more interesting results, he said, such as the various causes of depression. (...)

It's been exactly one hundred days since detainees at Guantanamo Bay camp started
their hunger strike. The official number of inmates refusing food has been increasing on
an almost daily basis - and has reached at least one hundred. Around thirty hunger-
strikers are being subjected to force-feeding - a controversial tactic condemned by the
UN and the international medical community as inhumane. And all those numbers are
only likely to grow. Because what started as a strike against mistreatment has turned
into a battle against indefinite detention and Washington's broken promises to close the
prison at the center of America's War on Terror. READ MORE:

Maintaining cannabis prohibition in New Zealand is estimated to cost the taxpayer $500 million annually. Add to that the tax revenue which could be generated from licensed cannabis distributors and producers and it is clear that ALCP policy would easily add over $1 billion to the government's operational budget each year, benefiting all New Zealanders.

Already, jurisdictions in The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Colorado State are regulating cannabis, allowing locals and foreigners to buy or possess small amounts of the product. They have managed to establish the industry, despite the United Nations Single Convention on Narcotics.

Not only would a regulated marketplace for cannabis generate revenue for government, it would do so at the same time as drastically cutting government spending. Regulation of cannabis would also allow small business owners to earn a decent income and provide employment opportunities for numerous staff members.

Medical research has comprehensively shown that cannabis is safe and has therapeutic benefits for hundreds of medical conditions. Medical Marijuana producers could establish a significant presence in New Zealand reducing the cost of importing cannabis medicines like Sativex (http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/RIss/Sativex.asp). Cannabinoids have been described as the "wonder-drug of the 21st century" by the Harvard Medical School. Allowing cannabis medicines to be produced in New Zealand would reduce Pharmac's expenditure, freeing up funds to subsidise specialised drugs for more specific treatments.

In 1938, the Hemp Industry was the first agricultural crop to be valued in the billions of dollars. The same year prohibition of hemp lead to the rise of synthetic and petro-chemical products, at huge cost to the environment. Returning to hemp products, which have over 20,000 known uses, would reverse the tide of environmental degradation, deforestation and pesticide use.

Entire houses can be constructed from hemp-crete, hemp fibre boards and hemp plastics. Hemp houses are naturally warm, dry and healthy to live in. New Zealand;s housing shortage could easily be addressed by building homes out of affordable hemp materials. Fuels made from hemp can generate electricity and power our motor vehicles, while maintaining a neutral carbon footprint.

Hemp farming should be promoted in New Zealand, to create employment and train young people in establishing successful, environmentally sustainable businesses. Hemp products have a huge export market especially in the United States when its production is currently illegal. New Zealand farmers should apply to the Ministry of Health for a Hemp Licence. (http://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/r...ndustrial-hemp)

Regulating cannabis would take the market away from gangs and make it harder for youth to access, while allowing adults to make free choices about their cannabis use. Medical marijuana will reduce cancer rates and help treat many illnesses. Hemp Food nutrition will improve health and prevent disease. Hemp will be used for fuels, construction and manufacturing bio-plastics, insulating New Zealand's economy from international fluctuation in the price of oil.

ALCP are not a party that only cares about one issue, as outlined above, we believe our policy will have positive impacts across a wide range of government sectors. Our policy would have a range of social, economic and environmental benefits across society. ALCP support personal responsibility, civil liberties and true justice. Our policy endorses Common Law and the Treaty of Waitangi and seeks a proper and just balance between the power of the state and the rights and dignity of the individual.

It is impossible to estimate how valuable the hemp industry will become for our economy but it is clear that ALCP policy will deliver billions of dollars in revenue to the taxpayer, reduce crime and access to hard drugs while providing employment and skills training. The overall value of the Cannabis, Industrial Hemp and Medical Marijuana industries would total in the tens of billions of dollars annually, with no limit to growth in the industry. Unlike traditional resources, hemp is renewable and carbon neutral allowing economic growth and environmental sustainability to occur simultaneously.
